Laura is nice, she appreciates the people around her. More power Laura and God bless!!! You're a blessing to me, I get a lot of ideas about baking from you.
Hey Laura , out of all the food channels on RUclips i really think yours is the best. The way you explain the methods on making something in your videos are really simple and easy to understand. Thank you :)
"...and then we'll make the frosting, and then we'll frost them, and then we'll gain a couple pounds and we'll do it with pleasure!" The face she makes LOL
Omg this cake is the best velvet cake I've ever tasted and I made it!!! It's soo moist soo soft. I tried it with my homemade white chocolate ganache and together they're like a perfect marriage. Thanks Laura for this recipe. Will not bother looking for another recipe. This is spot on.
Great recipe...can't wait to try this one. Laura always makes things look so easy giving us the incentive to give it a go ourselves. (little tip...instead of using baking (parchment) paper (which is a tad more expensive because it's made to go in the oven etc) to line the cake stand, just use cheaper, ordinary greaseproof paper.)
It would be great and easy if you can put the exact link for the recipe in all your videos so it will be much easier to just one click and there it is. Instead of searching for it specially when using a phone or tablet.. Please consider it! love all your cooking/baking videos been a subscriber since the beginning and been amazed! :-)
I love your channel! You are so adorable, I am the same way when I bake and cook. Getting super excited and happy! And I can't wait to try all your recipes :)
Hi laura, though I am pretty sure there is a huge percentage that you wont read this, I still want to thank you for being such an inspiration. You inspire me every day to improve my baking skills, you encourage me by making everything seem so simple, I am 17 years old and have a big dream of opening up my own bakery
I love you laura you are so inspiring to me I am a young baker who would love to have a bakery when I'm older your recipes are amazing thank you so much for what you do hope you do more videos!
Laura, before I even finished watching this episode, I just had to comment on how BEAUTIFUL and flawless your make up looks! I love how it compliments your eyes really well! :)
You're fantastic Laura !! since subscribing to your channel I've tried a number of your recipes and it all came out great..so far... Latest recipe was your hash browns which my wife & little girl enjoyed so much !! I'll be taking a major step up now & going to try cakes..your Red Velvet & Lemon Meringue recipe is next once I get my cake mixer. Thank Laura & Keep up the great work & I hope you get your own show soon,
Big hit at Christmas a couple weeks ago, and this was the first cake I've ever baked. Not even from like a box of Betty Crocker. But I figured I had enough experience baking now to try. Delicious and the family loved it. I didn't have any nuts on me, and I KNEW I'd screw up the frosting because I'd never frosted a cake before (more on that in a minute), so what I did is I took those bits I sliced off to flatten the cake halves, I broke them up, pulsed them in the food processor a couple times, put them in a warm oven for about fifteen minutes just to crisp them up a bit, and I just coated the whole outside with crumbs. It looked BEAUTIFUL, my mom and sister both especially liked that. I wish I'd snapped a picture, but I'll be making it again some time. The only thing is I'll make more frosting. There wasn't really enough there to get a complete coat of it on the cake.
Laura I love this recipe! I've done it many times and it always turns out AMAZING! But never red!!! I don't know what I'm doing wrong, I even bought the super expensive food colouring, but it always turns out brown! :( Anyone else having this problem? Any tips? Please!!
i guess its because of your cocoa powder. maybe the one that u used is the dutch processed cocoa powder, it has a much darker color and stronger taste. for red velvet you should use the natural cocoa powder, it has a much lighter brown color.. hope it can help. :)
Using beetroot ( beets ) does help. I use squashed up beet in the mix, substituting beets for some of the wet ingredients and adding the same quantity of red colouring. Using natural red colouring from a bottle doesn't work as well as the synthetic stuff unfortunately. Hope this helps. :-)
me encanta el Red velved bueno a quien no !! jajaj es uno de los bizcochos mas ricos que hay !! encantada de conocerte guapísima !! Que caña !! un besete y he tomado buena nota ^+^
I just had to say that I´m a huge fan of yours from Spain (majorca tp be exact) and that I think you´re adorable..even my kids love to watch you (and imitate you..so cute!).You are a fantastic cook :D
Pay attention to what Laura V. said, "there are many variation ways to make it, it depend on how you like it". TheLavenderAndHoney, stop being judgmental, that's not good.
happyhello1000 yes she can have her opinion, but I think you're forgetting Laura reads these comments! What "TheLavendarAndHoney" said was plain rude. She should've reworded it to make it sound less like "haha Laura you're wrong!" and more "hey Laura, thought you might want to check this recipe out which I found to work a little better!" :) see how much nicer that sounds?
Hi Laura, my family and friends have been loving your recipes. I've finally found the jackpot of trustworthy recipes! Thank you so much! I also have a request, can you do foods or snacks for hiking trips, road trips, or basically anything for traveling? Thanks!
hi laura! *I use whole milk instead of buttermilk, and is moist also *And I recommend you to use apple cider vinegar, and tastes delicious! -Hugs from Mexico!
I love to add creme fraiche in my cream cheese frosting (maybe because I'm French, I don't know !) and always add more chocolate. Love your recipes and energy :D
Hi Laura, I love your recipes they're so easy to follow and the results are always perfect, I've tried a few of them and every time I get asked how I made them. Thanks so much XOXO
I feel THE same way, and it's really a nice way of sharing our passion with others by making delicious treats. Tnx Laura!!! I work in the kitchen too and i'm incharge in making the desserts... I've learned a lot from you!
I made this cake and it turned out absolutely amazing. The cake was not as moist but I'm sure a few adjustments will make it even better. I also used Laura's Creme Cheese Frosting recipe. The frosting was good but a bit too sweet. I would suggest less sugar.
Thank you Laura. My cousin and I are baking this delicious red velvet cake tomorrow for July 4th! I think this is going to be perfect for the event because of the red and white color of this cake. We will buy blue sprinkles to add on top. Thanks so much for all you do! :) please do more baking recipes.
Made your red velvet cupcakes last year, and gave some to my co-workers, and everybody loved them and wanted the recipe!!! Can't wait to try this one, and what's so great is that now I have red food coloring to have an actual red velvet anything haha! xoxo
also for your frosting, add half a cup of heavy cream to the butter and cream cheese and whip it then add as much powdered sugar to your frosting to make it as thick or runny as you want it. its so good, and cuts the super sweetness. its perfect combo to the red velvet.
Laura this recipe is really close to mine and I found my cake to be a little on the dry side, so what I did was I added a small amount of hot coffee or espresso about 1/8 cup. This helped make the cake moist. I added this right at the end when mixing batter. You can give this a try. Oh yeah the pecans on the cream cheese frosting yummy.
i just use the cupcake recipe for the actual red valvet cake and double up the recipe if i want to make it larger...and it still have the moist fluffy structure like you said! love it always!
Laura you're so smart! I've never really understood the point of red velvet cake, I always thought it was just chocolate cake with red food coloring. Your explanation was great. And then add cream cheese frosting and pecans, I'm SOLD!
Laura please make an episode all on frostings on Laura's topics! i always seem to have a hard time finding the perfect recipe! Grazie! love you! like so she can see!!!
thanks Laura. I am obsessed with red velvet, and we just got red velvet sundeas and shakes at my work and I was thinking I wanted to make a red velvet cake since I'm not going to my work for a while. open up my RUclips and there's the video recipe for me. Perfect timing
if you add your baking soda/powder to a tablespoon of vinegar then add it to the batter as the reaction is happening it comes out soooo fluffy and just amaziiiiiing.
Hi Laura, I love the recipe and you know what; instead of sitting and watching ALL your episode, I'm gonna make the cake RIGHT NOW!!! So I was just wondering if you can make a chocolate cake but let me check if u have a recipe for that!!
WoaO.!! it looks delicious and amazing.!!! I always wanted to do red velvet cake and now i have the recipe from you so thank you so much laura..!! you are amazing.!

Thank you :)
I wish u had a show on food network! Love your recipes and show!
The cake looks quite good, but I would change the ratio of icing sugar to cream cheese because I like a thicker frosting
Laura is nice, she appreciates the people around her. More power Laura and God bless you more!!!
"...and then we'll make the frosting, and then we'll frost them, and then we'll gain a couple pounds and we'll do it with pleasure!" The face she makes LOL
I feel like laura has a full drawer of vannila extract
To that I say ... Join the club
I think she should just get one of those big bottles of vanilla extract. It's cheaper....
+Music Lyrics I have a cabinet filled with those...
Debbie Kim she has a big bottle of vanilla because she made a vanilla extract video
I join the club lol

Omg this cake is the best velvet cake I've ever tasted and I made it!!! It's soo moist soo soft. I tried it with my homemade white chocolate ganache and together they're like a perfect marriage. Thanks Laura for this recipe. Will not bother looking for another recipe. This is spot on.
I would like to say one thing off topic. I have never seen anyone with skin as perfect as yours. Beautiful. The cake was great also.
Great recipe...can't wait to try this one. Laura always makes things look so easy giving us the incentive to give it a go ourselves. You inspire me every day to improve my baking skills, you encourage me by making everything seem so simple, I am 17 years old and have a big dream of opening up my own bakery

Make a blue velvet cake :)

Elvina Ongkowidjaja thank you!!!! that helps a lot!
Add pink food colouring as well. It works.
Same!! I just made this and used the same food coloring that she used and it us barely red.
Laura needs to her own TV show. Great recipes and fun personality. She'd be a natural.
me encanta el Red velved bueno a quien no !! jajaj es uno de los bizcochos mas ricos que hay !! encantada de conocerte guapísima !! Que caña !! un besete y he tomado buena nota ^+^

Sorry Laura, but for once you're wrong! :D I followed DivasCanCook's recipe for this and her cake was incredibly moist!!

Do a episode with measurements
I' ve always wanted some red velvet cake and this is the best tasty looking red velvet cake I have ever seen but with out the the nuts
what if you don't have cream cheese
Then make a difrent type of icing. Cream cheese goes well with cream cheese but you can always make French butter cream🍰🎂
Then go buy some.
Tribal_chic13. Make the cream cheese frosting urself out of cream cheese, powder sugar, milk and vanilla extract
Heartss they said they don’t have cream cheese tho...
hi laura!
*I use whole milk instead of buttermilk, and is moist also
*And I recommend you to use apple cider vinegar, and tastes delicious!
