- OPEN ME!: I feel like this vlog is such chaos but we're going to just roll with it. On Saturday I wasn't feeling the greatest and I didn't feel like working on my book, so I decided to work on NaNoWriMo prep and just shuffling my schedule around. Prepping had mixed results lol. I got some stuff done but then other things didn't work quite right and I got massively behind. But I'm more or less ready for NaNo to start. I ended the day by resetting my mind with a lovely sunset hike. I hope you enjoy! :) xx

🌄⛰Rebels unite! I'm also all about focusing on the fun this month as I outline my Fantasy novel. I don't have a word count goal, I just hope to finish the outline and maaaaybe start drafting. I like the chaos of this NaNo prep vlog because it's relatable--this is how real life is! You can't plan for all the wrenches thrown your way but you handled the printer debacle like a champ! I'm happy you were able to end your day with a relaxing hike and I hope the rest of your weekend was stress free 💜

I don’t partake in Nano but I’ve got things on the go. Got new videos up too and many more to make, plus, balancing that with a full time job is very difficult.
Time slipping away but the road ahead feeling endless is such a great description! It's all about the journey. :) And omg, yes, balancing content creation with a full time job is so difficult. Such a challenge to balance it all.

I rarely do holds on the Libby app because it seems to do that to me all the time. When I do put on a hold I have a max rule of 2 at a time. I'll often just go pick up the physical copy of the book instead. I just can't take the stress. lol
You did good today. Sometimes life throws some curves but you got this! :D
It's rare that they all come up at once. I usually just delay delivery on a bunch when that happens and stretch out the new delivery dates. I'm slowly working through those holds and will start adding Christmas books to the line up soon.:)
I'm sure things have improved for you since filming this, but I totally felt and understood your frustration. May the rest of this month of rebellion go better for you!

I know I'm late to the party, but I'm working on finishing the fanfic I started in 2020 and thought would be two chapters. It's got 31 chapters posted currently. Your channel came up as a suggested video and I'm so happy it did! I was following you years ago but when I left the program I mass unfollowed all the academic/studytube accounts I was following. Congratulations on publishing!

I'm sorry that the prep and tech were so frustrating but I so related to what you said about your brain feeling like an old computer that dislikes having too many windows or tabs open. My NaNoWriMo prep wasn't remotely as good as I wanted it to, but I've been rolling with the punches. I've been on track every day since then, but tonight my brain is like "why do you want us to write more, ugh?" So we'll see if I can cut myself some slack. I had 2 soft launches for new services this week and I'm rethinking my life choices with NaNo

This NaNo has been very different. Virtually no prep and just taking each day as it comes and not worrying about word count. But I'm having fun so far. Hope the soft launches went well!
I had so much plans for October to prep and it all went out the window 😅 so I'm being a rebel and I decided my attempt at 50k will be me passing my handwritten words into my computer😂 and I'm going to count that as success because is something that needs to be done eventually. And so far I've made it, but is hard to be able to get time to sit to write the 1667 words everyday... let's see how it goes when I was told by my kids school they're going to have more days with no school than what I had planned for😅 so let's do our best❤
I think aiming for 50k of converting handwritten notes to words on the computer is a solid use for NaNoWriMo! :) Hitting 1667 words every day is so hard. It was a miracle I managed it last year. It definitely wasn't going to happen for me this year.

Love your vlogs Andrea, so real! I was listening/watching this as I was at my desk, trying to put my tasks in order for the day and Im smiling to myself because I have those days when even my chair won't co-operate🤣. Luckily we get to start a fresh the next day huh? I've started nano after failing multiple times in previous years lol. But I'm only doing 20,000 words not 50,000, so much pressure taken off and it feels great. Im also editing another book at the same time so the less pressure the better. 🏔🌄
Thank you so much! And yes, thank goodness for fresh starts every day lol. I think 20k for this month is a solid and realistic goal. I'm aiming for about the same. I'm looking forward to a no pressure approach to writing this month. :)
🌄⛰ Fellow participation badge earner here, Andrea! I've put down 2 projects - my Gossip Girl x Anime WIP and my Black Mirror but Caribbean short story collection. I started off really well and then got side-tracked with my short stories. But all good, writing is writing so I'm giving myself grace. I'll be cheering others on as well as cheering on myself :)
