fun fact. I live in the same town, where Johannes Härteis was from. He is kind of a local legend here for the tennis community. I have even played with him once. One of many inspirations, that lead to me becoming a trainer. Glad to see some video material here. Happy to see u improving. Really impressive.
Good job Felix. At this point, you just lack the experience that is needed in order to dominate these games, but once it comes, you'll win much more. Keep up the grind
That battle was incredible, improving so much its crazy. That comeback in the first set was amazing. You have a bright future. Enjoy MTA and good luck in your next tournaments
Really impressed with your improvement just in the last 3-4 months Felix! Your unwavering determination is immense and is the bedrock of your game (as it needs to be to achieve your goal). I love how you were constantly looking to dictate with your forehand while still being able to call on your exceptional quickness and agility when you had to defend. A guy like that has only two things you don't yet have: High level match experience and "Seasoned Pro" fitness. These two "assets" kept him calm and focused throughout, and allowed him to raise his level when he needed it the most. Every match you play at this level is getting you one small step closer to your goal. I have ZERO doubts you will EARN your first ATP point in the not too distant future.
Agreed - the opponent wasn’t a blow you off the court guy but he was no pusher and he was INCREDIBLY consistent. Especially for trying to take the initiative on the few openings you had I thought you played with great controlled aggression and also almost matched him in the consistency of depth and defence. Johannes Consistency of depth in particular seemed like it was what really won the match for him, he was unbelievably consistent keeping his shots of both wings very deep and simply not allowing you inside the baseline where you were doing so much damage
Felix, you're an absolute beast of a player! You just need more experience in these kinds of higher-profile tournaments... maybe you could focus on mixing up your game a little bit more, hitting some drop shots and slicing it up a bit more to kill pace - this can be very effective on clay. Good job!
There is such a small difference between winning and losing matches at this level. The difference is mental and strategic, not so much stroke production. You really played well, in my opinion.
This is some of the highest tennis level tennis content from a tennis player RUclipsr ever. Rly fun to watch keep on that grind man! 💪Good stuff this match especially at the end!
The basics I know about this game is the satisfaction you get after you leave everything on the court. I think you did that and you should be proud of yourself, its just a matter of time before the effort you put in translates to victories. Keep up Felix.
Valiant effort indeed. I wish you all the best for upcoming tournaments. I do feel in the next 18-24 months you will not only score many ATP points, but make it to the top 300 in the world. We all want to see this happen!
I played professionally on clay for many years. I found that mainly playing the ball down the middle (as deep as possible) and waiting for the short ball to put away was the best tactic. Some of these guys just love playing side to side and wearing you down.
Felix absolutely love your videos! You've inspired me to switch to singles! Please keep it up! you're doing so amazing and inspiring me to fight for a state chamionship!
Felix, you’re just one win away. I am enjoying your story and you’re living the dream for all of us. FYI…on a tall lefty (like me) keep ball low. He ate the high ones up, but struggled to get low time after time. He had a little wiggle in his backhand (like I do) that is amplified when returning slice.
You did amazing Felix, specially coming back on that first set. You are still growing and have strength to develop, not only physically but mentally as well, leaving me with no doubt that you will get your ATP point and more. One thing that might help on the court, specifically related to mental strength, is that you have nothing to lose, no points will be taken if you lose. And while the is the possibility of losing a chance to gain those points is there, at the end of the match there is no better feeling than saying “I went for all the shot, played loose, and gave it my best.” As Wayne Gretzky said “you miss 100% of the shots you don’t take.”
Man, positive trajectory in terms; effort, consistency and points won! You're gaining alot of positives Felix! Keep working on your game and keep trying you're definitely getting close to your goal.
Great effort Felix. I wasnt subscribed yet but after watching a few of your videos I'm a fan and I will be in your corner! You will find your place among the stars with your attitude and training!
Super spirited performance. I really thought while watching the video that you had the game to beat your opponent. I guess it's a matter of time and experience. Well done Felix, very enjoyable videos!!
Man you've improved so much. The you now in the matches earlier this year would have smoked those wins. You're more aggressive on the forehand and serve which opened up more opportunities to close out points. You've gained a new subscriber from Haiti 🇭🇹
Wow He was so consistent sick. What level need to get that 1point insane. Well done. You made him sweat in the first set. Good luck for the next qualification.
Just remember it was your first try of getting your atp point so calm down continue working the way you’re working and eventually you’ll win Proud of you my man😘
This was an amazing match Felix, you still made it to the main draw which was crazy good, I’m super looking forward to seeing you play your next match on your next video. Lots of 💚💚💚💚💚💚💚and positive energy🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟always😊👌🏽💪🏽👊🏽
This was a high quality match, something to be proud of for sure. You both played very well. Could have gone either way, just like most of tennis matches, it's just a few points here and there that can make or break the result. Good luck!
That was brutal brother, tennis pennis brother brutal ! Valiant effort , really enjoyed your match and hope you can find your edge next time , they are all within your range so more speed brother !
If I may offer some advice. Sometimes players don't notice it, but when they win a tough first set and then lose 3/6 0/6 it's due to lack of endurance, not a tactic or technique issue: players get tired and can't run as fast as in the 1st set, and once you get late to the ball you can't attack. If you work on your cardio (like Murray running several 200 mts sprints, or like Wawrinka running long distances) you'll get better performance.
I found myself cheering for you so hard dude.......you have such a nice mentality, you hit hard and it´s pretty enjoyable to see your matches. I think, and it´s just an observation from a "nobody joe", that what happens in those matches going for 3 sets, you will mature enough to play with change of pace and ball speed. You got so much flare for a fast pace and hard hitting, then comes the time you elevate your game with chance of pace and ball speed. Wish you the best buddy. GLHF
I think Clay might suit your game the most, you have a heavy topspin forehand which is a big weapon on clay, and your weaker (yet really solid and consistent) backhand cant be exploited for winners like on indoors, and obviously you are insanely fast which should be a nightmare to deal with.
Härteis is no pushover, last year he took a set against Maxime Cressy in a challenger first round and Cressy is a top 70 ATP player now. Good job taking a set off him, that's promising for your journey.
Jeez man. Good job. You were so close to playing in the ATP, all you need is a little bit of push, which I absolutely believe in you to obtain. It was a good match, and I look forward to watching you play in the future!
What a great match! Thank you so much for sharing these videos because it inspires you g tennis players like me and many others to be better, and to give it their all in every match.
Very impressive against a tough opponent, you’ve definitely got the grit to keep at it. Wishing you lots of future success. I’m just about to watch your next match. P E A C E : )
I remember your narrow loses which lead to this great tournament for you and that awesome win in quals. Lots of positives to take away from italy, best of luck in germay man
Really impressive progress you’ve made, Felix. 💪 And super inspiring to see you put so much energy into this mission. You’re fighting for every game - very impressive. Good luck with the next tournament. 🤞
Good luck felix, can you try and contact dominic thiem. He is in a recovery stage from his wrist injury. But I'm sure you could both benefit from a friendly competitive hitting session together. It would allow you to get some experience with an atp former n3 pro. And he could practice and rediscover his former skills.
Well done, Felix that was an awesome match against a tough, consistent player. Clay really is a hustle. Your serves are immaculate, perhaps you could look to try much wider angles, not giving your opponent any reason to get into a rhythm - that means much more slice. Also, I would love to see you send slower, deeper, higher balls to the other side especially when you need to break your opponent's rhythm and gain yourself position/ more time. Best of luck for your next match.
I don't know too much of tennis but that last part of your comment was wat I was thinking, defensive shots should cover more of the court I think. Not giving yourself enough time against a player like this will get you punished I think. But for the rest, I wish I could play on 10% of this level and fitness 🙂
@@Coren999 Felix certainly is a talented player. Agree, the defensive element of the game is super important and something I am still learning after years of competitive tennis. That's the beauty of the game. I recall Federer saying that he was still learning and that was in his late thirties.

I actually think you have a pretty good game for clay. You are fast as hell. Just keep working on your fitness and you'll get there.
Very aggressive as well. If he developed a killer drop shot clay would be an even better surface for him too!
I was thinking the same thing. The clay really highlights his speed, agility and all around athleticism.
I wonder what his 40 yard dash is. His game is going to continue to improve at a rapid pace. It’ll be amazing to see, don’t blink.
16:38 perfect dropshot at a perfect time. I would love to see more of those

Underspin would have been a big problem for the tall lefty. He had a hitch in his backhand that has likely kept him from progressing to higher levels.
