And what would you do? They're in a different weight class entirely, 5guys would be decked if they tried to retaliate in some way that doesn't belong on the pitch. These people terrible, and it wouldn't surprise me if that one guy has some sort of anti-social personality disorder. Better to just play it through and go on to the next game, then be more prepared next you meet them and play around their dirty plays. Also hold the ref more accountable.

Past my playing days now, was a goalie. That Oakwood goalkeeper was a proper goalie, defiantly has some pro youth or decent 11 a’side experience.
Great footwork in working his positioning and keeping set for shots. Kept big and strong and closed space quickly.

I've never wanted to punch someone so hard in my entire life. I'm normally a very calm and easy person especially when it comes to football, but what these guys are doing is beyond me. I cannot praise you guys enough for not losing your heads and actually fighting them.

As others have said already, there's absolutely no reason why you wouldn't send this footage to the people organising the league. It was painful to watch, infuriating. Everything that the spirit of the game is not about was shown by that bunch of vile, immature little bullies. The fact that a league 1 pro refused to carry on playing speaks volumes about how frankly diabolical that behaviour was from every single member of that grim organisation. A bunch of bullies who went out there to intentionally hurt you guys, and I think Ryan is very lucky to come out of that without a serious injury.
Report them. They shouldn't be in that league, or playing football for that matter.

I'm 52. Only just packed up playing. I have total respect for the 5IVE GUYS FC team for keeping on going. Like may others have said it felt like very uncomfortable viewing. You have some really great natural footballers and play the ball around nicely. If I'd have been lucky enough to play against you I'd have given 100%, accepted I was going to be skinned a few times But I believe my commitment an decent technique would have earned your respect. We'd have definitely shaken hands after the game.

This match actually shows that in life bad guys often win. Everyone was looking to the referee to help but he didn't. So no matter how much skill and talent you have, someone else is playing dirty and winning. This match sums up a lot of life experiences, quite nicely.

Its the other 99% of stuff that didn't fire you up inside that you forget. When Taf was asked if it was harder than League One, you know he thought “yes” being that at least in Pro level theres mutual respect where you don’t actually want to see other players get injured no matter how intense the match is. As a qualified referee, from your highlights, I am disappointed with this referee's failure to control this game and put the safety of the players first. The number of players adopting aggressive attitudes and the seriousness of some of those fouls was beyond appalling. There should have been at least 4-5 two-minute breaks for players and "bogey boy" would have walked had I been on that game.

Right? It's pretty rare to see a game with such one-sided aggressors... In instances like this I make that whole team huddle up and explain that they've lost the benefit of the doubt going forward, warn them that red cards will be coming, and remind them that they agreed to play by a certain standard. I get paid by the hour, not by the game, and this match would have ended within minutes. It's one thing if two groups mutually raise the physicality, but I'm shocked there weren't more injuries here.

Where I grew up we didn't have cops for 25 miles and would use sports as an excuse to resolve the pecking order. We even had teachers who'd throw us in the bushes or end up there themselves. Authority means nothing without leverage.

we had a game like this back in the day when I was playing u14s, our coach took us off the field because the injury risk wasn't worth it at that age. Looking back it's wild another adult man coached his team in such a manner as to routinely try and intentionally injure others.
Oakwood players definitely have major insecurity issues. No one should be acting like that especially on a football pitch. Props to you guys 🙏you all played so well especially under so much pressure and disrespect. 5IVEGUYS are coming back for sure 🖤

Might be because I'm a lot older, but this was what I expected in every Saturday or Sunday league game in Wales back in the 90's, even more so in Rugby. Not the childish posturing and loud mouthing off, you'd get that quietly in the ear which was way more psychological lol, but physicality was always intense.
Got some skills though guys, maybe spend a bit of time in a boxing gym as a team and you'll be less intimidated by these types of people, it helps, and if they know that they'll think twice about messing with you.

TBH, I have been out of playing football for years, was looking at getting back in to playing during the summer but then I see vids like these with so many utter cunts bowling around looking for a fight, it reminds me why I quit in the first place. Every format of lower level football is full of bellends who didn't receive enough love as children. You don't see it in almost any other sport.
Dont stay clear of football because of this vid. At its best its the best thing itw. Teams like Oakwood are awful, but from our experience they TEND to be the minority. Deffo some horrible ppl out there, but also a lot of lovely ones

I was so angry throughout all of this, not because each and every one of the opponents was a piece of shit, but because the Referee is there to stop this from happening and he didn't do anything. He could have easily sent at least 2 guys off to calm them down or stop the game altogether as it was impossible to play in these conditions.
Anyway, keep your heads high, at least you tried to play clean and nice football!!

I think there is something lacking in a young mans life when he uses football as a cover for violence and is as quick to anger as the oakwood team were. Football is a beautiful way to spend time with your mates doing something constructive. 5 guys seem a genuinely lovely bunch of lads - you are the company you keep and you will all do great stuff in life because of the strength of character you all show. Stay out of trouble and have higher standards - you lost the game but won far far more. Good role models and well done. The pro seemed a lovely lad as well - best of luck to him in his career.
Its because young british men are earning 25K GBP a year with no hope of any change in their quality of life. Its desperate out there. Glad I left to earn some real money in the US.

Got recommended this video, Im 31 and can't play anymore due to surgery on my foot and ankle so had to stop playing. You lads are what a 5/6/7 a side team should be. Playing well, winning and losing as a team and clearly showing respect to your opponents.
The other team might have won, but they have made themselves look like idiots in the process.
