I've never wanted to punch someone so hard in my entire life. I'm normally a very calm and easy person especially when it comes to football, but what these guys are doing is beyond me. I cannot praise you guys enough for not losing your heads and actually fighting them. Setting good examples, all of you.

Good video. Reminded me why I only played 8-10 games in this type of league when I lived in London. Approx 50% of the games had this type of blatant aggression, sometimes bordering on open violence. Once the team we had beaten were waiting outside in the street for us because we took their top spot in the league (kinda reminiscent of this video). Ridiculous when all you wanna do is have a kick around. I live in Spain and it is NOTHING like that here in Barcelona. Anyway most of those dudes in pink seems like absolute tools, respect to the team in black for not responding.
A lot of that is the ref's fault. He was weak as shit. Needed the Jamaican ref in some of the other vids, who would light the smart-asses up if they got out of hand. Still, Oakwood guys played it up for the camera. Probably aren't that big of dicks otherwise. Aggro, controversy, and a solid nemesis make for good "tv". Probably 5ive's most popular vid.
As others have said already, there's absolutely no reason why you wouldn't send this footage to the people organising the league. It was painful to watch, infuriating. Everything that the spirit of the game is not about was shown by that bunch of vile, immature little bullies. The fact that a league 1 pro refused to carry on playing speaks volumes about how frankly diabolical that behaviour was from every single member of that grim organisation. A bunch of bullies who went out there to intentionally hurt you guys, and I think Ryan is very lucky to come out of that without a serious injury. Report them. They shouldn't be in that league, or playing football for that matter. Credit to you guys for keeping cool heads throughout though, class act!
We will always try and keep it football! When they go low we go high. Ry was VERY lucky to escape without a shattered knee, was horrible to hear him cry out, especially because he’s such a warrior on the pitch. Oakwood are a nasty bunch. The venue have now seen this video ✅

They’re not even the worst. Played in one league that just wouldn’t ban a team despite multiple instances of police being called over their team. (Conveniently the captain worked for the league provider…..)
Every league in England is full of these cunts stomping out your legs over a game because they've got nothing else going on in their lives. I got crunched in 5 a side in London and was out for 6 months with a torn ankle ligament.
5ive's edits are what makes it popular. Louis commentating like he's an announcer at his own in-game performance...brilliant. And all the retro-referneces make the guys seem 30 years wiser than their years. They really have a wide-spread appeal, whether you're from "Norf" London or Arizona.
I've just discovered your guys channel, Oakwood are exactly the reason why I gave up playing in my local league, absolute dickheads who have fragile egos and take everything too seriously and just try to gaslight the other team, it's great to see you guys play with the right attitude and spirit.

When Taf was asked if it was harder than League One, you know he thought “yes” being that at least in Pro level theres mutual respect where you don’t actually want to see other players get injured no matter how intense the match is. I'm over sixty years old now and I remember playing against a side who were basically just thugs who could play a bit,the ref that day did nothing to protect us I couldn't believe it, we ended up winning and the fire still rages inside me, I really wanted to be on that pitch with you lads even at my age, good luck guys enjoy your football

Its the other 99% of stuff that didn't fire you up inside that you forget. As a qualified referee, from your highlights, I am disappointed with this referee's failure to control this game and put the safety of the players first. The number of players adopting aggressive attitudes and the seriousness of some of those fouls was beyond appalling. There should have been at least 4-5 two-minute breaks for players and "bogey boy" would have walked had I been on that game.
Right? It's pretty rare to see a game with such one-sided aggressors... In instances like this I make that whole team huddle up and explain that they've lost the benefit of the doubt going forward, warn them that red cards will be coming, and remind them that they agreed to play by a certain standard. I get paid by the hour, not by the game, and this match would have ended within minutes. It's one thing if two groups mutually raise the physicality, but I'm shocked there weren't more injuries here.
Where I grew up we didn't have cops for 25 miles and would use sports as an excuse to resolve the pecking order. We even had teachers who'd throw us in the bushes or end up there themselves. Authority means nothing without leverage.

Got recommended this video, Im 31 and can't play anymore due to surgery on my foot and ankle so had to stop playing. You lads are what a 5/6/7 a side team should be. Playing well, winning and losing as a team and clearly showing respect to your opponents. The other team might have won, but they have made themselves look like idiots in the process. It's team like that who end up killing off leagues like this. They aren't playing football, they are out just to hurt people. Shouldn't be playing. When you have a pro walking off, you know it's bad and the ref should have done more but he looked rattled by them. Credit to you guys though, you kept your cool and still played some good stuff. New subscriber here, I watch your games with my son - you lads are excellent examples of playing the game the right way and not lowering yourself to the standards of that lot. Such a hard lesson to teach him that he'll encounter people who get on like that in life and there is no real explanation for why they're like that, but you guys responded with dignity and I was able to tell my boy "that's exactly how you deal with people like that". Keep up the great content, keep playing the 5ive Guys way. We started watching as a father/son bonding thing and now I'm hooked!
Unfortunately here the lesson is playing the right way might feel better but if the result isn't there then was it worth it, could be the nicest team in the league trying to play perfect football but be bottom of the league, pretty sure the dickheads who won felt better on the way out than the guys who try to play properly, nice guys finish last, its a fact

As a CB I used to love getting stuck into opponents like this and not feeling bad. Great discipline from your young lads compared to these excuses of "men" overall was a very entertaining video but they took the fun out of it. I used to love getting stuck in to players like these Oakwood tools. Leave a little bit extra on them without getting caught. Then when you got the ball skill then up and make them look like fools. Bit like Theo did
I think there is something lacking in a young mans life when he uses football as a cover for violence and is as quick to anger as the oakwood team were. Football is a beautiful way to spend time with your mates doing something constructive. 5 guys seem a genuinely lovely bunch of lads - you are the company you keep and you will all do great stuff in life because of the strength of character you all show. Stay out of trouble and have higher standards - you lost the game but won far far more. Good role models and well done. The pro seemed a lovely lad as well - best of luck to him in his career.

@@T3n50r I do agree that fighting them would be mostly pointless but weight is not really a good tell for who will win a fight, a guy who's smaller but has fighting experience (trained a combat sport) will almost definitely deck someone with none, and judging by their cockiness most of them haven't been punched in the face properly

About 20 years ago I was playing in a 6-a-side league and the best team in that league were just a bunch of bullies. Good players but awful humans. First game against us we got hammered and also intimidated. Couple of new signings for us and the next time we met we won and played them off the park. The funny thing was when we lost the first game we just took it on the chin, played the full 30mins and shook hands at the end. When THEY lost the second game they threw their toys out the pram basically refused to play when they were like 4-0 down. Bad losers and bad attitude. This Oakwood team reminds me of them. Hope they get battered in their next match.

I used to play in a team with mates from the boxing gym. We never got physical coz boxers generally don't outside the ring. We had one game just like this one where a bunch of serious bullies were trying to intimidate all the way through the game. My mate Andy decided to sleep a few of them in the car park after they ganged up on him and started to assault him. I'm pleased to say they never turned up for another match after that. Not condoning violence, but learning a way to defend yourself can really help you out of dangerous situations.

Yeah this was my first thought. Football in the UK is so toxic. This video was very triggering. We saw a guy banned for life for stamping on someone's head. I always took solace in the fact they probably were sad old losers and it meant a lot more to them. Too much.
I was so angry throughout all of this, not because each and every one of the opponents was a piece of shit, but because the Referee is there to stop this from happening and he didn't do anything. He could have easily sent at least 2 guys off to calm them down or stop the game altogether as it was impossible to play in these conditions. Anyway, keep your heads high, at least you tried to play clean and nice football!!

First time viewer here. This brings back lots of bad memories of playing Sunday league growing up and is the reason why I sacked it off in my mid 20s. These fellas are so toxic and sad. The comment about their rubbish lives obviously struck a nerve; intimidating people at the local five a side is all they have left. You are a good side and more than a match for these. Stopped playing in my mid-20s too, even casually (i.e. not a league) as those kinds of guys are there even in those games. I got invited along to a few evenings by colleagues who told me “it’s just for fun” and “you’ll be fine, nobody takes it seriously”, only to turn up and find they all take it very seriously and have no self-awareness to realize they do. I was there to get a bit of exercise and laugh at myself, but I’d get abused by own teammates for missing a tackle or whatever. It wasn’t worth it.
i’m proud of you guys for staying so composed in the game despite the oppositions lack of character, kept yourselves in the game despite their petty antics, and on another day this game is much closer of a result, scoreline didn’t reflect the performance imo, but their antics reflects their personalities very well, you’re miles more mature than these shit guys

Good video. Reminded me why I only played 8-10 games in this type of league when I lived in London. Approx 50% of the games had this type of blatant aggression, sometimes bordering on open violence. Once the team we had beaten were waiting outside in the street for us because we took their top spot in the league (kinda reminiscent of this video). Ridiculous when all you wanna do is have a kick around. I live in Spain and it is NOTHING like that here in Barcelona. Anyway most of those dudes in pink seems like absolute tools, respect to the team in black for not responding.
A lot of that is the ref's fault. He was weak as shit. Needed the Jamaican ref in some of the other vids, who would light the smart-asses up if they got out of hand. Still, Oakwood guys played it up for the camera. Probably aren't that big of dicks otherwise. Aggro, controversy, and a solid nemesis make for good "tv". Probably 5ive's most popular vid.

As others have said already, there's absolutely no reason why you wouldn't send this footage to the people organising the league. It was painful to watch, infuriating. Everything that the spirit of the game is not about was shown by that bunch of vile, immature little bullies. The fact that a league 1 pro refused to carry on playing speaks volumes about how frankly diabolical that behaviour was from every single member of that grim organisation. A bunch of bullies who went out there to intentionally hurt you guys, and I think Ryan is very lucky to come out of that without a serious injury.

As a qualified referee, from your highlights, I am disappointed with this referee's failure to control this game and put the safety of the players first. The number of players adopting aggressive attitudes and the seriousness of some of those fouls was beyond appalling. There should have been at least 4-5 two-minute breaks for players and "bogey boy" would have walked had I been on that game.

Right? It's pretty rare to see a game with such one-sided aggressors... In instances like this I make that whole team huddle up and explain that they've lost the benefit of the doubt going forward, warn them that red cards will be coming, and remind them that they agreed to play by a certain standard. I get paid by the hour, not by the game, and this match would have ended within minutes. It's one thing if two groups mutually raise the physicality, but I'm shocked there weren't more injuries here.

Got recommended this video, Im 31 and can't play anymore due to surgery on my foot and ankle so had to stop playing. You lads are what a 5/6/7 a side team should be. Playing well, winning and losing as a team and clearly showing respect to your opponents.

As a CB I used to love getting stuck into opponents like this and not feeling bad. Great discipline from your young lads compared to these excuses of "men" overall was a very entertaining video but they took the fun out of it. I think there is something lacking in a young mans life when he uses football as a cover for violence and is as quick to anger as the oakwood team were. Football is a beautiful way to spend time with your mates doing something constructive. 5 guys seem a genuinely lovely bunch of lads - you are the company you keep and you will all do great stuff in life because of the strength of character you all show. Stay out of trouble and have higher standards - you lost the game but won far far more. Good role models and well done. The pro seemed a lovely lad as well - best of luck to him in his career.

And what would you do? They're in a different weight class entirely, 5guys would be decked if they tried to retaliate in some way that doesn't belong on the pitch. These people terrible, and it wouldn't surprise me if that one guy has some sort of anti-social personality disorder. Better to just play it through and go on to the next game, then be more prepared next you meet them and play around their dirty plays. Also hold the ref more accountable.

About 20 years ago I was playing in a 6-a-side league and the best team in that league were just a bunch of bullies. Good players but awful humans. First game against us we got hammered and also intimidated. Couple of new signings for us and the next time we met we won and played them off the park. The funny thing was when we lost the first game we just took it on the chin, played the full 30mins and shook hands at the end. When THEY lost the second game they threw their toys out the pram basically refused to play when they were like 4-0 down. Bad losers and bad attitude. This Oakwood team reminds me of them. Hope they get battered in their next match.

By far this was the hardest video to watch. They weren’t a good side, they are top because they have a great keeper and they bully other teams. I used to play in a team with mates from the boxing gym. We never got physical coz boxers generally don't outside the ring. We had one game just like this one where a bunch of serious bullies were trying to intimidate all the way through the game. My mate Andy decided to sleep a few of them in the car park after they ganged up on him and started to assault him. I'm pleased to say they never turned up for another match after that. Not condoning violence, but learning a way to defend yourself can really help you out of dangerous situations.
The most embarrassing thing is that despite them kicking out, fouling, and generally being absolute dickheads throughout the game is that they absolutely lose their heads at the end of the game to a comment from Milo saying our lives good yours isn’t 😂 just baffling behaviour

Yeah this was my first thought. Football in the UK is so toxic. This video was very triggering. We saw a guy banned for life for stamping on someone's head. I always took solace in the fact they probably were sad old losers and it meant a lot more to them. Too much.

I was so angry throughout all of this, not because each and every one of the opponents was a piece of shit, but because the Referee is there to stop this from happening and he didn't do anything. He could have easily sent at least 2 guys off to calm them down or stop the game altogether as it was impossible to play in these conditions.
Anyway, keep your heads high, at least you tried to play clean and nice football!!

First time viewer here. This brings back lots of bad memories of playing Sunday league growing up and is the reason why I sacked it off in my mid 20s. These fellas are so toxic and sad. The comment about their rubbish lives obviously struck a nerve; intimidating people at the local five a side is all they have left.
You are a good side and more than a match for these. Keep playing the game how it should be played. I am now subscribed for the journey 👊🏻
Stopped playing in my mid-20s too, even casually (i.e. not a league) as those kinds of guys are there even in those games. I got invited along to a few evenings by colleagues who told me “it’s just for fun” and “you’ll be fine, nobody takes it seriously”, only to turn up and find they all take it very seriously and have no self-awareness to realize they do. I was there to get a bit of exercise and laugh at myself, but I’d get abused by own teammates for missing a tackle or whatever. It wasn’t worth it.
i’m proud of you guys for staying so composed in the game despite the oppositions lack of character, kept yourselves in the game despite their petty antics, and on another day this game is much closer of a result, scoreline didn’t reflect the performance imo, but their antics reflects their personalities very well, you’re miles more mature than these shit guys
