If you are still thinking about what to do with the interior of the mantle maybe you could use the tile that’s left from the kitchen. I think the shine would reflect the light from the fire and the color fits quite nicely 🧡✨
When you're doing only the top part of a wall, you can screw in a temporary straight edge to set your tile on, and not fight against gravity while the mortar takes hold !

BTW, I think you could remove the metal panel on front of dishwasher and have it powder coated in the same biscuit color as the sink (or the stove enamel color), then re-install it! It would probably cost you about $100 to do it and everything would match! Something to consider.❤️
I really don't think that biscuit color goes that well with the Silver Mist paint. We will have to see it next to the cabinets. If anything she should get it a front replacement the matching brass color.

For pretty spices I recommend being kind to the environment and buying your spices from a refilery or zero waste grocery store. You buy the amount you’d like and take it home in paper bags then put into containers of your choice. Instead of buying prepackaged spices just the throw out the packages. Obvi doesn’t include spices you already have hehe also it’s the one grocery store I love bc it’s sooooo organized and you don’t need to go once a week just every few months to stock up on dry goods :) 💕

Tiling tip! When you mix mortar or grout, have a clean buck of water beside them. then when your done mixing, put that big mixing head into the water and mix in the water to clean it! That way you don’t have to scrub much off, and hardly anything sticks.

I know it’s all done now, but they make caulk that matches grout. When I butt tile up against trim I always tape and caulk, it allows for a little expansion of the wood trim.

Hi @XO, Macenna in case you haven't thought of, if you are interested, they sell sheets of gold or brass etc etc to dress up the front of the dishwasher, so that all the "metals" details in the kitchen match. Depending on the panels of the fridge, I am not sure if you'll do wood or metal or in what color but the option is available and nobody will be able to tell. Just a thought. Xoxo.

you can remove the labels from your spice jars and replace with different labels that suit your aesthetic. that way, you can still use the glass jars the spices are in.
❤️Great tile job! In the future, use a sanded caulk in a matching color to the grout along the countertops and windows. Looks just like grout, gives you a super clean tape line, and has the stretch you need to prevent cracking.
I love the tile and I love your creativity with that spice rack. I personally would not put spices in it. I like all your cute things because you’ll be looking at it from the living room I like to have my spices in a drawer beside my stove. I can hardly wait for you to finish the doors. I look as if I was run over by a truck after completing the simplest projects... a fully loaded triple trailer truck with extra large tires, to be honest. I think you made the right choice on the tile. It's gorgeous with the color of the wood around your windows. I actually chose the one you're planning to use for your shower floor. I love what you chose!
liking it more then I thought I would.. but I defo think the tile needs to be brought up all the way.. the rent vent is so hidden and I t would POP with the tile on either side. its more cutting but I feel like in the long run it'll be SO pretty.

Hey!! I absolutely love your videos! Just a tip for tiling a wall: find exactly where you want your bottom row of tiles to land, and temporarily screw in a 2x4 horizontally so that your bottom row can sit exactly where they need to be, against the board, then build up from there and you won't have to fight gravity or have your tiles slide downwards throughout the installation process. Then, when the grout is set, just unscrew the 2x4 off the wall and voila!
Hi! How about a winerack in that extra island space, next to you little spice niche you created! You could finish off the back with the same stainedwood and make wine bottle cubbies! Light the top of it underneath for added interest & viola!

If you're going to put a painting above your stove you should put a very good varnish on the painting and the frame so that you can easily wipe off grease.
Have to remember that when you film can be out of order to when we see it, but YIKES, seeing the shadow of someone in the window behind you in the kitchen, FREAKED me out a bit, cause Romeo is in LA!! But obviously wasn't when you filmed this, took me aback for sure!! Lol!!

I don’t know if you did that but you should put silicone between tiles and countertop they usually have same color as grout and that is good to do .

Love love love it!!! Weird things I noticed - plug your pocket hole holes (you can stain the plugs too!) and fridge side tile is not even in height with the larder side! But beautiful none the less of course!!!! 10/10!

Love the backsplash but did you consider going all the way up and above the windows with it? Above the windows too would’ve been pretty with those hanging wall sconces. But whatever you do it’s always turned out pretty, love it.

Absolutely amazing as always. If I had one suggestion I’d paint the window frames a whiteish colour. Amazing work!
Tip: next time you start tile halfway up a wall, to fight gravity just screw a piece of 2x4(or any straight scrap wood) to the wall as a level guide
Backsplash looks soo good! I think it would look nice in the tiny gaps between the fridge cabinet and window casing and other cabinets and window casing to match the height above oven. It looks amazing either way can’t wait for last kitchen episode💙

This Wednesday has been the best. Finally had my last class until next semester. I also did my calc 2 final, nailed it and finished the last bit of hw I had for it. I have my chem final at home, I’m nearly done with all the hw I need to send. Then I see you posted two videos, this day got even better.
