    Here the Kawa is offered with 2 years warranty and the Suzuki with 5. The Suzuki can be had far cheaper and it just seems to be a more agile bike to me so I am going Suzuki.

    The problem with Kawasaki is their designs are always so progressive that they don't age well. I like the brand, but I'd much rather buy an old suzuki gsxr than a ninja. They just look horrendous. And it used to be my favourite sports bike when I was a kid. Just shows that taste changes over time lol

  • @mandmmilling3716
    @mandmmilling3716 2 года назад +7

    I have logged lots of miles on both. Because of this, I ended up buying my own 2022 gsxs 750. It's a better overall package. And, a lot of the "choppiness" is coming from the ECU tune. Spend 250 bucks and send it to MooreMaffia for a reflash. The gsxs are tuned really lean from the factory and have other emission issues that can be turned off or adjusted. The bike comes alive and becomes way more ridable after the reflash.
    For all the HP nuts out there saying but the kawi is faster...Of course, it is. 948cc vs 749cc. Not really a fair comparison. That's like comparing an R7 to an R1. You should be more impressed that a zuki is giving up all those CCs and still running with the kawi.
    I have a 2014 R1 and a 2016 Husky FE501s with a supermoto kit. Both programmed, desmogged, and uncorked. I haven't thrown a leg over either of them since I bought the GSXS (1500 miles ago). It's that good.

    Cool review. Where I live the Suzuki is stg1750 cheaper. I think the gear box is more precise and sharper. The Z in like an automatic, leave it in one gear from way down low to fast. For me it is a bit much power and the GSX gives you more opportunity to stretch the bike out and is easy to throw around in the city. Both great bikes for the money. The GSX needs a small screen to even out the airflow. The Z doesn't. I think I will buy the GSX.

Rider modes don't bother me I wouldn't need any power reduction the bike is smooth enough low down, as I'm 6'2 sitting in the bike feels more natural than sat over it (like on the suzuki felt over the bars) Great bike! I'm 6-2, 34 inseam, 200 lb riding. I agree with you guys on the Z900. I traded on MT-09 and frankly, both models have their likes and hates. Seems like it would take the same amount of money to fix both, beyond original. I do miss the 4.5 gallon tank, the stable chassis. But I don't miss the terrible seat and folded up knees. MT-09 engine is a riot, but that also completely overtakes the chassis and suspension, as well stock fuel/throttle calibration makes your arm cramp up trying to steady it. B-mode is the only solution to chill a bit. MT-09 does 47 mpg and Z900 did 43 mpg when ridden basically the same way.

    The Z900’s actual engine size is 949cc’s. Why do a comparo w/ a bike that’s basically 200cc’s smaller?
    Should compare the Z900 (I bought my 2019 in April - fantastic bike!) w/ the MT09, or other 1000cc bikes.
    The Z900 doesn’t have all the bells & whistles as some of its competitors - but for $8,700, pound-for-pound (or would that be, horsepower-for-horse power?)..... dollar-for-dollar, the Z900 beats them all.

    Both have good and bad points. But the Suzuki definitely sounds a lot better when riding. I just wish it would be a couple of kilos lighter and maybe increase the rev limiter by 250 RPMs so you could have a bit more revs to play with and enjoy that roar.

    • @exothermal.sprocket
      @exothermal.sprocket 5 лет назад +1

      Have done some research. Swapping for full exhaust on the Z900 drops an easy 14 pounds. I'm sure the Suzuki would honestly come similar. Drop 5 pounds more on lithium battery. Swap out weighted footpegs on the Z900 drop a pound or two more. These bikes are saddled with stupid heavy stuff easily remedied. Most of the time an ECU flash allows for a 200-500 RPM redline increase without any problems, which may or may not actually give you more power. All that has to be figured on a dyno with tuning.

    • @Cpt.LuckyMan

    The Z900 is a tame pedestrian made to purpose. The GSX-S engine is the K5 GIXXER race engine from 2005-2008 tuned down to fit in to the commeon street traffic ;-)

  • @MrPrash78
    @MrPrash78 6 лет назад +1

    Liked it short n sweet. But honestly, Comparison of 750 to 900 is unfair. You should stick to 100/150cc range difference. 500-650cc/650-750cc/700-800cc/800-1000cc/900-1100cc etc 😊 Or Entire middleweight Or just liter class, just IMO.

      @MGTOW DIRT BIKER Back in the 1990's they sleeved engines. That's a thing of the past. Today it's proprietary cams, heads, and cylinder bank, with proprietary pistons. The cylinders get a hardness coating on the aluminum.
      948 has the same stroke as the 1043, but smaller diameter bore. The effect is greater intake velocity at lower RPM= more efficient combustion and torque without revs.

    Amongst all the nakeds, I still say the Kawasaki Z series ie the Z800, Z900 and Z1000 are stunning looks macho with the transformer head lamp and fatty fuel tank. That should be the features and design of muscle naked, meant for fun, easy and happy riding, daily use in towns and cities along the winding conering hilly roads. It is not for racing or on track, as the RR versions are already meant for track.

      I agree. I had one the other year. Every crack in the road surface jarred me. Frost heaves (I live in north USA) flung my butt into the air and had me howl in my helmet. I'm 200 pounds with riding gear. Springs were a bit too stiff and damping quality stunk. Rebound adjustments did nothing. Factor springs and damping circuits aftermarket to fix all of that. Same as any bike in this category frankly, outside the 765RS.

    To me, neither of these bikes make sense in a world where the MT-09 exists. It's on a whole other level. The other Japanese manufacturers need to step up their naked game.

    • @kalel33
      @kalel33 5 лет назад +3

      The MT-09 has a better engine, definitely, but the suspension, even though it's been upgraded, is still subpar against the competition. If we're talking which one I'd rather ride in the twisties then the MT-09 would be lower on the list, unless I spent a couple of grand on a suspension.

    • @StateOfMind63
      @StateOfMind63 4 года назад +1

      I do like 3 cylinders but the MT-09 has terrifying bouncy castle-like suspension and many people also don't want all the fancy modes and electronics that come with it. I just want to get on and ride and not worry about all the new technology. For me, that's why i prefer the Suzuki and its bulletproof engine.

    • @Sunrazor
      @Sunrazor 3 года назад

      Besides having a horrible suspension the MT-09 is seriously hard to ride with a decent flow. The A-mode is way to snatchy and the only mode that actually gives full power. The normal mode restricts power and is still to snatchy. The B-mode is starting to get fine response wise but doesn't give you the full grunt of the engine which is the best part.
