According to cycle-ergo website, my 6-2" and 34" inseam body sees the following: 2015 GSX-S750: 17° forward lean 70° knee angle 73° hip angle 2016 GSX-S1000: 13° forward lean 71° knee angle 78° hip angle The 1000 has slightly more relaxed ergos. I'm sure if you wanted to play around with new handlebars, seats, and rearsets any of these factors could be made different.
My review of the GSX-S 750 VS 1000 I rode the 750 and was horribly disappointed. I felt like I was whipping a pig and wringing its neck to get much out of it. The 1000? Everything was right there in terms of power and push. Getting into triple digits was absolutely effortless. Between the two, I didn't notice any difference in handling
Here's what I'd like. A gsx-s 750 with an aluminium chassis, fully adjustable suspensions and that's it. This 1000 version is very tempting though, everything is easy and comfortable, especially if you are small. It fits my size perfectly.
Why, in 2017, are all new bikes not all fitted with LED headlights? Kudos for Suzuki not having "winky" headlights, where there are two headlamps and it perpetually looks like one bulb is burnt out on low beam.
I hate led headlights with a passion. Cars flash you every time you go over a bump or the driver has their hand up shielding their eyes. How safe is that?
Agreed if not setup or cheap LEDs. I run them on my Tuono with no glare, no cars ever flash and a huge improvement in lighting. Almost comparable to my MV that ran a H4 Xenon
I went to Haslemere Motorcycles on Friday and tested both these bikes. I found the 1000 too much and I'm gonna go for the 750. I noticed really smooth downshift, thanks for letting me know it was the slipper clutch.
@ 3:35 YUP it's got plenty of power. I put this to the test the other day and holy shit, hold on to your balls. This is the most underrated bike ever. This bike is beast. It hauls ass. I'm really enjoying my past 3 months with it as a new owner of a 2016 gsx s1000f. The best bike i've owned, EVER. So underrated.
as for fuel economy, if you ride both sensibly on a longer run the 750 would give you 60/63mpg ( well my old GSR 750 does) My 2015 Thou will get you 55mpg, however if you ride a little bit enthusiastically the 750 will drop to mid 50s easily, the Thou will go to mid 40s, unless you go really stupid they will go even further down on consumption obviously
Rode the F version last year and didn't notice the throttle. I'm off to the Suzuki cafe tour test ride day thing this weekend so will see how the 2017 S model compares.
Despite the extra displacement put it in TC 3 and it goes off like a rattlesnake. I heard what said about usable rpm when deciding between the two. Well low\mid range wins out on the street. Even in a straight line drag with the R1000 the S holds it own for a time before the R hauls it in. The 750 didn't have a chance. I can ride the litre like a nutter with TC on (using everything above 8000rpm where the bike just goes berserk) and lighting TC frequently. As for the brake play well it can be adjusted out easily and if you really want bite the 2018 has upgraded brake lines. Yea u would get use to it, it's called 'brake trailing'. Something every good rider knows. Yes the 750 has better stability mid corner but it don't take long to feel safe, secure and as u say 'planted'. The Z is totally blacked out. Yes, not advisable except on track (TC off). You aren't pushing hard enough, i can use all the RPM easily on setting 3, it's really hard to get it all wrong. Worst i had (so far) was a turn in low slide due to gravel mid corner at 140kms. I thought i was a cropper but TC saved the day. As for using the higher RPM It depends on what gear your ramping up in. I enjoyed your 2017 thoughts video. Ride safe spicy110.
Believe it or not for the 2018 models the 750 is heavier and has a taller seat height. The 1000 has a little bit longer wheelbase and is a yad bit wider of course but not by much. Haven't been able to jump on the 750 yet but ever owner I've spoken too absolutely loves it
Have you tried the new Kawi Z900. I tried one the other day and I must say what a great bike it is. It sits, power wise between the Suzi 750 and 1000 and it weighs slightly less than the 750. Steering is super quick and the handling is just great. It's suspension I think is superior to the Suzuki's, being sporty but compliant. Anyway, try one if you get the chance.
Can anything be done about the play in the front break? Great review very well presented and very informative just wish you would change your camera angle just so we can see the bars and instruments panal.
The snatchy throttle is real, I've got a 2018 GSXS-1000Z and the damn thing is aggressive with the on-off. I really feel like it's mainly the extremely hard suspension. I had my suspension professionally tuned by Dave Moss, and I've felt a difference of how that throttle response affects the bike.
I actually prefer the 1000 because it's more my kind of bike. I like bigger feeling more comfortable bikes and the 1000 fits me like a glove, I like the easy roll-on torque and even though it's 1000 I find I ride it slower than the 750. The 750 is a fantastically fun bike that begs you to rev the hell out of it, meaning I find I push it more than I do the 1000. The big thing for me on the 750 is the seat - it's too small!
I've got the GSR750 from 2014... I thin being a fat bloke that the GSX-S1000 would be better suited to me, as the higher torque would help. Great review though buddy... I'm sold on this bike!
Martin Carey I'm exactly the same. My 2016 GSR750 just got written off so buying the GSXS1000z this week. I felt a little bit too big on the 750 at 17 stone. I'm a bit lighter now but even before my "off" I felt I was missing a bit of power. Can't wait for next week. So excited to get on the 1000. (Matt black limited edition too - looks great)

Hello mate, I'm still fighting between the 750 or the 1000 which one to get. I want to be able to enjoy the ride without any hard trouble on the road or on the freeway. Please help...
Both will do it fine but I am assuming from the use of freeway you are in the US? That's changes things a little has you have such big roads and distances. I can understand the 1000 more in the US.
@@spicy110 Yes, I live in California (US) where there are lots of freeways and country roads and so on. If I was to get a 750 would that do well on the freeway or the 1000 is the choice for that. I just one to get a bike to ride once and awhile 😁
@spicy110 yow sir, Im getting my first big bike this week and I'm thinking between the cb650f and gsx s750 ( both 2018 models ) do you have any inputs about these two bikes. And what is your choice between them ?
Been to look at one of these today in matte black on a 67 plate. Currently own an 11 plate Xj6n. They're offering £2100 for part exchange. Would like something for longer journeys without being too buzzy. Do you recommend? Couldn't test as they'd taken off the gear selector (??). Booked in for a test this weekend!
@msdrivingnutrition Wondering if you got the S1000 or even S750 in the end, and if so, could you share your thoughts coming from the XJ6N. On an XJ6N for a year and considering either of the GSX S’ as an upgrade at some stage when I get the finances up. Thanks
@@warriorfit7517 I can't really speak for the S750 as I've never been on one. The XJ6N was a great all rounder that suited my needs as a first bike. It was good at everything but not the greatest. It was easy to ride meaning it was easy to exploit its power and handling which became its downfall. It lost its fun factor and left me wanting more. The S1000 was the answer. It's a brilliant all rounder that will suit all of my needs. A bigger capacity bike was always going to be less involving and harder to exploit but that means it's always going to reward me as my riding experience and skills improve. Its suspension and brakes make it far better to ride on the twisties and its torque delivery brings a different meaning to drop a gear and dissappear in comparison to the XJ6N. Neither bike has given me any problems with reliability or build quality but I'd say the S1000 is better due to its brakes, suspension and super slick gearbox. But you'd expect that from a bigger, sportier bike. Fun factor is dependent on experience. You can exploit the XJ6N but that becomes its downfall, it leaves you wanting more. The S1000 will give me more as I learn to improve and exploit my skills as a rider. It is also dependent upon your riding style. If you prefer a quick and involving country road blast perhaps upgrading to the S750 would be better and a more involved ride for you. If you plan on longer journeys I'd choose the S1000. Comfort depends on riding style too, the XJ6N had a comfy seat, the suspension was not too firm (although the front forks didn't inspire confidence and felt a bit too soft at times) and the riding position was good. Its only downfall was I found it too revvy and buzzy for long journeys. The S1000 is firmer but still comfortable. The suspension and brakes give more confidence and feedback. But where it excels is high speed comfort. Its quieter, feels more refined and the power and torque make it effortless. I'd imagine the S750 being more biased towards a fun country road blast with a bit of city/town commuting as it has the suspension and brakes that the XJ6N lacks but not the power and torque of the S1000 making it more exploitable. I love the back to basics feel both bikes give. I don't like newer bikes with too many driving aids as I want the bike to remind me to calm down if I'm being a plonker! All are still more economical and cheaper to run than your average car. Although I will say I fill the S1000 twice as much as I did the XJ6N. But that could be down to the longer journeys I can now enjoy! I hope this helps. Ultimately the S750 will do everything the XJ6N could do, but better. If you plan on longer journeys then choose the S1000. Test them both and see which fits you best. I'm glad I chose the S1000 and I have zero regrets! Whichever you choose, ride safe and enjoy!
Nice informative review & some good camera angles (all of which Im useless at on my videos) however unless you ride different with that camera off you would never want more than 600-750 and at 4:22 thats not going to get the slipper really working. Im just being honest dude.
Bloody el, bangin on about the 750! Why review this if your going on about that? I know we all compare but not all of us want a 750 we we a 1000 which is why we watch these.
Just written off my GSR750 (2016 moto gp) so with the payout I've just put a deposit on the Matt black 1000z yesterday. Probably should of watched this first but that 750 was incredible. So I figured this would suit and I wanted more power and I felt too big on the 750. Can you adjust the front break leaver so it's more ....... well..... better!!??
DaveyBoy what do you think of your new bike vs your last one. Where I am it is super hard to get test rides. I have the 2015 US version of the gsr 750 (I bought it as a hold over just last fall for a steal). Sometimes I wonder if I would like just a bit more power (probably wouldn't need 1000 level performance for what I like but the new 750 probably is just that bit more). Anyway, I always wonder how manuverable the 1000s feep like compared to the 750s. Everything is about compromise, but it sure would be nice to be able to figure out what the 1000s really feel like (been riding 21 years on the road, but haven't got to ride one yet).
Thanks for sharing! I already have a GSXS750z and love everything about it, but I am debating on whether I should get another s750 for my fiancé or give her my s750 and grab myself a GSXS1000. I understand you enjoy the s750 all in all, and you make plenty of fair points. But the one point you forgot to mention was the Alpha male mentality; is it worth it for a few more inches in the mental package? lol
From what I here the 2018's are much better all around. Small changes but in the right places. The faired version is on the top of my list. Currently ride a 2013 fz6r and it would be a huge upgrade.
The 2018 models are listed on the Suzuki website. Also, according to the website, the GSX-S1000 is 9 lbs lighter than the GSX-S750. However, I trust your judgement that the 750 feels lighter to ride.
Thoughts on the GSXS 1000 for a first bike? I’m 36, got my full license back in November last year. Past my Mod 1 & 2 on a CB650R and found it lacking. Nice vid 👍
I have two answers, if you think you can control yourself on it and you don't have a physical response to anger or a short temper. Then there is no reason you can't go for a 1000cc at your age, tho I recon the insurance would be high for the first few years. However and this is my second answer that is more opinion based. I too am 36, been riding over 13 years and have ridden a lot of bikes. I can honestly say 1000cc bike for the uk roads are IMO too much. You can never really use the engine, 2nd gear top end of the revs is licence losing speeds. The CBR650f is not a slow bike and I doubt in training you would have ever got close to feeling what performance it had to offer. I would also say unless you have a lot of experience on larger cc bikes already somehow, there is no way you will be getting a standard 600cc anywhere close to its limits, keeping in mind our roads are full of corners. It is the classic don't try and run before you can walk. It is not simple to answer as i don't know your personality and skill level so please take no offence, I have just tried to cover all bases.
I never really understood the allurement of a motorcycle without a windshield. I've tried and owned several, and being blasted with wind and wind noise isn't much fun. How do you pro-nakeds mitigate or deal with this, or rationalize it off as a pro to owning a fairingless/windshieldess bike over something that has some protection?
Hi, I didn't understand, in the video you say that the 750 is lighter but on the technical data sheets it is the opposite: the 1000 weighs less. So, despite the fact that the 750 weighs more, is it more agile on the go than the 1000?
spicy110 if you can max it out in the highway it would be much appreciated. I heard conflicting report about the top speed. since its not even a fast bike, I figure it won't even be more than 75mph. should be safe...
Boz I know this is old, but alot of times bigger motorcycles that weigh less feel heavier when turning due to the affects of sprung and unsprung weight. It confused me alot as to why bikes felt different until someone explained it. But you are right about total weight though
Just test rode a 2015 mt09 and a 2015 gsxs1000, but ended up going with the Suzuki. Mt has a lot of torque everywhere but the gsxs is definitely a smoother ride of the two
Yes this has been addressed, I was wrong about the actual figures but i am very much about feel and it felt different. What it feels like is far more important than the figures say. 👍
You're never going to really find a bike that's intended for your height. That's why I own a Supermoto it's the tallest bike pretty much. I can't add anything other than what I've said in this video as it was so long ago. But my opinion was that the 750 is definitely the better bike. But that's just my opinion and tastes if you're genuinely considering the two just test ride both.
i dont understand. why stop at the 750 when u can get a 1000? makes no sense. saying that you can use all the 750 power is just another way of saying it doesnt have enough, to me.
Its nice not to have to much power 🤦🏽♂️almost all ppl want powerrrrrrrr!!!!!! 3:00 ive always riden 1000’S my first bike was gsxr1000.. ive driven my friends 600 and 750 and eeeeh not enough power i have to literally do full throttle to feel the power :/ on them..
@@spicy110 personal weigh will never influence how the actual bike feels versus another. Sure the suspension will react to rider weight but if anything due to its softer, less adjustable nature, this would only go to make the 750 feel even heavier. Don't take it so personally, no need to go getting all defensive. You are a vlogger in the publics eye and post publicly for folk to comment. For your info, i have the 1000 and my Mrs, the 750 and therefore not just sat on a computer✌
New lever (maybe a master), if that doesn't work, braided lines and some better pads, problemo solved 👍 still... would have been better they worked from the factory 🤔
+mpstein1976 hmm well covering the levers is normally something new riders have an issue with as they are taught not to do it because they have a tendency to panic brake. That's not something I'm going to do as I've been riding for nearly 10 years it's just something I do. And many others do too
Meh just get a z900, 950cc i4, makes 125 hp, liter bike that doesnt cost as much and is probably easier to insure. the words GSX and 1000 together scare insurance companies
The extra money for the gsx makes sense when considering suzuki has been proven one of- if not THE most reliable motorcycle manufacturer for well over a decade. Not too mention the engine in the 1000 is the same one used in the flagship k5 gsxr. With that said the z's are sick and i have no hate. Actually really want to check out the xsr 900
If only I had a pound/euro for every time I've heard you are 6ft 4in I would take the brave and loyal Cecil Pompasarse the 3rd and 3/5ths on a Frenchman chasing holiday😂😂😂😂😂😇😇

17° forward lean
70° knee angle
73° hip angle
2016 GSX-S1000:
13° forward lean
71° knee angle
78° hip angle
The 1000 has slightly more relaxed ergos. I'm sure if you wanted to play around with new handlebars, seats, and rearsets any of these factors could be made different.

+Birky 41 I show the more legal stuff.
Brakes probably need re-bleeding which is why lever is sloppy.
So what’s this 1000 like compared to the newer gsxs you tested with the odd headlight?
The 1k can be had for an extra £500 the swing arm and Brembo's are worth that so the extra power is free!
+U B SLO I prefer the brakes on the 750 without that inch of take up.
May just be a feel thing they seem good to me so far.
Bloody el, bangin on about the 750! Why review this if your going on about that?
I know we all compare but not all of us want a 750 we we a 1000 which is why we watch these.
Because I have reviewed the 1000F in full and its basically the same bike.
Everything is about compromise, but it sure would be nice to be able to figure out what the 1000s really feel like (been riding 21 years on the road, but haven't got to ride one yet).
love the video mate I own the GSXS1000 KEEP IT UP
Thanks for sharing! I already have a GSXS750z and love everything about it, but I am debating on whether I should get another s750 for my fiancé or give her my s750 and grab myself a GSXS1000. I understand you enjoy the s750 all in all, and you make plenty of fair points. But the one point you forgot to mention was the Alpha male mentality; is it worth it for a few more inches in the mental package? lol
I think so. Plus the power. Even if you don't use it, it can get you out of some harry situations. Like other drivers. Power has saved me a lot.
Good review.
Any chance of some details on your helmet cameras pls. And how you power them.
Info in description. 👍
10:19 looks like you have done this before :D nice smooth action there.
Great review by the way mate
From what I here the 2018's are much better all around. Small changes but in the right places. The faired version is on the top of my list. Currently ride a 2013 fz6r and it would be a huge upgrade.
are you from the future?
The 2018 models are listed on the Suzuki website. Also, according to the website, the GSX-S1000 is 9 lbs lighter than the GSX-S750. However, I trust your judgement that the 750 feels lighter to ride.
have a go on the fz1 fazer, I've got one and have friends with the gsxs or similar and there no quicker but a lot more money.
Cornish_ Boy They would be more expensive since the Fazer is discontinued so you'd be buying second hand.
spicy110 motorcycle.com article. And yes yes I am.
I bet u wrecked it.
@@outquick nope
I never really understood the allurement of a motorcycle without a windshield. I've tried and owned several, and being blasted with wind and wind noise isn't much fun. How do you pro-nakeds mitigate or deal with this, or rationalize it off as a pro to owning a fairingless/windshieldess bike over something that has some protection?
Honestly at 6'4 no bike keeps the wind off me, so I really can answer that myself haha
I have owned 4 naked bikes, I put a small screen on, does a great job of deflecting the wind off your chest, does the trick 👍
What helmet camera are you using? The quality is excellent
Looks like a Drift Ghost S
The 1000 is about 4 kilos lighter than 750..
Actual weight and feeling of weight are 2 different things. Obviously I didn't put this thing on a scale so I can only go on feel.
@Thgt Ggyh checked suzuki.de and it says 213 kg for the 750 and 215 for the 1000, so it's not huge but it is lighter
Hi, I didn't understand, in the video you say that the 750 is lighter but on the technical data sheets it is the opposite: the 1000 weighs less. So, despite the fact that the 750 weighs more, is it more agile on the go than the 1000?
Yeah that was an error. It 750 defo feel lighter. This has already been addressed in the comments years ago.
@@spicy110 Thanks for the reply. last question, where would the passenger be more comfortable?
Will you, by any chance, review Suzuki's GSX250R when it releases?
+Torrent yes it's planned I'm just waiting for it!
spicy110 if you can max it out in the highway it would be much appreciated. I heard conflicting report about the top speed. since its not even a fast bike, I figure it won't even be more than 75mph. should be safe...
The 1000 is actually lighter than the 750.
Boz I know this is old, but alot of times bigger motorcycles that weigh less feel heavier when turning due to the affects of sprung and unsprung weight. It confused me alot as to why bikes felt different until someone explained it. But you are right about total weight though
Good review mate.
Test rode the 750 and that was rapid, this looks bonkers in the best way.
If you want grunt it's got all you will ever need on the road and a lot more besides! 👍
Can I beat almost anything on the road with the 750
I have just subscribed. Have you ridden the MT-09? If so, does this bike pick up as well as the 09 from relatively low down the rev range?
+1990 no sadly not done the mt09 yet plan to tho
Just test rode a 2015 mt09 and a 2015 gsxs1000, but ended up going with the Suzuki. Mt has a lot of torque everywhere but the gsxs is definitely a smoother ride of the two
imagine not knowing what a K5 is...
I rode the gsx-s 750 at a demo ride. Comfy and nice but could be more powerful. I also ride a zx9 so the power of the 1000 would suit me better.
you are Valentino Rossi?
Strange the commenting about weight. According to the specs the 1000 is 209kg wet while the 750 is 213kg...
Yes this has been addressed, I was wrong about the actual figures but i am very much about feel and it felt different. What it feels like is far more important than the figures say. 👍
@@spicy110 That's true. I have tried neither of these two but are very interested in the 1000 for the upcoming season. Appretiated your review :)
will you be doing a review on the sinnis apache smr?
if not what are your thoughts on it?
+RhonddaRider 77 no it doesn't interest me, it's a bike from 2015 with a few updates for euro4.
spicy110
cheers for the reply.
The wankers at MCN started the snatchy throttle bollocks .
Great review.... Thanks.
Snatchy throttle bollocks ?
did you get your monetisation back ?
In your review of the gsxs750 you said you are 6'4", you would still choose the 750 though. Are you too tall for that bike?
You're never going to really find a bike that's intended for your height. That's why I own a Supermoto it's the tallest bike pretty much. I can't add anything other than what I've said in this video as it was so long ago. But my opinion was that the 750 is definitely the better bike. But that's just my opinion and tastes if you're genuinely considering the two just test ride both.
The 750 has a taller seat height
i dont understand. why stop at the 750 when u can get a 1000? makes no sense. saying that you can use all the 750 power is just another way of saying it doesnt have enough, to me.
Do you ride on UK roads?
@@spicy110 australian roads
Looks like an amazing bike but I'm too buyist for the zx6r
Its nice not to have to much power 🤦🏽♂️almost all ppl want powerrrrrrrr!!!!!! 3:00 ive always riden 1000’S my first bike was gsxr1000.. ive driven my friends 600 and 750 and eeeeh not enough power i have to literally do full throttle to feel the power :/ on them..
gsxs 1000 looks like its got a large angry birds unibrow over its headlights as opposed to the nice looking gsxs 750 front
I couldn't watch the whole review because I was getting motion sickness by the constantly moving camera. Good review though
Another way of describing a snatchy throttle is a responsive throttle.
There is a difference, starchy throttles no matter how smooth you are jerk somewhat.
Have cameras come a long way in the last 4 years or did you just have shit cameras 4 years ago?
Both.
Great video bro 👍 Just subbed
+The Spiderman thanks and welcome 😀
spicy110 My pleasure 😊 That woman biker was fit 😉
750 is actually heavier to the tune of 5kg, research...
Much easier sat at a computer than on the bike. I miss remembered that one but 5kg is a variable between riders easy.
Is this UK? I've been UK in May , really love UK , make my memory come back again
+陳小慈 yes this is Hampshire UK
lovely country
Where have you been in the UK.dont get Delluded by some parts nice.
the 1000s better. New model at least.
Nice looking bike
You yelled out Jesus... I thought he must of stepped out in front of you when you wound 3rd gear
shame the brakes feel has gone the 750 was perfect!
+Lamb Chop Rides yep! The are instant no take up at all.
New lever (maybe a master), if that doesn't work, braided lines and some better pads, problemo solved 👍 still... would have been better they worked from the factory 🤔
Also sometimes factory brake setups could use a good bleed job to firm things up.
The 750 is actually lighter than the 1000😳
No if you read the comments that is incorrect. The 750 is 4kgs heavier however to ride I found the 750 to feel lighter.
1000 looks better
Lever groping was making me feel weird
+mpstein1976 new rider?
spicy110 nope 17 years. New bike coming though Z900
+mpstein1976 hmm well covering the levers is normally something new riders have an issue with as they are taught not to do it because they have a tendency to panic brake. That's not something I'm going to do as I've been riding for nearly 10 years it's just something I do. And many others do too
+mpstein1976 hang on you're talking about when I was off the bike!!! Bahahahababaha
I meant when pointing out the black coating not when you were riding 🤔stroking them in a suggestive manner
750 inst lighter
Yes this has been covered a few times in the comments. However isn't a 4kg difference? It defo feels a lot more than 4kgs less.
Too small but very stiff, hey you can't have it all 😜😜
Id want the 750-just enuff toruqe n speed

Great, another bike I can legally ride but can't afford 😂😂😂😂😂

Suzuki takes payments.... and you can always sell a kidney and pay cash...

If only I had a pound/euro for every time I've heard you are 6ft 4in I would take the brave and loyal Cecil Pompasarse the 3rd and 3/5ths on a Frenchman chasing holiday😂😂😂😂😂😇😇
