    I remember doing stuff just like that when my husband and I bought an old fixer-upper. Most people thought it was a tearer-downer. I was pregnant and just one of the projects was when I had to get the very old, ugly deteriorating and HEAVY wool rug up and out of the house. I had to cut it into small enough pieces so I could carry it to the dumpster. You just do it till is gets done. And then you feel good about what you did!
    You did good girlfriend!

I really hope with some saw dust or kitty litter the fuel and smell can be drawn out of that space. The flooring and walls appear to be very sturdy and would make a good base structure for something. The dense moss on the ground all around has so many fantastic uses! It's great for insulation and gardening. It’s was a mangled charred mess, but was so glad it was gone out of my back yard. The neighbor had leta brush fire get out of hand. We were very upset about loosing our boat and a stack of mahogany wood pieces and numerous other tools. At the metal recycling place they had a giant swinging magnet that reached into my trailer and picked it up.

    The difference in batteries: Standard batteries will corrode and leak out over time. Industrial or Super Heavy Duty batteries have sealing gaskets and are made to better specs. So if you need them to sit a while, get the better grade. But if you blow through batteries really fast, get the cheap ones. I am surprised there was not a basement. Great work! What a trooper!

      Thank the lord there wasn't a basement can't imagine the flooding and the gunk. Especially from the leaked gas. The film it might have left ontop of the water. 🤢 It would've had to been pumped out or at least that's the only thing I could imagine being done to get it all out. Then how would you seal it up so it doesn't happen again oh and not to mention trying to dry the area out so it docent mold or corrode faster. 😵‍💫🤯 What a nightmare that would've been.

      It’s interesting when you see how much time and energy people put into preparing for survival in case the world “ends” and then it doesn’t. It always makes me wonder if they spent the same energy on living and enjoying the moment. I was talking to a prepper the other day, and I said, frankly if the world ends up like the day of the comet and there are no puppies, bbq with friends, beach sunsets, camping around a fire, horseback rides, laughing with kids over a board game I am not sure I want to survive. He looked at me and said , “gosh, I never thought of it that way.” But, like everything, to each own. I did like his book choices! Definitely not light reading.

    • @BorealSelfReliance
      @BorealSelfReliance 2 года назад

      @@kmsch986 Yeah -- I was part of and friends (IRL) with a handful of the original folks that called themselves "preppers" on RUclips. For me having some common sense preparedness (Skills, Food Storage, secondary Heat Sources, et al.). It was interesting to watch that original "Prepper" movement burn out (like the "Patriots" and "Survivalists") before them the more sane ones started calling themselves "Homesteaders" (...eventually that was corrupted with doomer crap too). The current economic situation has a resurgence of "Preppers". Fortunately, any bit of the toxic doomer crap didn't stick with me though I have seen quite a few folks slip into worse and worse delusions about the state of the world and desiring authoritarian political solutions. The books were interesting to me as I see some echos of myself (the bookshelf next to me has some botany textbooks, Bushcraft books by Mors Kohanski, and assorted other DIY skills books).
