    I had an rs125 for 2 years, did about 10000 miles on it and never had a problem, you can only go by what you have experienced so I have nothing bad to say about them, excellent bike I wouldent cry if I had to go back to one

    My rs 125 2007 model has gone about 8000 km, No porblem with this bike what so ever! stunning, fast and reliable!

    i bought an rs aprilia when i passed my test a few years ago. what a bike, for a 125, the handling is fantastic, very light and flickable, and the engine really goes well when kept in the power band, the only downsides are the extreme riding position for a newbie and the lack of reliability. you have to really want an rs to buy over the 4 strokes, but you wont be dissapointed

  • @zack1667
    @zack1667 14 лет назад +3

    Honda gets my vote, brilliant little 125, incredibly light, pretty nippy, so cheap on fuel, 100% reliable unlike the Rs125 which i have heard has its ups and downs, one thing i don't like is the cbr tyres if they where a little thicker the bike would be truly amazing hands down.

    Hah, true. The size of the tyres is a almost a bit frightening, but as a proud owner of a CBR 125R, I've gotta say that there's nothing wrong performance-wise with the tyres. The front-wheel does like ridiculous, but oh well. It's a perfect bike for starters, I'm 16 now, I'll drive 2 years with it, then I'm moving on to a Kawa Z750 :D

    yea that true man i loved the bike just i used it more for getting to college threw traffic and it was horrible for that. just in the case the YZF-R125 was better for me as something for the weekends and something to get to college on at the same time

  • @FlyingSquirtle
    @FlyingSquirtle 15 лет назад

    Finland is always expensive as hell, and the basic insurance (the one required for you to drive yours in traffic) for a CBR 125R is normally 650-850. For a RS 125 it's 700-1000. It's insane. I'm glad I got an awesome deal for my CBR 125R, 420 for one year :)

  • @zack1667

    Wen is MCN gonne do a video of the new honda 125R 2011?

  • @Saabsandcycles
    @Saabsandcycles 14 лет назад

    I looked at getting a brand new YBR125 which was the same price as my CBR and I'm glad I got the CBR. There's nothing wrong with the Yammy as it is just a commuter bike. Its just that outside of commuting, the Honda is much more fun. I wouldn't say its an out an out sports bike, likewise as a commuter. It does make a brilliant alrounder in my eyes. And yes I will get another stroker, when the work improves will look at getting an old skool 250 version of the RG.

  • @Saabsandcycles
    @Saabsandcycles 14 лет назад

    Better still, have one of each. I've owned a 5yr old CBR125 repsol since last june. Put 10k trouble free miles on it, other than service items its been brilliant. Good ride too, the review is right tho, they do struggle uphill. But then I weigh over 14st so can't expect too much. The two stroke I own is a 25 yr old RG125 and it really is great fun to ride. However I've just had to put it on ebay as my work has dropped off. Not happy!

  • @jimmieteemm
    @jimmieteemm 15 лет назад

    yeah I agree. I used to ride an SR50 DiTech and could just about keep up with a CBR125 which is rather apalling
    I was coming home on my RS125 today and some guy in a Vectra turbo overtook me and i dropped down a couple gears and managed to get past him
    Its at times like these which I feel really glad I got the 2 stroke
    and for people calling it a hedge strimmer. You can say that all you like but you'll be the one choking on its fumes =D

  • @FlyingSquirtle

    True. I'm from Finland, and here, when you turn 16 you can get your license for a 125cc. So over here, the 125's aren't bikes for learners, they're the next step after your moped, and then at the age of 18 you get your 600cc :D. I've got the Honda, awesome bike. (Getting a Devil Full Exhaust System for summer, it's gonna sound amazing :D )

    • @JDMz

      If someone is 16 and never ridden a moped (hair dryer) and decide to ride a 125. That's classed as a learner bike. Lol

  • @Conzo53
    @Conzo53 13 лет назад

    @Olinolan190 the cg is a great bike to do the cbt. its light and easy to ride i done mine on a cg125 tho i only got a lend of it off friend. now im on my rs 125. the bike is not hard to fuel if you drive it easy tho it can be expensive if you ride hard (70 - 100) mph or so.. however if you get a run on a crisp rs 125 with good tires on a twisty road u'll fall in love with it !

    Hi, yes there is a Aprilia RS250 but they stopped making it from 2006. Anyway, I'll give you the prices brand new here in Australia for all 4 bikes. (2006 RS250 $12850AUD), (2008 Kawasaki Ninja205R $6490AUD), (2008 Honda CBR125R $4290AUD), (2008 Aprilia RS125 $9290AUD). All prices are for brand new recommend retail price in Australia in Australian dollars, I'm not too sure about where you live UK, just do som research, but anyway, as you can see RS250 cost more than double than the CBR125R here.

    tbh i would prefer a 2stroke (even if they do sometimes sound like hairdryers :Plol) so i guess that leaves me with either a yamaha dt or the aprilla rs (i think its the rs) but i prefer the styling of a supermoto nowadays, plus you know what the weathers like in the uk atm, so i could always play around with the wheels i put on on a dt

  • @Mesakaro
    @Mesakaro 16 лет назад

    Ive got the yammy r125, most comfortable out of the 3, 2nd fastest, the rs is a dam great 125 but because its 2T engine lets it down, you go flat out 125mph on it everytime you would be lucky to get it going the next morning, rebuilds every 8k kph or so, 2T oil is very dear compared to 4T, 4T is far more reliable and can run all day without overheating and you wont have a problem starting it the next day. RS125 great for racing now and again but crap for everyday use.

    i never said the RS125 was bad...i just dont like the High pitched "Lawnmower" Sound. Thats why i prefer the Yamaha. I know that 2 Stroke are better at the Speed and such. But really...Speed doesn't matter on a 125cc. And the in my Country there are law restrictions so the RS125 would have too much power and i would have to make another License that i cant do right now ;)

    @aseskns mby you are able to get a 250cc bike in Greece :) But in UK 125cc is the limit without a proper motorcycle driving license. And btw you can get a 125 two stroke in mint condition for about 1000-1500 eur, just have to look better =)) Had a cagiva raptor 125 before changing to 600cc, still miss it.

      @JDMz 2 года назад

      Most 2 strokes run oil pumps. That's only motocross 2 stroke bikes that you could pre mix. You can still pre mix the rs etc but you had to do away with the oil pump. Still do pre mix on my cagiva. That had an oil pump but didn't last.

    The RS 125 is definitely a better bike than the rest of the competition. Just simply derestrict it, and the power jumps up to about 31 rwhp. That is about double more than the 4-strokes! Putting on a full racing exhaust system like Arrow doesn't hurt either!
    Sadly that the bikes potential never shows up on tests due to the need of "illegal modifying", at best they mention it briefly.

  • @Mesakaro
    @Mesakaro 16 лет назад +1

    Ive had my Yamaha r125 at 82Mph which isnt bad for a 4T 125, the exhaust on the r125 restricts the bike to 15BHP removing it with the new micron delta for the bike for EG will free up another 8bhp (Yamaha Techs said at a yamaha show) so overall it would be 23Bhp which is very good for a 125 4T altho the RS can go up to 33Bhp but thats a 2T.

    @Olinolan190 rs 125's come restricted meaning they are learner legal and 2 strokes are reliable it just depends on what way you ride it. i have had my rs for a year now and its never gave me any trouble i run good 2 stroke, warm it up well and rev the complete pish out of it ! the only thing ive had to do is change the plug and gearbox oil. id defiantly recommend 1 because once you pass your test and are looking for a bit of fun all you have to do is restricted it where as the the 4stroke well..

USD forks, radial floating disc with 4 piston caliper, Braided lines as standard!! its just a proper race replica for the road

    the 125 aprilia rs is reliable when its putting out less than 15 bhp... any more than that and you have to rebuild every 5000kph and replace the piston and barrels every 250 miles... my mate had 1, it cleared out his 5 grand in his bank, and in the end, he was lucky to get 80mph out of it... just get a cbr 125 or yzf... i havnt been on a yzf, but the cbr 2009 is very nice

    nah, that's ducati. besides, the RS125 has a rotax motor in it, and the RS250 has a suzuki motor. know a few people with RS125s, they have no major problems other than the regular (to be expected) 2 stroke top end rebuilds as per service schedule.

    @COD88MONEYMAN I think its more of a case of comparing the current 125cc market. Yes of course the aprilia will win hands down in terms of performance. I own one myself and love it. However the 4 strokes are a little more forgiving and from my experience the cbr 125 has a little more low end grunt than the aprilia.
    Though for me 2-T wins everytime! Love the smell of 2T oil burning! haha
