But you also gotta know that most Philadelphians are underdogs no matter what they go after. Just my opinion as a person who was there. South Philly yuuuuuurp 💪🏾
I'm from Brooklyn I remember dudes having heated arguments in school saying Gil was better than Jay.

Stunted his own growth by being straight trash
According to what I heard he was just rap hustling. He wasn't trying to be a rapper like that anyway
He was fire before he went to New Orleans. He tried to put that twang on shit. He think it's swaggy but it didn't age well
Cuzzzz you outta pocket for this one, Gill still running up a bag..I wish I could tag him &wallo🤣😂😂 they definitely would like this jawn-prolly be cracking up♠️ #215 affiliated💯

This dude is a joke Fam, he talked about Fab and never mentioned SoulTape 1,2 or 3.
I love watching your videos and after watching this one I finally became a subscriber this is the forth video that popped up on my feed and it great… keep up the good work😁👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽🔥🔥🔥
Can you do Lil Romeo or Vanilla Ice
I rocked with Major Figgaz !
You hit it on the head with this one. Funny how life turns out but sometimes those L's lead you to your biggest W's. If you don't succeed try,try again!!!!
Son was mad nice, prolly ahead of his time, and he wrote for wayne 🤷🏾♂️ respect do✔
Gillie b goin off on the court too at age 47. Dawg been killin in BIG3 celebrity games the last 2 years
Btw if u do gill u got AT LEAST 2 more figgaz members to do in: Dutch man and spado!!!!... my man!?......SPADEOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!,, super slept on and underrated in spade!!
Spade-O Was Dead Nice . Arguably The Leader Of Major Figgas 💯

It’s easy to see why they ain’t go no where lol

I ain’t gonna lie I never listed to gillie like that but when I come by some gillie shit that man was talking THAT SHIT!!!! 🔥 🔥🔥💨💨💨
This will answer your question, do Gillie have any hit album or records for that matter
So if you dont have that youre trash?
Ok
@@OmarScruggs when you make bold claims that you wrote for Wayne with no proof or evidence of it you are.
@@sherrythompson9338 so if wayne aint say he wrote for him it didn't happen? What do you gain by saying another man wrote for you. If you followed you saw a change in Wayne flow using philly slang etc and it eventually surfaced that he ghost wrote...years later.
@@1625GEE point me to the evidence he ghost wrote beside him saying it then later saying he didn’t
@@Zee006_ yeah these idiots will say anything just to keep stupid mess going although they dont have a shred of evidence that it took place what so ever.
Major Figgas were signed to Ruff House , they all had solo deals gillie had a solo deal with Suave House, Ab liva was at aftermath, Dutch and spade unetertainment, then gillie signed to cash money
Ruff nation / Warner** dutch & spade went from untertainment to interscope in 99-2000.
Major figgaz was signed to ruff nation. They had a decent hit "Yeah that's us." Gillie signed to Suave House solo. Check him out on Eightball and MJG album in our lifetime. The track is titled ARMED ROBBERY. He has the 2nd verse.
I forgot, please do Red Cafè, State Properly, Major Figgas
As a rapper he is nobody I'm putting on my favorite list. It's the charisma, that's all.
Gillie was nice...I think the biggest issue with Gillie was he didn't know who he wanted to be as a artist. He was like a Tweener.... not really a street artist.. not really a flashy artist... not conscious... not a ladies man... not really super lyrical even though he did have top tier cadence.. but most importantly no mixtape presence... at that point if you wasn't on the mixtape circuit you was done
Love the content Playboy. Can you do one on Smoothe Da Hustler
Major Figgas didn't sign to suave house. They released an independent album that spread thru philly like wild fire. So RuffNation paid them to re release that same independent album with a few new songs and it didn't do well cuz we all already had it. Gillie signed a solo deal with suave house after that. Dutch and spade went with untertainment and ab liva was out west fucking wit Dre. You got the story wrong bro.
Gilli has a lot of freestyles out but albums no Gille COULD have been, SHOULD have been, WOULD have been but never made really made it. But I praise him for finding ways to stay relevant and starting his pod cast.

Hold up... I know you ain't tryna say JR wrote for Cam?
@@smokeyfizzle that’s a known fact , where you been , I’m not saying he wrote for Cam I’m saying he wrote for himself and Cam liked it and swiped it for the better of the community

😅 No lies told.
He was waaaay more than an ok rapper. He's what REAL HIP HOP heads call a lyricists. Foh 🤨
FYI those lil wayne bars in the beginning are about a rapper named willie the kid not gillie the kid lmao wayne dissed on a track called problem solver
I was just thinking by in day it seems that the talent was the entertainment now it seems the entertainment is the talent
gillie technically helped make wayne what he is today if you think about it. he helped wayne evolve imo.
This was good
It was rumored that he wrote the entire First Carter album for Wayne. I remember that.
He didn’t write the whole thing but I can see a few songs Wayne wrote go dj and a few more big songs on that album
Homie nice the title tripping don't nothing corny come out of Philly
Closed caption said "Nasir Fart" 🤣
I wonder what Gillie would think about this title?!?!🤔😆💯 #STUNTEDGROWTH
They outta pocket for this jawn bro…. 💯🤣😂
Wayne stole that man whole flow if nothing else and that shit is obvious
Facts
You gotta do NYCKZ. He got hot over a line in a rando rap battle spot. You know, the "you justmad cuz I'm stylin on ya" dude.
Do Willie The Kidd next or when you have time he was a dope lyricist back in 07 with DJ Drama and the Affiliates movement he haven't really done nothing since but pushin out mix 💿
Maze& Muziline from nore
I'm from Philly, in fact "Gillie" & I from the same "North Philly" hood....is he a garbage rapper ? EFF No ! He's the "King Of Philly" when it comes to this rap s@#&. The problem with "Gilly" is he seems to do a bunch of freestyles on mixtapes but never drop a full length solo albums. So in a nutshell he's what we call a "Mixtape Rapper".
Yo, shout out to Major Figgaz" "AB Liva" "Dutch & Spade O" & the girl "Bianca"......
🔥🧊🔥🧊🔥🧊🔥🔥
2:04 That’s a Lie ….as far as i know he always claimed he did Carter 1 but says he played no hand in Carter 2…..but continue …..
You can tell Lil Wayne took his flow & from Carter II on (and Gillie was his ghostwriter). It's obvious (especially to somebody like me who's originally from New Orleans & knew jow Wayne originally sounded - wack).
6:15 *but jay did offer them a deal* .. the figgas used to hang out at jay and dame crib.. EVERY LABEL IN THE COUNTY TRIED TO SIGN THEM the state property situation divided them 6:23 puff already offered a deal but he was already signed to suave house
Nothing but love 💞
@ 21sec mark, you can tell he wrote for Wayne when Wayne was transitioning from his New Orleans flow to his New Orleans/York style. I know Gillie said he wrote for him.... About to finish watching the video...
OMFG I dont care how many bars he had. He NEVER made any cohesive songs. He was a below average rapper who couldnt make any decent songs, period. Who tf wants to support a rap artist who makes weak songs????? BTFW, he wrote on that bs Carter album. NOT Carter II. Wayne had another ghostwriter for that Carter II s7^%. Because the skills on both of those albums are like night and f&&%% day
U trippin. There is a reason every label in the country wanted to sign him. His songs are actually fire which is why he did so much ghost writing.. and several other members of his group are also ghost writing btw. See ur one of those ppl who doesn't do thier homework and u just think if something isn't popular then its not good but u don't realize those songs from wayne and dre and jay and kanye and TI that u love were actually written by someone else like a gillie or an ab liva.
He was wasnt talking bout gillie bruh! He was talking bout willie the kid that was signed to Dj drama affiliates… willy made a whole mixtape bout Wayne and baby
Gillie Da Kid the Cuttino Mobley of Rap.

His son's might blow and keep the family legacy going. Smart and patient man did not sign his hard work away for somebody else to profit on. Look at him now STILL getting the bag with his BLOOD COUSIN that he stayed loyal to and now they can eat together

@wnb thanks bro, me personally I don’t mind rappers having writers but they should be credited. As for Wayne during Tha Carter he was what 21? He was a lil young so I can understand if he needed some assistance. Not necessarily excusing him as they were younger MC’s making lyrical masterpieces but not every rappers knows how to song write ✍🏾
