- Let him tell it, he started the wave. So what diabolically wavy story would I have to spin for you to understand what Max B meant and means to Hip Hop culture. One of a witty, charismatic personality, with ahead of his time approach to music, that just didn’t make it out soon enough. He had the talent, work ethic, and enough examples to finally take things serious and focus on the music, but you can’t escape your past and the people it was spent with. Also the story of how the lines between business and whatever else can cross and expose entire relationships. He made his mixtape debut in 2006 and later signed to Jim Jones’s spin off to Dip Set, Byrdgang. He’s had his hand in producing one of the biggest songs of the early 2000s hip hop with his contributions on Jones’s hit single “We Fly High” R.I.P Stack Bundles, who’s officially credited as the writer for the record. In 2009 Max B was sentenced to 75 years in prison for conspiracy in an arm robbery case turned Homicide. Although he was not present, he was handed a mastermind role, which was confirmed by ex girlfriend, who testified against him in court in exchange for a reduced plea. After his incarceration, his stardom grew to a cult like level, with fans new and old riding his biggest wave to date. Free Max B campaigns everywhere and the word wavy added to the hip hop adjective Hall Of Fame along with classics, like Dope, Banger, and Boughie. I got that Come up dvd where he said he might get trial and blow. The host kept trying to get him to confirm that he had static with Jim Jones. This was a little after Stacks died. He kept it civil on that tape, but that record he dropped on it was fire and confirmed me as a fan of his solo career after that. I chalk up the melodic sound of today’s generation to Max B.

I feel like the timeline is off. He was released in 2005 just in time to be all over the Jim Jones album, "Harlem: Diary of a Summer" released in August 2005. Cam'ron was still on his run. He was also on the Cam'ron "Killa Season" album released in May 2006.
