Yep, Russians can definitely see "stealth". Since early 90s - look up Tamara radar made in Czech republic that's older system. I have served in a group equipped with these and the way it works is ingenious and very effective.

Realistically, the F-35 wouldn't need to use its radar in this situation. It could get donor data from the E-2 or Aegis system and let that guide an AMRAAM or AIM-260 (soon) to the target. The F-35 wouldn't even need to crank and maintain a lock. It could simply turn away and let the missile do its job.
But realistically an E2 or E3 wouldn't have a chance in Russian airspace due to long range SAMs, hypersonic missiles and just overall being a priority target that can actually be reached. But these are "what if" scenarios, just like this videos - not fact.

Though this would alert the Sukhois to their radar emissions.....Even stealthier if they use their EOTS in pairs to gain a lock, Su-35 would only know what's happening at the fox-3 pitbull

In some aspects the F-22 has favourable geometry, but the F-35 is also smaller, had far better computational modelling, and better avionics contributing to its stealth. Top speed is irrelevant but F-35 has fantastic acceleration from subsonic to supersonic.
its a shame the F-35 is missing some of its kit in DCS rn, would be cool to have a fully functional DAS/IRST and towed EW pod, especially in the radar missile meta here

IRST is likely comparable to those seen on Eurofighter and Rafale, with the DAS sensors having a respectable percentage of the main IRST's range. Resolution on both systems is likely to be rather good too. The towed system should have a noticeable improvement in jamming capacity to internal jammers found in allot of current aircraft. So it should be pretty hard to get burn-through even when you pick the plane up.
id say two most crucial systems for F-35 that are missing are its EW capability that is supposed to be superior to the Growler and two way datalink with its weapons which all should be capable of mid course target correction through sayd datalink (IR seekers looping around after miss and radar seekers able to retarget after breaking the lock back on target by the mothership AND capability to hand over guidance to the other asset or use other asset radar for weapons guidance

Man, that cockpit does look sweet, and as i always say, I love the look of the SU-27 to 57 but the 35 looks awesome but the huge tail sticking out it's ass like the 57 does look a little weird. Ashame the F-35 doesn't have a proper functioning cockpit yet with every capability the F-35 has because I seriously think it would smash a lot of things in BVR, America does need to fit a longer range missile inside it though. Ok, you can tell I was typing as watching, and I guess it showed the capabilities of the F-35. That was such a cool video man I totally enjoyed every bit of that. Sick stuff, and again as always I love the channel dude.

I haven't got to the fight yet in the video, but if the F35s dont force them defensive long before they can get launched on, I call "doubt". That's supposed to be the one thing the F35 has over enemy counterparts that arent even a little stealthy like the Flanker. They should be able tos ee and launch long before they get seen and launched on. I'd wager Fat Amy is stealthier than a Felon by a bit too
I wonder what the F35 was doing after shooting a missile at you, he was looking at the contrails of an incoming missile, yet no chaff & flare. Also I wonder how well the F35's high tech countermeasures (like the towed decoy and who knows what else it has) would work.

There are a lot of comments from F35 pilots which can give us some insight in how good of an dogfighter the F35 is, A lot of pilots call her fat amy but some call her the second most manueverable jet in the US arsinal. A lot of test pilots also said that the aircraft doesnt maintain a lot of energy when doing these manuevers. The F35 was desinged for Fox 2 fights, which end in seconds, so it makes sense that it is super manueverable and it doesnt need to keep a lot of energy if the fight is supposed to be over in seconds

Interesting that the first AMRAAM just "went away" when he had a weapons grade lock on you and the only move you made was to slowly reduce altitude. Must have been a Friday afternoon built 120...
It was the difference between a high altitude and low altitude. Going from 30,000 feet to below 10,000 feet caused the missile to bleed all of its energy going through lowe altitude dense air.
@@angrydragon4574 except thats not what happened, he broke the lock ... of F-35 ... just by reducing altitude ... secondly you are just parrotting what you heard without thinking - by the time GS initiated the maneuver the missile was in pitbull range while traveling in thin air at 10k+ altitude ... if he didnt break the lock there is no way he would have been able to defeat the missile at that point because while he is diving so is the missile
I like seeing the other side of the F-22/F-35 fights. You have to get creative to have a fighting chance since the stealth really negates the superior ranges of the Russian missiles.
If I had a nickle for every time an A-50 made it back to base with barely any engines in these BVR videos, I'd have 2 nickels, which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice.

One is the totally glass cockpit. The F35 has numerous cameras all over the aircraft. One can actually look 360 degrees like your not even in a aircraft !
3:00 have you read Skunkworks? They talk about how radar operators didn't see the F117 in testing until it buzzed their position. You can see stealth with lower freqs but you can't engage with it.
The cockpit looks much different in the flanker. The screen areas for radar, etc seem bigger. I found myself wishing you'd go into detail about the differences between modern cockpits.
Great vid as always, GS ! Also, these Russian AWACS are way too survivable flying home with one or two engines left. It is still a mission kill though I doubt they'll be repairing that radar anytime soon, with all the shrapnel from the AMRAAM.

F35 range to lock should be much smaller than SU35 so F35's should always be able to launch missiles much earlier.

Great vid as always, GS ! Also, these Russian AWACS are way too survivable flying home with one or two engines left. It is still a mission kill though I doubt they'll be repairing that radar anytime soon, with all the shrapnel from the AMRAAM.
