Nice! We did see a lot of fancy moves and the canopy came close to revenge you at the 2nd round. My guess is that these 4½-5th gen fighters wont meet in close combat. Bvr perhaps but lets hope not.

I went up against a few F-22’s in the Typhoon and there is nothing that ever made me sweat more. It’s not only that it’s just so insanely slippery that makes it so tough to dogfight, but it’s also so very quickly forgiving. The Typhoon always holds up incredibly well, and you can beat just about anything with it on skill alone, but against the Raptor you need the guy you’re up against to make a massive mistake in the best case scenario, or more realistically you need them to make several consecutive mistakes since most Raptor mistakes seem almost instantly forgiven and you’re back to square one before that mistake even becomes an opportunity. Realistically speaking though, I don’t think anything would find itself merged with a Raptor in combat ever. Surviving long enough to get that close means you’ve also survived long enough to know better and you’re already on the way home instead.
I guess, it wouldnt be very informative, because the plane model could only be created by assuming the most data, due the much greater lack of military information compared to western planes, or even russian models.
A guns only dogfight is the best chance the Eurofighter has against the F22 though against the Felon maybe better chances. Wait no best two out of three for the F22 or even a second round for the Felon and F35 why not hmm 🤔?
All these fights are kinda pointless in my opinion until GS gets an opponent with the same level of skill. GS could kill these guys in a Cessna 182, not fair lol
theres a lot more to fighter combat than stealth. missiles, speed, datalink, eowats and irst, sensor fusion, electromagnetic signatures, ew, etc all partake in combat beyond stealth. there are reasons why dassault, saab, and to an extent sukhoi didnt dedicate their most modern fighters to being stealth 5th gen. personally i feel like 5th gen is a bit overhyped after it was used so much to advertise the F-35. then there is dogfighting of course, which i think can still happen. in sogfights things like tvc are only useful for ir short range missile dogfights, pure aerodynamic capability and pilot skill are most important, helping relatively level out the playing field.
Also remember that while DCS is close to the real thing, it isn't the real thing. Most of the F-35's flight characteristics parameters are still classified and so can't be modeled properly. Same goes for the F-22, Su-57, et cetera.
It's not it's purpose though. It's like saying the A10 or C130 isn't a dog fighter. Duh. But it can sit as a forward observer giving vital battlefield information or targeting information for other aircraft or weapon systems outside the range of enemy systems.
