The Chesapeake Bay Bridge (also known locally as the Bay Bridge) is a major dual-span bridge in the U.S. state of Maryland. Spanning the Chesapeake Bay, it connects the state's rural Eastern Shore region with the urban Western Shore, between Stevensville and the capital city of Annapolis. Personally, I'm not scared of the Bay Bridge.
I've driven this bridge many many times in a tractor trailer for 30 years. Great scenery.
Ive been across this a couple of times. whats scary is that other drivers get apprehensive about the lane width. its a bit tight so you need to pay attention and not site see.
I have been across that bridge many times pulling a horse trailer. One time with at least 50 mph winds and what looked like at leasrt 10 ft waves down below. scary!!!
I've been driving over this bridge since the first span opened. It is GREAT! I LOVE IT! What a great view, especially when ships are passing underneath. [It is also awesome from the water.] And no, I do not miss the ferry. Yes. I am OLD.
I agree it was pretty scary just crossed it a few days ago in an 18 wheeler.
That is one big freaking bridge
Or maybe two
It might be dangerous these days, with horrible drivers everywhere.
Nothing scary about it ! As a child we had to take a ferry to get across the Bay. That wasn't scary either!
Ditto
You ought to see the one in Port Arthur Texas.....it's high enough for ocean liners to pass underneath but it's not very long so you up on a fairly steep incline and go down a steep decline
Been driving over this bridge for about fifty years, what's the problem?
People speeding and bad driving makes it scary. Slow down
Try sitting in you car on the top span with a traffic jam, I did for about an hour, NEVER went to the Eastern Shore again!
If driving this bridge in daytime scares you, perhaps you should turn in your license.
It's just a bridge. What the hell is wrong with people? Ten ka-billion-jillion people have safely crossed it since the first span went up.
I think it's got more to do with being afraid of heights not the actual bridge it's self
Gephyrophobia is a real fear. Some people can’t handle the height or the fact that you’re over water for so long
