What a beautiful drive. The sun, the palms, the emerald water. Florida is amazing
Florida is trash
Goodness I'm so freaked out going over bridges. That's a long one!
should’ve seen how much scarier the old bridge was
R.I.P. to those who have lost their lives on all the bridges.
Gone but not forgotten 🌹🌹🌹
What about those who jump from the bridges in New York ?
@@catrashoo All the bridges.
So many lost there lives on old bridge
At least jumpers did it by choice. Not so for the victims of the original Skyway.
(And so many others)
Very glad to see that those barriers are being built!
Same here. They've saved a lot of people so far.
Remembering the 35 people who died in the 1980 Summit Venture collision with the old Skyway Bridge.
I'm from Mass and just did this ride a week ago. Saw a ton of construction cranes and also pelicans too. You may have captured a timepiece here!
Ahh the Skyway Bridge. I wasn't aware that one even existed when I was making my way to St. Pete. I remember vividly approaching the bridge and telling myself "Let's do this!"
Epic drive.
The cables lights up at night. Looks amazing 😻
Sunshine Skyway Bridge is beautiful! Fishing pier is great! Thank you for sharing!
I remember those days as a kid and adult traveling to the keys. 10 years ago I lived with my friend in Bradenton for the winter it is the first ext off the bridge. I loved the new bridge and the way they made fishing peir out of the old part of the bridge.
This gotta be the most calming road I've ever seen in my life
I love camping there , right by the water.
This is a beautiful drive! Thanks for sharing!
You prolly dont give a shit but if you guys are bored like me atm you can watch pretty much all the new movies and series on instaflixxer. Have been watching with my brother for the last couple of days :)
@Marley Colin Yea, I've been watching on InstaFlixxer for since december myself =)
My gephyrophobia is through the roof right now! 😱
This bridge is quite intimidating, especially if you have a fear of crossing bridges. The worst part is when you're surrounded by careless drivers, people tailgating, etc.
My anxiety just watching this video 📈📈📈
Well, thanks to both you and Google, I've learned a new word
@@ithemeparkOFFICIAL forget those, the old bridge was even scarier
I had to drive on this bridge when I was 18 at night in the pouring rain. I was praying to God and freaking out. I have a huge fear of high bridges and then later read about the collapse of the older bridge. What happened was what I feared as a child because I was afraid a bridge would collapse and I would go in the water and had nightmares with this scenario.
As I'm watching this I'm trying to imagine it's 7am the morning of May 9, 1980, just prior to the bridge collapse, driving in a severe storm. I hope they shut that bridge down in case of severe storms.
They do, usually with hurricanes
Just beautiful. I need to take another trip down there.
That bridge is so high it would probably scare the hell out of me!
That's such a great drive over the Skyway. Having moved out of Tampa ,I dont get down that way anymore so it's nice to see it again. 💙 Thank you.😎
Very nice, Josh. Love those types of bridges. Very exciting to drive over.
i love this super high bridge
Excellent piece of driving josh

Driven it couple times… breathe taking
I've never understood the fear of driving on this bridge. It's not a scary bridge like some I've been on.
I know this is a year later, but what are some of the other scarier ones that you've been on? I've never been on this bridge, but from just watching this video - it's not for me 😂😂
I can never see the color of the sky like that in Korea.
See some the old bridge still there after that boat accident
Yes, it's on both sides of the bridge and is the world's largest/longest fishing pier.
How on earth was this built?
Hopefully they haven’t resurfaced the original whistle sounding bride deck.
I am terrified of this bridge and in 97, back when I was stripping, I had to drive over it by myself, to and from work, 4 nights a week, I would get off work at 3am, it's scarier when noone else is on it, the money was good tho and there was no other way to get to that club!

When the 18 wheeler has to pass you. God, the passengers must be annoyed af
Is this Howard Frankland Bridge?
No The Sunshine Skyway Bridge
Why are all of these bridge crossing videos always made by people driving slower in the right lane? You had 18 wheelers in the left lane passing you. I also hate bridges and always try to drive as far inside as I can, especially on a single span. At least this one has a really wide shoulder over the whole length.
I was following the speed limit.

No way would I cross this bridge. Especially at night
Truthfully. Sewage can flow uphill
I am still waiting for the scary part 😐

I'll always admire the construction of a bridge of this scale, but my god it looks horrible to drive on. Not in terms of sketchiness or anything, but it's just so boring, like most of Floridas roads. If I had to do this on a daily commute I think I would last about a week before I start contemplating jumping off the edge.
Where are you from? Going up this high would be fun for Floridians
@@bucsfan2565 I wasn't referring to the height, I meant it was just a long, straight multilane road that's pretty boring to drive on.
Should they add a theme park? One legged midgets on the shoulder juggling basketballs? Lol
This scares me
