Thanks for the video. I'm also a big advocate of security-layering and use multiple anti-theft measures and devices, including most of the ones you feature in the video. I use a Ravelco switch in place of a kill-switch, but the principle is the same. I too secure the steering wheel with an old-timey Club but if I may offer a suggestion: Upgrade your club to a newer version. The old clubs with traditional sawtooth keys are easy to pick, but the newer ones use laser-cut keys that makes the lock mechanism a real Rubik's Cube. An Autolock brake pedal lock prevents the brake or clutch pedal from being depressed, making the car unstartable. Don't forget to protect your wheels with a set of locking lugnuts. I use a full set of 20, but even one locking lug per wheel may discourage an unprepared thief. Above all else use common sense and awareness. Don't park anywhere where you don't feel comfortable leaving your car unattended. Don't get tempted to park in the far corners of parking lots to avoid door dingers because thieves also love that isolation, away from prying eyes. And make sure your insurance is current!
A tow truck is all that’s gonna get mine. For those with these cars don’t use regular insurance. You can use Chubb insurance, you name the value. Use a remote relay instead of a manual switch for the kill. It can be placed where it cannot be accessed without a lift or behind any panel.
I uses a remote kill hooked to the battery. Easy easy install and they can't get in the trunk unless through back seat which 9 times out of 10 is a deterrent if they even think to look there. Remote operated and car is deader than a door nail.
Hello! I just came across your channel and love it. I just moved down to the dfw area with my 19’ scat widebody. I had my challenger parked at the dfw airport parking garage and some amateurs attempted to steal it. They broke the lock on drivers side, opened the hood, took out the alarm/horn fuse, went underneath steering column, as well as passenger side underneath the glove box. I was very lucky as I had only 40miles in the tank, and had it in valet mode (upon further research has proven to also be effective in theft prevention in these vehicles). Maybe they got spooked or noticed the odds against them (gas/valet mode). But, happy to still have my baby, when you spend so many hours cleaning/taking care of your car, it breaks your heart to see it tampered with… it is violating. I am looking into theft prevention and other strategies, I appreciate your video and will look into those suggestions!
Man that is terrible. Unfortunately there really isn’t any one true way to prevent it. All we can do is provide layers of security in the hopes they give up and move on like they did with yours. Alot of people say the IGLA (very expensive) is the way to go but I just read on one of the Facebook groups a guy got his stolen and he had it so there is no foolproof way. The valet mode is definitely a valuable extra layer too! There were at least two cars stolen after that WAM show I went to in Ft Worth and they were just driving them around Grand Prairie. Glad you got to keep yours but definitely never get lax in DFW area. Scat Pack and Hellcat thefts are really bad there. Thanks for checking out the channel!
Good video, lots of good information here. For the killswitch, it's a little pricey but I found a kit with two switches and uses a factory harness so it's really plug and play. Great for added security
@@raysmith4305 it wasn't too bad. No splicing wires or anything. Hardest part was removing the dash bezel and routing the wire for the second killswitch.
I don't even have a v8, my Challenger is a V6 and it is much older, a 2014 (anniversary edition) and I have had it for not even a week.... it has already been messed with. Do people really go after a v6? I do not have a garage to park it in unfortunately but I do have a lockbar on the steering wheel, will get the Faraday bag etc. I'm just in shock that my car has already been messed with😭💔
I am confused. I understand how the faraday bag blocks the signal from your fob to prevent it from being replicated. But, doesn't that also prevent you, the owner, from using the key fob to lock your car after you park? While you are parking, getting out of your car and locking the door you need the key signal to work. So, there is no protection at that moment and the signal can be stolen, correct? In which case ,the bag does absolutely no good. If this is not correct, someone please explain to me how this is supposed to work. I feel like I am missing something.
That is a great question. In the best case scenario, you would have the key fob out of the Faraday bag when you get in it at home to unlock the door. Then when you go somewhere, you have the key fob in the Faraday bag so it is in the Faraday bag while you are driving around, then, when you park it, it is still in the bag and the signal is still safe. When you get out of the car to park it, you simply lock the door with the push button on the handle and the key fob never comes out of the bag until you are back at the car ready to get in it to leave.
Thanks for the quick response. I still don’t know how you are able to lock the door if the fob is in the bag. doesn’t your car need to detect the signal to make sure the key is not inside the car so that you can lock it?
@@jmcates1120 if you have it in the Faraday bag while you’re driving around and then you stop and park it the car will not think it’s still in the car because it’s not picking up the signal because it’s in the bag. Therefore you are able to lock it from the outside with the button because there is no key fob signal anywhere

You didn’t want to get a hellcat? I just traded in my 2015 SRT 392 B5 Blue challenger for a 2018 Black hellcat challenger… and I love it, but I do miss the 392. You seem like you got the funds, what made you choose a scatpack over the HC?
I considered both of them equally but it came down to two things for me. Fun factor and widebody. I couldn’t afford a widebody Hellcat since they didn’t make them in the earlier years and I just love the look of the wide fenders. And I was watching all of Racer X’s videos with his Hellcat Charger and ScatPack Challenger and he just always seemed to be having a better time in the Scat Pack. He was always fighting the Hellcat for traction and unless Im already going 70 the Hellcat just isn’t as fun during the light to light pulls. The WB Scat hooks and goes. It just had a higher fun factor for me for how I drive and I’d told myself if I got a Hellcat it would just be so I could say I have a Hellcat…which is bad ass but I don’t regret my decision at all. I love the WB Scat….heck Im on my second one! Enjoy your HC though they are incredible cars for sure!
You didn’t mention a car alarm. Sirens inside snd outside the car. You could even install a fake kill switch that activates and locks on the car alarm. Another anti theft device is an IGLA PIN code device. It’s about $1,200, which is expensive, but it requires pressing a combination of buttons in the correct order to start the car. The IGLA PIN code device also blocks key fob programmers.
Are regular R/T's targeted significantly less than scats & hellcats? Or targeted at all? Do you ever hear of stories of all this theft problems where R/Ts (in particular w/ a manual transmission!) are concerned? If you think about the price of the engines in scats and hellcats vs the price of your run of the mill 5.7L, it's many thousands of dollars difference. I would imagine thiefs that are in this for top dollar vs risk, won't even look at an R/T.

Some people take fuses out when they have to leave it somewhere. Like the fuel relay or something else that’s required to make the car run.
They don't need the fob to reprogram your signal. Our keys were in a faraday box and they still reprogrammed the fob and broke into my Charger.
Wow😮!!
Got the manual plus a huge bar with a huge lock on pedal
6speed alone takes out 75% of the thieves ability to drive all by itself! Lol
@@moparlifescatpack i think so specially young stupid thugs just a window or two I hope not at work I’m good locked home it’s a house less chances but it’s Miami so
Is it easy to install the kill switch?
Its not too difficult but you will have to remove the dash bezel. Watch my video on how to do it and see if it looks like something you’re comfortable doing. ruclips.net/video/o5n8GfcFSbc/видео.htmlsi=ADmvoMYmcUVgVZeZ
😂😂😂😂😂 I’m fckin sleep at the intro lol
Was having a nightmare! 😂
Great video. Thank you
Thanks for watching!
heyyy. what’s the name of the bag you got from amazon?
Its called a Faraday bag
@@moparlifescatpack Maybe a dumb question but to stop the stealing of the signal, should you put the key in the bag before you exit the vehicle, or exit, lock car, then key in bag before you walk away. Thanks - great tips!
@@drummerchris4215 I’ll usually put the fob in the bag in the car then when I exit lock it with the button on the door handle.
Wish i had a garage
Now you will have to take it out of the bag to get back in once you’re coming back from your parking spot but presumably by that time the concern for theft is over because you are about to get in it and drive away
How much do you pay for inshurance
Mines just got stolen yesterday 😢
That is terrible! 😮
Where did you get the scat pack shirt?
It was a gift but Im pretty sure it came from Amazon.
Would the neutral cover void anything?
I couldn’t see how. It doesn’t change any factory part. 🤷🏻♂️
It’s to the point now I don’t even want my mopar anymore it’s an absolute hassle having to babysit my car everywhere I go!!!!
Luckily I enjoy staring at it through the window when I can. Haha. But yeah I agree. Just always hoping its where I left it. Lol
@@moparlifescatpack very true lol
😂
Doing your video with the garage door wide open and giving were you sorta live.....lol
Well I guess the 7th way would be have good insurance. Lol
All they have to do to disable GPS is rip the rear view out.
It’s definitely good to have a redundant system. I have a separate standalone GPS that I keep in the car.
Those are all great ideas!
I would assume they share the same security issues but the 6.4s and Hellcats are definitely at the top of the stolen list!
Give it a few more years.... Right now it's scats and cats
I just bought a white 2014 Charger 5.7 Pursuit with steel 18×7.5" wheels 115k miles on it🤔The poor mans HEMI. It's got SafePark that's designed for Law Enforcement to be able to leave the engine running but someone without the Key Fob won't be able to drive away. I guess the Crooks can work around that system if they can program a New Fob☠Hopefully Nobody wants to steal the Poor mans HEMI✌😁☮
@@BillyDog707official Congratulations on the Charger! Hopefully anyone wanting to steal it will think its a cop car and leave it alone. Plus people will move over for you on the highway. 😎
@@moparlifescatpack Ya She's a little rough around the edges too but looks good in the dark or from a distance. I always hated ppl Driving white cars looking like the Police. Now I'm one of them👍🏾😁☮
As much as I enjoy mopar…dodge should be slapped for how easy those cars are to steal.
I agree!
Still miss the Viper.
I do too but like I say in my soon to be released “cars I’ve owned” video if I’d have kept them I never would have gotten to enjoy the next one lol I can only afford one (sometimes two) weekend fun cars at a time and my bucket list just keeps getting longer 😂
Subbed great video
Thanks for watching!
One 10 dollar trick to stop any their from stealing your car without using a tow truck…… fuel cut off switch …. Can’t steal a car you can’t start….
Excellent idea!
Yeah but how you gonna lock still need to get the key out
Use the inside door lock then close the door.
@@moparlifescatpack but don’t you need to arm to alarm that will send a signal no makes sense to have the pouch you’re in a restaurant etc amd you’re car is sending signals
@@oscalsochirino8706 The fob is sending the signal. Your car is receiving the signal.
👍
Or make the clock tick a little longer so the owner can interdict.
Exactly! Wrong car thief!
Faraday bag isn’t even good because once you go to unlock your car the signal can be stolen right then and there.
Very true. However, the upside is that at that point you are in it driving away. Either way nothing is absolutely perfect unfortunately. Try try to make it harder. Nothing is impossible if the thieves want it bad enough.
@@moparlifescatpackcorrect me if i’m wrong, but doesn’t the signal change every time you lock/unlock the vehicle?

Pro Advice: If someone wants your car bad enough, they WILL get it.
Simple as 123...
-Push the car
-Tow the car
-Key hack
List goes on but I don't condone thievery.
Absolutely! Nothing is 100% unfortunately. But if I can make them have to work for it maybe they’ll move on to an easier target 🤞🏻
@@moparlifescatpack Your advice and tips were helpful, no worries. Just hoping to shed light that this is but a cat and mouse game.
@@EuroSpecJDM Exactly! I have good insurance so if it’s gone one day I’ll cry all the way to the dealership as Im buying another one. 😂
Is it just me, or did Dodge design these cars to be stolen? And why not a key instead of this stupid push-button start crap. I rented one several years ago, and the damm car does not even alert you that the engine is running when you get out. Love the car, but hate the total lack of security. Even my 1976 Ford truck is more secure than these things.
Yeah the security is an absolute joke. I miss keys. I never understood the significance of a push to start. Funny how easy it is to steal but if I have it in drive and open the door so I can move it a few inches in the garage it locks me in place 🤦🏻♂️
Jesus christ skip to 4:00 to hear the info

I have a red eye charger, I parked in the lot at Walmart, I needed to go buy some water so I did, came back to 1 guy trying to break in, I walked slowly behind him and told him in his ear that I'll send him to hell, bro tried to fight me just to get slammed on the ground, he started crying and begging, he also pissed himself 🤣, some people saw and came to his rescue but I told them he tried to steal my hellcat, they helped me out till cops came, they took him in and a stream of luck a Tesla parked next to me, and caught him on video trying to break in, he got arrested mugshots and everything, I found his mom's Facebook, and told her, she asked to meet me at the police station, and we confronted her son keshawn, and when I mean she yelled at him she yelled and I thought Hispanic mom's was bad, anyways it was hilarious I embarrassed him so bad, I made this story up tho
That was awesome…had me going. 😂 But now you have me wanting a red eye…😂
In not worth buying. A gt fast enough

@@moparlifescatpack sold my '13 R/T after 9 years. Loved to buy another, drove a favorite color '23 sinamon stick R/T . But insurance was too high and the gas mileage issue. So settle on a granite GT. 300hp is plenty. My insurance still went up.
