Mines got the torque steer going on now and this is one of the very few places I've heard anyone addressing it. About to tackle this same exact project. Thanks for the video and commentary.
Sometimes I watch a lot of videos to do things myself and this was a simple easy video that the guy did not take 20 minutes chewing bubble gum or doing something else to make it a longer video this was an awesome video
I'm about to do both sides on my wife's Exploder. I'm ordering the Mototcraft unit. Hoping it comes preassembled as in the photos and some of the previous comments. I've seen videos saying your issue with the removal could have been helped by putting an 11mm wrench on the top of the joint stud.
The Motorcraft direct replacement comes complete with all bushings and ball joint. I am planning on replacing both of my lca's on my 13 Ex LTD 4x4 as soon as the parts arrive.
Man, I had to cut the damn nut of off the ball joint. Top of the ball joint stud stripped out. The Motorcraft lca does not come with a new ball joint nut. Back to the Ford dealership in the morning. My Explorer is my wife's daily as well. Unfortunately was a pain in the ass. Did the passenger side stabilizer bar bushing, wasn't too bad. Once I get it driveable again, it's going to the shop to let the professionals handle it. SMDH
@@happycommentator6773one of mine was stripping out as well. Used vise grips on top until the nut was high enough then was able to get vise grips on the stud under the nut.
I changed mine a few weeks ago and the ball joint was turning like in the video. The top of the ball joint bolt is square and I put a wrench on it to hold it to get the nut to turn off the bolt.
@@TheDieseldog Okay. My wife's '16 Explorer FWD has 137,000 now, I am replacing her lower arms today with new Motorcraft originals. They are complete assemblies. Her SUV has been making a rattle/knock noise going over the slightest bumps/transitions in the roadways. I am also replacing the swaybar end links at this time too. One side is loose and I always replace in pairs. I figured it is VERY easy to get that bottom swaybar end link off during this process. I installed new Autozone struts two weekends ago. The left one started leaking about six months ago. Again, I replace in pairs- It restored a smooth, steady ride. Plus, we can't beat that lifetime warranty.
Did you notice the hex area on the ball joint?? You use an 11mm on the stud to keep it from spinning
I appreciate this video and how you explain how somethings can be harder at the house doing it. Great video bro! 😊

Diesel Dog, just a few suggestions - eye protection, hearing protection, and hand protection are a must.
Awesome video. I have always had that rear bushing on the control arm. Thank you for sharing.

I bought mine from Detroit Axel on Amazon. I got two front lower control arms for like $135 and they came with those new bushings already on them.
My go-to tool for removing and replacing parts is a battery operated saw...On a side note you resemble Sergio Garcia golf pro.
Would’ve been great if you explain tool sizes you were using

11mm holds it
Será el mismo para un Ford taurus 2010?
Great video by the way. Your video helped me understand the change out process. Thank you very much, Brian Merk
Good video, thanks for the info
Great vid. Thanks for sharing

You live up North?
Southern Illinois
Why not just change the bad bushing?
Control arm is non-serviceable......you have have to replace the entire control arm which comes with the bushings
More cost effective too, IMHO. The rear bushing is sold separately, but for $30 more a side- Get the whole lower arm. It will save you time too...
Aye aye aye
