If you are redoing the front door of the cabin anyway, why not a split door to make sure if enough snow piles up, you aren't trapped inside? Just open the top door and clear out any snow then you are able to open the door fully. This would also be super nice in the summer.

Honestly, I follow a lot of offroad/vanlife/camping channels and at first I remember thinking "who's this dude with his cheesey home-built camper" but Ive changed my mind. Very functional, well thought out, and a cool truck. Its a lot of weight but if the rig can handle it then sweet! You only have so many options for a 4x4 camper and in Socal, it's Sprinter Nation. They are terrible off-road potential. You're a chill dude and have proven to handle situations. I think next up would be a tour of the cabin!

Heated extention cord draws 7 watts per foot to run next to fuel lines, filter exc... that gets power when you plug in the block heater. Insulate the cord and lines like you would a water pipe. Direct the exhaust from the generator safely under the truck will heat the tank.

I really appreciate the honesty of your videos. A nomadic lifestyle comes at some personal costs. Not to say it isn't worth it as it can be very rewarding but I really get tired of these channels that portray it as a always blissful wonderful experience. Waking up with the back doors of a camper van open on a beach looking at the ocean while completely ignoring the "costs" of that lifestyle. I think you're doing it right, showing the wonders of the experience while not misrepresenting the unique challenges and hurdles to get that experience.

The truck house is def a cool build and a couple game changers...the woodstove - cheap heating and can cook on and the stove/oven ...no campstoves to haul out every meal or jet boils or whatever ppl use which means less fuel canisters to buy and store and you have an oven!! A lot less equipment needed overall and you are still able to have most of the creature comforts! It's a truck HOME not just a house.

Great job Tim. Too old now to do this but hey it looks like fun. Enjoying your videos, hope the YT gives you a bit of income to continue the fun. Oh just something to consider, the 7.3 has coolant issues in the past. Micro bubble eating into the cylinder liners. Proper coolant flushes and you're golden. Nal-cool I think they call it. Rock on and thanks for the entertainment. I work overseas and watching these from Kuwait, would enjoy some of the experiences you're having fun with. Cheers and keep the videos rolling. Good times. Timmy I have one suggestion for your campers door problem. If it was me, rather than shaving the door an inch to put a rubber threshold in. You might try taking a 1x1 and cutting a quarter inch high step into that, then shave the bottom of your door 3 quarters of an inch on the outside and full inch on the inside. That way you can put a rubber gasket in between to seal up any air gaps, as well as prevent water and ice from getting in. It would look like you had two double L shapes, to form a self sealing door kind of like how travel trailer doors are made.

One of the best Truck House Homes that I have ever seen. Your design and construction qualities are definitely top-notch. One of the things that I was very impressed with was your Kimberly Wood Stove. I like the fact that you are able to cook on top of it and having a vent out the back. As well as it taking up minimal amount of space and burn a very small amount of wood to keep your house warm. It is definitely my first choice of wood stoves for an RV. The price is well worth the comfort in my opinion. The Battle Born Batteries are also a great choice as well. I have a bank of ten of them in my RV for the past 5 years now and they are as strong as the day I first put then in. Your set up looks great. Thanks for sharing You Journeys with us and keep that Truck House Rollin!🙏🏻👍

Honestly Timmy don't trim the bottom of the door as it could create more problems and the tolerances you currently have are not bad at all. I would just find a 3/4-1" thick piece of rubber or buy cheap rubber stair treads from HD and cut 2x 3/4-1" wide strips, glue them together and have the length go past the door on each side and screw it down on the inside with the door closed. Basically a thin rubber lip/sill plate on the inside that water can't go past and when the door is closed the seal should be 95-99% water tight.

I just have to say that I enjoy all your adventures from camping in your truck house to rafting in your kayak. It's not just that but you show most of us that do not really have the time to go see these beautiful places. You keep it humble and you're attitude is just humble with that makes your content so easy and enjoyable to watch. Plus you love that old ford and to me us ford guys are a rare breed. You're the man Tim, And we also share the same name so there's def greatness.

What would be cool is a collab video with Matt's Offroad recovery or FabRats channels of them doing those Mods /Air lockers and Hydro assist steering etc. They are youtube creators down in southern Utah. Matt in Hurricane Utah builds some crazy offroad rigs....and Paul is in Glendale Utah and is super handy at fabricating and machining.

I've done my time in cold climates when I was stationed at F.E. Warren AFB in Cheyenne, WY. I do NOT miss the cold; but, I do enjoy watching this guy's content, especially when he's working on his house. That's a nice house!

In the anchorage area it is amazing. Not a fan of downtown anchorage but a little further north is awesome. The winters are really long but mild. We don't have a wind chill normally so if it's 17 it feels like 17.

Thanks so much Timmy for the tour of the truck house camper!! I have never been to Alaska but you have been kind enough to share your experiences with us. I always thought it would be so cool to be up there and see your truck on the road or just parked to get gas. To me it’s the most famous truck up there. Certainly look forward to the next trips and I have also really enjoyed your videos of your new addition at the cabin. You have worked so hard getting the outside done before winter really came. Take care and thank you for all. Here’s to 2024!!!!!

You should look into falcon steering stabilizer shocks. I use it in my jeep off Roading and it is adjustable for the terrain and conditions. Hundred percent reliable and durable. I have beat the hell out of mine.
