Jeff had a lovely speaking voice. I watch this to listen to his voice.
Mirtza Griffin like Streisand, Jeff's speaking voice is as lovely, and easy to listen to, as his singing voice... Love the soft "R's"...
watch to listen
me too
Also ... I love the chemistry between Mick and Jeff. Jeff's affection and admiration for his band members was so obvious. As in many interviews, Jeff is a chameleon, waxing philosophically with a serious tone one minute ... and giggling like a schoolboy the next.
He was extremely impulsive, from what I've observed, and didn't always surround himself with the most positive people. I think Jeff was genuinely happy, at times, but there was always a certain amount of sadness in his heart.
You kind of described me. I am this joker many times like Jeff is sometimes in interviews, but I also write sad songs for the most part and have sadness in my heart anyway. One of the many reasons why I connect so well with Jeff.
@@Consolous feel you 🖤
Thas exactly what i think of him
I think this is a poor assessment of Jeff who was highly intelligent, discerning and disliked negative people.
It's so cute how he keeps bringing up Mick they seemed to have a really sweet friendship.
Yes, they do. I think he was also doing that because the interviewer wasn't doing her job properly and didn't involve Michael in the conversation and he's so laid back, he didn't jump in.
Jeff was straight and had girlfriends.. But Jeff was always an intimate person and I've read somewhere that he had a way of making a person feel like he/she was the most important thing in the world when he talked to them.
Buckley had an amazing speaking voice, so calm, soothing, silky.
"Besides that he's very handsome." :)
90s: a place where people could smoke anywhere.
And not experience as much judgement
A place
light up
That was the last year of being able to smoke in Bars & Restaurants
Why would you want to bother others with your addiction though?
I am mesmerised by Mick Grondahl. The way he looks at Jeff at 1.20, Jeff talks about moving around, and his mum. Mick seems to be totally listening, and totally caring, he seems so strong as well. Like a strong, solid rock. I'm glad they had such a strong bond. If the after-life exists, I hope Jeff plays up there with his idols. And I hope Mick, still being alive, has lots of fun playing with great musicians! The gay comments surprised me, it didn't cross my mind at all, I don't care if they were. I focus on the emotions, and they had a high regard for each other, and it really touched me.
Eternal life does exist and it is available to all, but it is only through Jesus that one can be granted this free gift.
*John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.*
As for heaven: what the Bible teaches is that it will be brought down to the new earth. God will come dwell with the redeemed in Christ on the new earth, as opposed to the saved living a disembodied existence in an immaterial realm (which is the common perception people have).
Sissi i don’t understand the whole gay comments, Jeff was known to be VERY straight, sleeping with many women. The thing with Jeff is that he was all about emotional connection, and a lot of people now a days don’t really understand what that looks like
@@TheSnowysealstudiosdid he sleep with a LOT of women?
@@TheSnowysealstudiosi don’t know it might be possible that they were joking maybe???? (emphasis on sleeping with a lot of women lol)
Those two, still a better love story than Twilight.
He looks like SUCH a baby in this, but he was just shy of my age now... I am eternally grateful for how cool my mother was to take me to see him play live. It was such a blessing.
Wow, that's so amazing you got to see him live when you were a kid! What an awesome mom you have! It sounds like you're about my age, so I'm guessing your birth year is also '84 or around then? I remember hearing "Last Goodbye" on the radio when I was going into fifth grade, and just melting when I heard those dreamy chords and that powerfully soulful voice. That was the song I was always hoping they would play next. And of course after I finally bought my old "Grace" CD I fell completely in love with his music. I can only imagine what an intensely beautiful experience it would've been to watch and hear him perform his songs in person back then!
So lucky
Lol I love the lil shy smile on his face after he calls him handsome 😂😂
12:52 that freaking adorable giggle between the two of them 😂😂😂😂💜
amongst the lovely things about this interview is jeffs voice, so soft and calming it fucks me up
Every natural heart carries a certain amount of sadness.
The end was the best- when they looked at eachother and giggled. ::swoon::
+Sue DeSimone my favorite part too... so sweet and innocent. I have an autographed photo of Jeff
framed on my wall in be bedroom am I over the top? My hubby thinks soooooooooo, lol
+alicia mcmillan whoa! Not at all!! So lucky! Cool!
I miss Jeff.
I think about him everyday. 😢
I had just gotten into his music about 3 mos before he died.
When I heard about it, I thought someone was playing a practical joke.
But then it is like a joke from the Universe. To have this "Minstrel" come into our lives like an old Renaissance Town, shake our spirit, make us feel again, and then he leaves us only with the memory of his visit, which we repeat for the rest of our lives.
No artist has ever had that effect on me.So..I'm on a Jeff binge....again.
Smoking with a voice like he had is criminal.
God I love him. Everytime he speaks his mind, it's not just babble. He fills you up more than you can syphon, and that doesn't include listening to his songs, studio version or live. God I love him.
I just wish I was alive back then, to have gone to one of his shows. I just admire him so much, it's unreal.....How I wish He was still here
08:30 it's hilarious!!! Jeff just fools around with the mic guy because he seems so big and macho :-D
The guy seemed so uncomfortable 😂
they both seem like such lovely people
Yes he ruined our lives for the better because we will forever miss the beauty grace and simplicity of Jeff Buckley. I met very briefly back in the ‘60’s his exquisitely talented beautiful and vulnerable father Tim Buckley. The sadness and irony of losing these two souls so young is one of those cosmic mysteries like the big bang or dark matter, unfathomable and forever out of reach.
loved this!!! can see Mick's admiration for Jeff....and their closeness as a band....Jeff was so warm and silly....and playful. -he was so focused for the interview.....deep guy....so talented and was so highly critical of himself...perfectionist...
he seems to be in love with him
***** yes, we want!
Yeah that's called gay.
Travis....that's called jealousy.
Mick seems nervous. I don't think he liked being interviewed. I used to see Jeff in Memphis back in the days. Trust me, he wasn't gay. He was a soft spoken dude but not gay. LMAO! He was friendly with everyone. But he was not in love with you just because he was nice to you. Know what I mean???
Oh my god when jeff looks at mick "hehehehehehe"
There you go, he gives his old address in this video when he lived in LA:
1810 North Cherokee Avenue, Los Angeles!
I looked it up 😂
i love how they stare at each other like an old couple
The little close giggle between them towards the end . Ugh, they were like school girls. I appreciate these outtakes because it gives us a preview of their dynamic as bandmates and best friends.
This was beautiful and perfect. Just wanted to hug him all the way through
In our culture "straight" men don´t usually show affection to each others; but some do. And when some do; some "other women" see it as a sign of being gay... Is that really a tendency that we want to strengthen; meaning "straight guys don´t show affection"... I´d say enough of that attitude already - the world needs something else.
Women? More like men. Men are hugely homophobic.
Yes, but it was a woman who made the remark, that made me react... But you are right, mainly it´s men. But some women are too, like BIG TIME-homophobic.
+nimim. Marko Mikkilä Birds of a feather, in the end. A friend of mine and I act like they do. We have an interesting dynamic. It attracts some very open-minded women and weeds out the disingenuous and conceited (of men and women).
It's beautiful to see.
Exactly! A lot of men should stop protecting their machoness so much. Emotions are everything and definitely not a sign of weakness.
I love how they look at each other a lot. So much love and admiration between them ♥
theyre most likely glancing at each other and smiling a lot because theyre high, and thats what you do when youre high and in serious situations, not because theyre gay for eachother😂😂
Exactly! The r high
Lol I don’t think they were just high, dude on the left looked mad thirsty yo... kept staring into his eyes, and straight up grabbed his leg at the end.
Or just because there close friends it’s not so unusual for two guys to be quite close
Couldn't have put it better myself. Perfect assessment. We are all unique, but he was inexplicable in his profound beauty.
I love how they look like a married couple here, with Mick looking adoringly at Jeff throughout the interview. And toward the end when they both look at each other, start giggling, and then Mick puts his hand on Jeff's leg and Jeff puts his hand on top of Mick's. hehe Good stuff!
Amazing vid! I wanted to see this for ages. Thanks for posting! :)
ohhh his interviews never get boring :) you could tell how much he didnt wanna say the last bit saying i am jeff buckley
But the positive thing is that Jeff changed my life :) His music LITERALLY makes me happy. I forget all my feelings. I wish i could've seen him life, and if not, then in the afterlife. My biggest inspiration musically no doubt.
awesome!!! thanks for posting this video. So cute!! *_*
Good god. Anyone who really knows bands knows what the glances are about. Hell, I could see the reality of the interaction in this. It's pathetic how ppl filter things through ignorance of life.
I love what Jeff says about lyrics and their meanings. I never understand it when people argue over the "meanings" of artists' songs, poems, etc. As Jeff says, it's open to the interpretation of each individual, and doesn't need to be analyzed to death. I remember reading somewhere, quite a number of years ago, that he didn't like calling attention to his song lyrics, because -on their own- they sounded sort of ridiculous.
I found a video on youtube in which Mick plays the bass in 2009. He hasn't change ,always quiet and clever!! The video is "In the twilight-Michael Rajani Rehearsal". Love Jeff
"...makes my eyes sweat." I like your words! And that's a beautiful song.
It was a (now old, then new) friend of mine who first introduced me to his music. He was sitting at the computer one day and showed me the music video for So Real and within the first five seconds I fell in love. He then played the Live in Chicago DVD and at that point I'm pretty sure I was floating around somewhere outside my physical body the whole time. It was a spiritual awakening. What about you?
They were really a super group… Mick looked like he didn’t know how to play bass, and those guys are the best, such as a dude like Tim Leferbve per say. They just hold the bass In a way that they’ve mastered it in their own way. The way these guys played together and had a real band sound, it’s such a shame we didn’t get more of course. Such a good looking mid 90s rock band with rock gods. They need much more appreciation, but I know their appreciated by all the greats and so many super fans.
On one interview Jeff said: "...I consist of water for 70 % and 35% of it is woman water...". He was delicate and vulnerable person and he admitted it..who cares if he was gay or straight. May be both. His charizma, talent and voice are absolutely genderless..or better to say universal (he liked this word))
One can’t be both gay and straight. That doesn’t make logical sense. What you mean to say is, bisexual. Jeff was was to ‘straight’ what a mayonnaise sandwich on Wonderbread is to ‘white.’
MojoPin1983 yes, this is what i meant ..but thank you for explanation 😊
MojoPin1983 i see you are the fan of precise wording 😃
Pretty sure he was straight. That he had some femininity has nothing to do with his sexual orientation. In my opinion he was so secure about his sexuality, that's why he could make jokes like "he's handsome" without feeling insecure.
12:54 aw, look at them. thanks for the upload!!
Kennedy! She was always my favorite MTV VJ....
Please please, anybody who has got jeff's Lilac Wine in france at some festival, fantastic version, upload it please!!!
Happy birthday to you jeff you should be here to celebrate x
He was who he was; who cares about his sexual orientation? Apparently Jeff's "white boy guitar rock" = poetic perfection.
he would have never maintained that voice with smoking...his high register would be long gone by now
excellent answer willem. people expect you to be the same person they imagine they hear on the track or on the stage. truth is, artists do what they do because its what they have to do. sometimes the fire inside burns bright and sometimes it burns like a candle.
I can't help but imagine being the meat in that handsome sandwich.
7:10: "Just typical white boy guitar rock". Wow
humble doesnt even begin to describe. lol.
Thanks. I first saw him on Much Music, way back, sometime in the 90s. Then I remember watching the coverage of his death, on the same channel and they showed some clips from the Metro gig in Chicago and I thought his voice was pretty cool. I was only about to turn 14, so I just shrugged it off and didn't really care too much. His name always stuck in my head, though, and around maybe 2001 or so, I decided to look up his music. The instant I heard Dream Brother, I was hooked.
Every time that I fall in love it breaks my heart.
i am so in love with jeff
They are both so cute in here 🥰
So adorable watching them giggle at each other "We're alternative". LOL Like they couldn't be more surprised to learn that.
Whoever the Buckley fan is that posted this, thank you...sincerely appreciative of getting to see this.
@le th I believe that would be me. You’re welcome.
I'd give anything to meet him :(
Careful what you wish for
@@0Cindrum0 wdym
You can find it on youtube and the recording of it is on Grace as well.
Lol are you kidding me? Jeff is my biggest inspiration ever, I absolutely adore him. I'm just telling what I read in a bio. I can't remember exactly who told that, but no matter what, it was from a celeb fan's point of view, and it was only ment as a compliment, really.
"smoking after sex" :')
Jeff is my biggest inspiration too. And he happens to be smokin' hot with a beautiful spiritual soul.
"It's a moveable feast. We'll see what happens next year."
Right on the nuggets
What?
MojoPin1983 listen, genius
This interview was in 1995, he passed in 1997... If that's what you meant with the first comment
"Besides that he's very handsome" )ºuº(
I love the end when they laugh. So cute
Mick Grøndahl is very beautiful.
He’s a handsome guy.
I guess the universe decided these guys are too beautiful and nice to be one of the greatest rock bands ever..
I mean really, they both seem almost too kind.
jeff was such a beautiful person :(
My favorite 2 :)
What's all this about them being gay? From what I've read etc. Jeff is portrayed as straight, but even if he DID have same sex relationships...who gives a shit? The man was a heavenly creature, he can do what the hell he wants.
he was so hot smoking like that omg
He wasn't bisexual. All the band members watched Jeff while they played together. Since they played each song differently, each time, they had to follow his queues, so they could back him up accordingly. He was their leader and they went where he took them.
Neat. Mojo Pin Live at Glastonbury is incredible. My favourite is probably Opened Once. That melody is so serene and it makes my eyes sweat. How did you first hear about Jeff?
Jeff be hiiiiigh
Michael is also so gorgeous and cool. It's a pity the interviewer was terrible. She didn't even ask him any questions which is a pity and our loss as he's very intelligent. Why have him there f you aren't going to involve him in the interview? That's sort of rude actually. You can see that he doesn't mind and how relaxed he is and graceful. Beautiful smile too. They are like brothers in a way. Such harmony.
Maybe Jeff asked Mick to join him for company. The interviewer might not have known beforehand that Mick would accompany Jeff, therefore, he might not have prepared questions for the former.
@@MojoPin1983 even if that were the case, being that he was there the interviewer ought to have adapted. Any interviewer worth their salt would have been able to converse with both of them. It's not rocket science. It was really weird not even asking one question...and Jeff was doing his best to involve him. I don't think he was there just to keep him company and sit there in any case but to be part of the interview.
i saw these 2 a few nights ago at the Brighton hotel in Sydney
12:55 That's so cute. I totally got an flirty wibe between the two
12.54 di una tenerezza unica!! adoro la sua risata "hihihihi" :-D
The act of suicide is deliberate and a conscious act. Doesn't manifest itself "unconsciously" - that shit is called an ACCIDENT. Not all of his lyrics are sad, either. He was a complex man, yeah, sure. Humans are complex creatures. He was obviously really impulsive too...
Things have a way of coming back to us at the right time; when we're ready for them. :)
i thank you now!!! what were they laughing about? so adorable!!!
Ha, that's cool; you're very lucky to have met him.
ммм... басист так любуется Джеффом все интервью))
9:50 Art
His disdain for the machine is everything.
I just died towards the end.
*Guy walks to fix mic and jeff feels arms* Ooh I want one of those XD this guy is a legend
Idk, just from the interviews I've seen, and what I've read about him - he didn't seem like an unhappy, self-destructive guy that people insist on believing, and I don't think he was the type to front anything. Y'know? He was honest, straight forward, and FUNNY. But I agree with you, he wasn't all there... when it came to impulse control.
He was awesome and we miss him. End of the story.
i started smoking because someone close to me died and i was constantly stressed and under pressure through work. It wasn't because its 'cool' in fact id try to cover up the fact i was doing it as it embarrassed me.
He's not even inhaling the cigarette...
what is your point?
he has no point... its just jealousy
Tracey Zuccala Its hardly jealousy, Jeff is dead. He is just making a critical observation.
Patrick Bateman if you smoke alot alot on a day, you indeed barely inhale any more , it's more a character thing
+Patrick Bateman he is inhaling it's just really softly so he doesn't ruin his voice :)
The world is a darker place for having lost this beautiful brilliant musician!!! “Just white boy guitar music, you know” 😱 Oh how I love you Jeff Buckley you were a true artist!
Cheers
Hahaha that actually made me laugh! =)
I'm very postive that it wasn't :) I read the abovementioned in a bio about Jeff
This is the only time I saw Jeff Buckley smoke, I did see him play once Wateloo records, Austin, Tx 1994 on a wim with a buddy who said he had heard of him and just for something to do. Jeff really was that and a bag of chips. Plenty of very sexy UT chicks some real hotties! I bought a promo and had him sign it, I still have it. He was a very far out dude. Yea Jeff was cool.. Miss him!
Apparently at least two video camera’s filmed this in-store promo. Do you know anything about this?
flowersintime.org/show.php?gigid=189
If you’re on Facebook, I’d like to invite you to a secret Jeff Buckley page. Perhaps you can post a photo of your signed promo?
Hahahaha 8:34 "yeahhh. I want one of those!"
@12:54 i love it
@awishedforsong Mick looks that way and acted that way cause he couldn't believe he was actually playing bass in a band with one of the greatest singers of all time.
