I feel a deep connection to this beautiful man and his music. Let’s just say he has helped me through an incredibly difficult time recently. His music speaks to all of us here.
Jeff transcends Rock and Roll, and music in general. And while he definitely belongs in the hall of fame, I think hes so far beyond everyone else thats in it that it doesn't really matter if he is ever inducted or not. He was one of a kind and no one will ever attain the level of artistry and mastery of music that he reached with only one album even. Perhaps Marcie means that so few people are even aware of Jeff. Most people don’t even know that he existed. He is highly lauded by those in the know, but the general population is completely ignorant of Jeff Buckley.
The album Grace is other-worldly; indeed, there is something really magical about it that makes it almost metaphysical. No matter how many times I listen to the entire album, I keep on discovering new things; hidden sounds. It is almost as if Jeff wanted us to sip it slowly through our life journey. A pure gem!
His music was really the thing that was making me so emotional and sad because it was just a pure soul, singing, playing and instrument, making poetry and I wish there was so so much more of it. I know people are not their bodies only..so death sometimes doesn’t really make me all that sad, but seeing all these clips of him just being a person and joking and drinking and hanging out and making phone calls and having all these people who were close with him, remember him, the whole last maybe 8 minutes of them reflecting on what he meant to him really really got me in tears. I wish they hadn’t lost their friend who clearly meant so so much to them. I wish we hadn’t lost a literal music god, he was amazing
Thanks for the thoughtful comment. I would be careful calling Jeff or any person a “god”, however. The only human worthy of that distinction is Jesus; who was/is God incarnate, I believe.
Well..i would call God somebody who helps me to overcome my suiside thoughts, to think about the eternity, and to appreciate short but beautifull moments of the real life - and this is Jeff and his songs. God is everything and everybody what/who reminds us about the preciousness (not sure this word exist) of this life.
Tammy, Jeff wasn’t/isn’t God. Perhaps God worked through Jeff’s music to give you hope, but Jeff was merely a man. If someday I ever become a known musician, Jeff Buckley and his music will be the one that inspired me the most out of anything, he's just so amazingly talented and has changed the way I view music completely. I wish I could've known him back then, seems like he had such a pure kind soul.
Amazing documentary on Jeff Buckley. Bought his record "Grace" back then and I was smitten with the record and fascinated by the sheer talent he possessed. His loss, in my mind, is one of the world's greatest musical tragedies. First it was John Lennon in 1980 and then we lose Jeff Buckley. This one hurts just as much. When I think of Jeff and John, I wonder what great songs we will never hear, but with Jeff specifically, we will never hear THAT voice again.
I only heard of Jeff at the end of last year and I’m 32, I don’t know how that happened. There is not a lot of music that makes you feel that feeling that he emits through music, so uplifting and awakening. He’s so inspirational.
I'm the same, & I'm 56! I think many of us missed Jeff at the time. He made this beautiful music, put it in a time capsule & left it here for us to find in our own time.
I can't believe how people like him so rare in this world aren't so much admiration u ntill they die while we appreciate people in the mainstream that have no interest in making a profound example of what life is about.
Most people aren’t even aware that Jeff Buckley ever existed. They may know his cover of Hallelujah, if anything at all. Additionally, his music is very unconventional and not something most casual music listeners could ever get into because it doesn’t follow standard pop or rock rhythmic structures. Lastly, a lot of his music is incredibly sad and many people don’t like listening to music that causes them to reflect on really painful experiences in their lives. We live in a culture that has largely forgotten what it means to be introspective because we are constantly distracted with cell phones, gadgets and social media. Jeff’s music isn’t background filler or something one can really dance or nod along to; for the most part. It is music that demands a quiet space and one’s undivided attention. It is a contemplative record that takes one on a journey throughout the full spectrum of human emotion and experience. It is definitely an acquired taste that insists upon multiple listening before it starts to make sense. If one were to give the album a cursory listening, they would most likely not get it and never come back to it.
MojoPin1983 I just wish that I knew him in person because Jeff I know would've been my ultimate true friend and idol who knew me for who I was rather than others who perceive the types of person I'd become.

The first time I listened to Grace I remember it was on MTV, I heard his voice and I was blown away. I then saw his face in the black and white video and he was so beautiful. How could so much beauty be all in a single human being I didn't know. After almost 30 years I am still blown away by his voice, kindness, beauty, passion. Such a loss! I don't personally know any person that knows his music, if not just really a couple of songs! That's both so sad and a shame!
Although I’m young (18) Jeff buckleys impact upon my life has been amazing he really has changed my life for the better which is amazing and crazy especially 26 years after Jeff’s passing he deserves every but of fame he gets and I wish he saw the impact he made on the open minded youth of today

Thank you for this extremely interesting documentary about Jeff Buckley. He was a genuine talent that lived and breathed music. I think his talent was way beyond that of his father's.

Don't know if you read these MrMojo... but I've never even seen this stuff about Jeff... he acted kind of introverted, but this is not surprising to me. It's just one of those things that happen.. Glad to have known him even briefly. My entire adult life is dotted with really talented and more "famous" artists I don't even care to remember and have real life stories beginning ... uhhh... The year after Woodstock? '70. Jeff played harp too. You'll hear it when I put it up. Created a rhythm track with no percussion instruments. As far as music people go? If they are nice I like em. If I don't like em I don't care what their name is or who they are. My crazy life...
@DGinLA Original Music With respect, you have made a lot of claims about Jeff, allegedly, being a session player for you. Do you have any way of proving this? I don't mean to be cynical, but I have encountered several frauds through this channel, whose stories, when examined thoroughly, didn't add up, thus, I am always wary of anyone who claims to have known, and worked with, Jeff.
Perhaps he did. There are many songs from these sessions that still haven't been released. The tracks on this album are only a sampling of what was recorded at that time.
He DID play them. Check out the deluxe extended Legacy edition of his Live At Sine CD. (The original 1994 release was a short EP - - essentially just a sampler to whet the listener's appetite.)
What a dissapointment :( i was dreaming to come to usa, NY and to visit Sin-e, Jeff,s place. And it turns out it doesnt exhist anymore...replaced with a shop ((
There's no need for such a film to be made. Most people have no idea that Jeff Buckley even existed, and James Franco is a dozen years older than Jeff was when he died. He's way too old to play that part, now.
@@MojoPin1983 The reason that most people did not know Jeff Buckley existed is exactly why a movie should be made - So people can be introduced(if not already) to a TRUE master artist/musician! My girlfriend at the time was a HUGE Buckley fan and got me to become a fan as well. My teenage kids are now into his music and vibe. No auto-tune, computers, AI etc., This is REAL music at it's best! Yeah, I know that Franco is a little older now, but he was the closest in resemblance that I could think of.

Gone way too soon...
That’s what my gut said, the last time I ate KFC.

I wonder why he didn't played mojo pin and eternal life at these sessions, he did wrote them by that point.
❤️❤️❤️

Yeah same:(
He has another place in Memphis.. its still there
A movie should be made about Jeff Buckley and James Franco should star in it.
@@sonnycusa If a film is made, Terry Crews is the only logical choice for Jeff’s part.
@@MojoPin1983 Okay, that works! I like the way he thinks and what he stands for! His stance on BLM make him a Rockstar in my book!
@@MojoPin1983 I just imagined Terry with a blonde Telecaster, wearing a tight V-neck T- shirt while singing and moving his pecs. Oh, and robot dancing at the same time. I would pay to see that.
Oh to have gone to Sin-e
18:45...
what’s the name of the recording at the beginning?

Unfortunately, they’ve never been released. Actually, some of it has been published. Give me some timestamps of what you’re referring to, specifically.
