I'm Molly, a typical sushi, makeup, and fashion loving millennial girl who just so happens to be blind! I was diagnosed with Retinitis Pigmentosa at just 4 years old and began public speaking at age 5. I started just doing motivational speaking, but now I make videos and even model! Even though I can’t see, I know that there are bright spots in everything we face. Let’s find them together. 💕
Molly: I don't know if I deserve this award
Also Molly: Calls out the room full of advertisers on their accessibility! 😂
I think you're good Molly, not mismatch there.
No she doesn't deserve an award because she is an attention seeking animal abuser.
Also, whenever I hear Molly give a speech I start cryiiiiing. I love when she calls people out for being inaccessible, that's what she's being awarded for! We get to see her fun side every time she posts and it's so nice to see her put the smack down and be a boss. Proud of you molly ❤️
she makes such a impact in her speeches. It’s powerful to hear!
I managed to hold on until the end when she graciously complimented everyone else while simultaniously advocating directly to them for her community... damn I love her
I thought I was the only one tearing up 😊 What a beautiful speech and a perfect time to advocate. So professionally done. Congratulations, Molly!!
Molly, you totally deserve this award. You do so much to dispel stereotypical views of vision impaired persons! I really admire you!
You thought we might not CARE? For heaven’s sake, it’s like a friend won a prestigious award! Of course we care! Thanks for bringing us along. Your speech was perfect!
That end bit of the speech - and how you said it - are exactly why you received that award. 👏
Molly, you did such an excellent job. You weren’t mean, you were very honest and assertive. You had a wonderful professionalism and there is a reason why you were chosen for that award. Congratulations!
I loved that speech. Ironically a word I want to use is to describe the speech is, "all inclusive". It was perfectly comprehensive in giving brief bio, thank you's and the rally for better accessibility and inclusivity. BTW awards are usually glitzy, a bit showy, but this Clio award is art!
Your mom said you were a little sharp, meanwhile, as you were saying that part of your speech, I was thinking how proud a parent must be of you speaking up like that! I thought it was perfect, got your point across, and was done in a very respectful way!
Wait wait wait wait…you APPLY for award shows? I did NOT know. Spill more tea about the industry please Molly
I think it's like scholarships, you have to apply to be awarded those also.
I mean it makes sense, there’s 8 billion people in the world, at least a couple thousand are gunna be applicable for each award. It’d be wild to assume the people who give out the awards check every possible person who could win (and it would be really biased, because then the winner of the award would be more likely to be someone who the award giver already knows instead of the person who actually deserves it)
I thought they were nominated
I never knew you had to apply for award shows, either. I had assumed that if you were nominated for an award that someone would send you a letter in the mail or email the person. Learn something new every day.
For most award shows you have to apply or someone can apply for you / nominate you but you typically have to pay to simply apply
I literally cried at that speech Molly!! Congratulations!! We're so proud of you!!
Not even going to lie, when Molly started her speech, I started to cry and I don't know why lol. Molly, you deserve that award. You are an amazing person and I absolutely loved when you called them out for how inaccessible they were. It was super funny and it was so needed.
Molly told them all in that room what needed to be said! And got an awesome award for it to boot. Bravo!
Congratulations, your speech was flawless and stunning. Brought a tear to my eye! I am dyslexic with hearing loss and struggle to hear in crowded places or even just TV. What you said about accessibility was spot on, amazing 💕
I love when Molly adds her speeches into her videos. She is such a great speaker. She really puts in such eloquent, moving emotion.
Molly, your speech was incredible! Congratulations to you 🎉
An amazing speech with a great and strong message, I 100% agree with your perspective (as a universal-accessible-graphic designer that also happens to be a severely visually impaired a, I might be a bit bias, but it is what needs to be said and done) Love it! and loved the power you set behind your message! Thank you very much, you are such a inspiration to me and you fighting for a better world gets me back on me feet to keep doing the same.❤❤❤
Congrats Molly!! You deserve this and once you got to the end of your speech I literally was cheering you on going “YESSS MOLLY THANK YOU” as a fellow disabled person, I just appreciate you so much❤❤
Thank you so much for adding the call out for accessability at the end of your speach. Nothing could have been more important to say and represent. So in line with your mission. Thanks for not stepping over that.
Elton and the red carpet go together like peanut butter and jelly. He was made to shine! lol Congratulations, Molly. Your work is very inspiring.
Your mother is an absolute legend. I have a very close relationship with my mom, but after several days together there is always tension. I appreciate how supportive and cheerful your relationship is. She is obviously your champion and I can feel her love for you through the camera. Such a gift.
Congrats on having been recognized and honored, but even more so..for the honest message you shared with others in setting that should promote change. Have a safe and beautiful time in Spain!
Your speech was so touching. It really struck a chord. Thank you Molly for all that you do and share. Congratulations on your award.
Congratulations Molly! I am so happy for you to win an honorary award.
It was spot on not rude at all but very clear and important for them to hear
Soooo awesome to hear your public speaking voice and to hear you be your authentic self! You were completely spot on with your comments and not at all rude.
Molly! Your speech was perfect. Thank you!
Congratulations on your well deserved award.❤
I was in NYC last week and found that the public transportation was not wheelchair accessible, even when the website would say it was accessible, we would get there and the elevators would be down. Ended up taking Uber and Lift everywhere which cost me 10xs what public transportation costs.
NYC honchos, please read the above comment and ACT. Now.
Love the driver ❤. He took into consideration Elton’s needs. Congrats on your award. 🎉
Congratulations, Molly, for not only being nominated for the award but also winning it to. Your speech was really awesome and inspirational. Molly you looked so gorgeous in that pink outfit and also your dog elton john looked really dapper too. Keep up the good work. I can't wait to see what you do next video. Molly, I hope you and your family are having a really good day/night. 🇦🇺🤠✌️🔥🎊🐕🦺👩🎊
Wow, Molly, wow!!! Yes…being inclusive is so important. Myself being disabled and walking with a cane, not having access to places where there are curbs that do not drop down to make it easy to walk is a problem. Thank you Molly…your speech was WONDERFUL, and made me cry. Beautiful ❤🎉😊
What airline were you flying where you got such good food?!
And your speech --- especially your "mic drop" moment, was perfect!!
Your positive personality is infectious! I usually am a silent watcher but I have been really struggling with depression lately and thoughts that my life doesn’t have a purpose anymore. Your videos have helped me realize I have to just keep pushing and everything will start looking up soon. So proud of you you really deserve it!
Your not alone❤️ and you are worth living🤗
You look so beautiful Molly! Your speech was perfect. And I loveeee that you called them out. SO Molly and that’s why you got that award!
The cheek was warranted!! I'm so glad that you used the opportunity to speak up about the lack of accessibility. Great work :)
I’m so proud of you Molly! The speech was magnificent! Calling out all the influential people at the end made me smile so hard.
I cried at your speech and cheered at the end. You absolutely deserved this.
Such a GREAT speech Molly! GORGEOUS ALSO! 💕
Keep up the good work, you never let your fans down with great entertainment 😎
Molly,
Good for you for advocating for yourself and the blind community during the speech! It had to be said. CONGRATS on receiving your award!
This is so deserved and your speech was phenomenal Molly! Congratulations!
That speech was perfect. I loved it. That end bit was definitely needed.
Everything about this video was most excellent. I was just thinking how funny you are when you said “Thanks Mom, at least somebody thinks I’m funny.” You two together are so entertaining.
Congrats on the award!!!!
Congratulations 🥳 and the driver was so nice to stop for Elton 😊
Congratulations on your award! Great speech!
Miss Molly, your speech was simply amazing! So impressed and very happy for you.
I was tearing up during your speech!! You've inspired so many people and you definitely deserve the award. Your advocacy and commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion has inspired me to similarly pursue advocacy in my life and my career (I'm the first Deaf medical student in my school's history and I'm in the process of getting disability justice put into our curriculum and doing research on the experiences of disabled patients). Thank you so much for using your platform to support and advocate for our community, and for inspiring others to improve.
HOH here (lol "here sounds like "hear")
Congrats and thank you for the shout-out regarding Captions!!!!
You are awesome!
Thanks also to your Mom, your team, and Elton!
I laughed. "And we weren't the ones that got arrested." I cried. What a speech! Thank you Molly for just being you.
OMG Molly! I actually put in driving directions to my daughter's address who moved to the upper west side of NYC, but I didn't specify NYC and I wound up going over the bridge to Brooklyn!! So glad you caught that! Everything you shared today was amazing. Your outfit, your makeup and especially your speech with your impromptu ending!! No imposter here!!!.....You are the real deal and you deserve to be recognized for it! Congratulations!
The director of that event went home and cried after Molly’s sass haha! But seriously, that’s exactly why they gave the the award, you are always advocating :). I think you did the right thing!
Congratulations Molly! Your speeches have so much power and I want to hear more.
Your award speech brought tears to my eyes. Well done Molly! Sending love always ❤
Wow. Best speech ever!!!!! That was incredible Molly. You should be so proud. ❤
When he started announcing you I could feel tears welling up in my eyes, and by the end of your speech they were streaming down my face. You SO deserve this Molly! I am so happy for you.
2 things.
1) at the very beginning I thought she was off screen until Elton moved ahaha
2) are we going to talk about Elton’s gorgeous rhinestone collar at the awards?! Beautiful
Molly, thank you for constantly being true to yourself and coming as you are. It is truly inspiring. Your speech was just exactly who you are. Thank for setting this example for us.
Outstanding Molly ! My guide/mobility dog Atari and I also thought (ok as a dog handler, I'm not supposed to anthropomorphize him, but hey he watches for Elton John !) it was Great that you reminded those in the room that more needs to change re inclusive content, etc. Congratulations !
Congratulations, and sometimes it is always about Elton, such a cute fur boy
Sometimes Molly forgets....tsk!
That driver was the sweetest
Congrats! Cleo definitely honored a deserving and dedicated recipient. Wish I had known you were in my part of the world. Would have loved to celebrate your Cleo by doing a NYC guide doggy play date with my service doggo. Would have been totally fun! Next time you’re in NYC, it would be my pleasure to show you some cool places you and Elton John would totally enjoy. I love being a tourist in my own city, but being a tour guide would be even more fun. 😊
Molly you looked beautiful! Your speech was just as beautiful! (Loved the little snark at the end!)😂 so happy you were honored with this award! Elton also looked very handsome! ❤
I absolutely loved that add on. They literally gave you an award, for doing just those kind of things molly! Pointing out how they didn’t even make it accessible when honoring someone with a disability shows how important the work is!
Congratulations! What an amazing speech.
Congrats. The airports do that because even though you are sitting down now, you are in a travel area and may want to finish or take your meal with you on a plane. People were probably taking the silverware or then asking for a to go box. now they have to provide a to go box plus wash dishes and utensils. Plus everything has to be at a fast pace in an airport so there's not enough time to wash all the dishes and silverware.
WOW! Her speech 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
You are amazing!! We are with you on that road. Your community sees you, hears you and loves you xx
That speech and the ending was the moment. It can be incredibly overwhelming and anxiety provoking to speak out--but for some of us not speaking out can be even worse. I am so proud to be one of your supporters and you crushed it
Congratulations!!! You totally deserve it!! And loved when you called them out. Amazing!!
Honestly that dress was absolutely stunning 😍❤️
The ending of your speech-I was internally clapping like “YAAAAS GO OFF QUEEEEN!!”
Hi Molly, I also have RP. But I have the slower version. It is painful losing vision slowly. Might be more so because I'm much older then you. But I understand everything you talk about. I watch all your content to help support you. You also inspire me at the same time. Your a very strong woman! Your doing an amazing job! Thank you!
Aww Molly, your speech brought me to tears! ❤ You are most definitely deserving!
That speech was beautiful molly, congratulations a well deserved award 😊 ❤
such a great and powerful speech!! congrats on your award :)
Congratulations Molly!! You look really cute in pink by the way! 🩷
Absolutely HAD to SPEAK UP about the media accessibility changes needed! Well said Molly!!!! Congrats 🎉 😊❤
Congratulations Molly! You totally deserve this! ♥️🥰
Congratulations on your amazingly well deserved reward!!!
Omg Molly HUGEST props to you on ending your speech with pure honesty! Wish more people would say these things instead of keeping shut. Use your platforms when you have the opportunity!! Huge love to you and Niamh and massive cuddles to Sir Elton John ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I absolutely love makeup by mario foundation, idk it makes my skin look so dewy and nice and its the right colour which is very rare
Molly, you definitely deserve this award! We are all so proud of you!! You are right in mentioning accessibility because that is your mission and why you are receiving the award! They should hire you to create more accessibility in companies.
Btw, its shape looks like an Academy Award and kinda like an Emmy.💘
Congratulations!
I admit, listening to speeches usually make me cringe, but wow! You were fabulous, confident and were totally amazing!! Love from Shropshire UK 🇬🇧 x
Your speech was excellent, like insanely good, convincing you need to do more speaking.... I wish you would do more of that
That is awesome how the door handles light up on the car. I've never seen that before on a vehicle! I love that because it makes things easier to see in the dark. I'm not sure whether it's my epithelial basement membrane dystrophy or just getting older, but I find it difficult to see in the dark and so anything that lights up makes it easier for me to see in the dark, which is so cool!
Your speech was AMAZING!!
Idky (maybe because I'm just an emotional empath) but at 18:40 when that man began speaking, my eyes immediately welled up in tears! I'm so proud of you and your speech was perfect! 💓💗♥️ I cried by the end- it was everything! You are amazing! And cried again when I saw the man that referenced you in his speech and said what he said and then came to shake your hand! Beautiful connection!
Omg molly you looked stunning!!! I have optic neuritis from my ms and you have taught me so much when I have my flare ups I use the tips and tricks you've taught me 🎉thank you
Molly love the pink sweater and fingernails, Congrats on winning the award 👏 😂❤! Elton John will definitely think it's all about him. ❤😂🎉!
You looked beautiful!! 😍💗 Congratulations!! 🎊
What a moving speech and event. I didn't know the Clio awards and had to Google them to realise how important they are but I'm not surprised.
Plastic cutlery is a real problem not only is it not sustainable but if someone with spasms is eating and a spasm while they're eating the spasm can break off the plastic and they could swallow it or choke to clarify the spasm could cause them to bite down on the plastic silverware and snap it
This is an example of conflicting needs
Plastic cutlery can be necessary for people with sensory differences. Silverware hurts my ears so bad
Geniune question, wouldn't a spasm while eating using silverware risk causing injuries like entering the palate
@@pegaseg70 it can depending on the disability metal cutlery is something that I am more comfortable with and I wish it were available and yes I have done informal polling with others
omg Taylor (your stylist) heels are rad :D truly beautiful both of you! I feel like a good part of why you got that award is because you are authentically and unapologetically yourself. I loved how you called them out on that because something so simple that they can change to make them accessible
Congratulations on your Honorary Clios! Well deserved. Your courage and truth-telling earned you that award. And, your speech proved their selection was spot on!
Your speech was beautiful and so moving and thought provoking!!! It was necessary to say what you said!
Plastic cutlery in airports is standard due to the fact that people could easily steal a real knife or fork and use as a weapon on the plane. It's been that way for years in UK.
Because after security you don't get scanned again.
How is a butter knife worse than a knitting needle?
MY QUEEN. THE ONE, THE ONLY, MISS MOLLY 👑💕
Congratulations! You deserve it. And as an aside.,.,you've never looked better. You are really rocking the happy and beautiful these days, Great speech and you weren't mean in the slightest. It needed to be said and more importantly, needed to be heard,
lolol the fact that elton was just completely in front of molly in the beginning so cuteeee hahaha
Congratulations to you both!
WOW what a speech! You have great delivery with public speaking. You didn’t miss a beat! Félicitations!!!
Your speech was wonderful, Molly. The truth is that far-reaching change rarely happens unless people are challenged and made to feel a little uncomfortable. You were very respectful and constructive in what you said and provided a clear path forward for these brands.
Molly: “Elton, this is not your video.”
Elton: “Please, mom, we know I am the real reason that people watch your videos.”
I think I remember you putting an ear protector on him for a concert at one point. Have you ever considered putting them on him for a flight or other higher volume experiences? I wonder if it might help him to relax even more. (Not that he seems to need it, but it could never hurt to give him a little added protection.) Also, your driver was amazing! How awesome to get someone who was so considerate of Elton’s needs.
Finally, congratulations Molly!!! You are so deserving of this award, and I am so very proud of you for taking the opportunity to push for even more accessibility. As someone who is also disabled, I can’t tell you how much I appreciate your constant advocacy for inclusion and accessibility!
