I'm Molly, a typical sushi, makeup, and fashion loving millennial girl who just so happens to be blind! I was diagnosed with Retinitis Pigmentosa at just 4 years old and began public speaking at age 5. I started just doing motivational speaking, but now I make videos and even model! Even though I can’t see, I know that there are bright spots in everything we face. Let’s find them together. 💕

I loved that speech. Ironically a word I want to use is to describe the speech is, "all inclusive". It was perfectly comprehensive in giving brief bio, thank you's and the rally for better accessibility and inclusivity. BTW awards are usually glitzy, a bit showy, but this Clio award is art!

I mean it makes sense, there’s 8 billion people in the world, at least a couple thousand are gunna be applicable for each award. It’d be wild to assume the people who give out the awards check every possible person who could win (and it would be really biased, because then the winner of the award would be more likely to be someone who the award giver already knows instead of the person who actually deserves it)

Congrats. The airports do that because even though you are sitting down now, you are in a travel area and may want to finish or take your meal with you on a plane. People were probably taking the silverware or then asking for a to go box. now they have to provide a to go box plus wash dishes and utensils. Plus everything has to be at a fast pace in an airport so there's not enough time to wash all the dishes and silverware.

Plastic cutlery is a real problem not only is it not sustainable but if someone with spasms is eating and a spasm while they're eating the spasm can break off the plastic and they could swallow it or choke to clarify the spasm could cause them to bite down on the plastic silverware and snap it

Your speech was wonderful, Molly. The truth is that far-reaching change rarely happens unless people are challenged and made to feel a little uncomfortable. You were very respectful and constructive in what you said and provided a clear path forward for these brands.

Molly: “Elton, this is not your video.”
Elton: “Please, mom, we know I am the real reason that people watch your videos.”
I think I remember you putting an ear protector on him for a concert at one point. Have you ever considered putting them on him for a flight or other higher volume experiences? I wonder if it might help him to relax even more. (Not that he seems to need it, but it could never hurt to give him a little added protection.) Also, your driver was amazing! How awesome to get someone who was so considerate of Elton’s needs.
Finally, congratulations Molly!!! You are so deserving of this award, and I am so very proud of you for taking the opportunity to push for even more accessibility. As someone who is also disabled, I can’t tell you how much I appreciate your constant advocacy for inclusion and accessibility!
