I'm really enjoying this new warmup! Also just had to say I've been practicing with your warm-ups almost every day for a couple/few months now and I've made significant improvement with my singing! I have a neuromuscular disorder that affects my speech and I've noticed improvement with my speech as well. Thank you for your content, it's made a huge difference for me!
That’s wonderful! Keep it up! I am happy that the videos are serving you well!
Best!
Jeff

Hi Mr. Rolka! You are a very good voice teacher!!!!! 😊😊😊😊😊
Thank you! 😃
@@JeffRolka you are SO very welcome my new friend!!!!!!!!!! 😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇 Thank YOU for all of your great voice lessons! 😁
Thank you Jeff! I’ve been practicing with your warm ups everyday and I have improved so much! Also love that we can see the piano!
Thanks Jeff 😇
Thank you 😊
I'm not a tenor. . I'm just here to support this Chanel.
Sweet!! thank you!
Thanks super!
I revisit your warmups every single day. Thank you :)
Thanks!
Thank you so much for this! This is actually doable for my voice, where Alto and Contralto are both just too high for me to reach.
These are easy to understand, and seem to have just the right amount of difficulty built in. Thank you so much for what you're doing. It literally has made the difference between my giving up on this, and my keeping at it. I'm too low to be able to even reach a Contralto's upper range, and no one wants to work with a female down here in this range. I actually found you while searching for low contralto exercises, and finally just gave up and figured I'd try the tenor warmups just for giggles. And they work beautifully. LOL. These vids of yours have helped SO much over the last few months. :)
That's wonderful! So glad to help!
Jeff
Great warmup thanks
Jeff, your content rocks. Really glad that you can share the skills to create art. Folks have written about what it means to plant trees, the shade of which one will never sit. Jeff, I argue you're planting a lot of trees for many generations here. Cheers.
Thank you so much! You are absolutely right. I'm trying to give folks the exercises and practices to work with their voices and get what they need! Here's to planting more trees!
Jeff
Awesome. Started using you in June for a wedding I had to sing at. Nailed it and now addicted.
That's wonderful! Thanks for watching and great work at the wedding! Keep it up!

Hey Jeff I sing for a living and I've been using your warm ups for 2 or 3 years now and wanted to drop you a line and say thank you for your videos... they're so nice to listen to while driving in to work, and have really helped my stamina and vocal health.

Bravo Maestro!, happy Xmas and a great New Year!! 2022 it's going to be a wonderful change I hope for the music 🎹🎤💎✨✨✨
Can you provide a visual depiction of the vocal ranges on the keyboard? C2 C3 etc..
how do you relearn to sing in a head voice after neglecting it for so long. All I do is mix now and now my highs are limited. Nothing but screeches. I forgot how it feels to do it.
You may have to start at the beginning; sirens, descending one octave arpeggios, and moving on from there. This series is suitable for that:

I hope that helps!
Jeff
Thank you Jeff.. Loved this one... is there a reason for the liproles to be later in the warmup and not at the beginning?
I'm using it to get you to engage a bit more in anticipation of more consistent upper register practice.
Really good. Do you have any thoughts on using a straw. There dosn't seem to be much advice as to whether it's useful or not.
Yes, I did a video on that sometime ago, but in general, all of the semi-occluded vocalizations help with allowing the vocal folds to change configuration more easily, so it can be helpful in that regard. The difficulty is in translating that to actual vowel singing.
Thanks for a great question!
Jeff
Love the vids! I'm so glad you have the hand cam as well!
Ps. Ask your Dr or dermatologist for finasteride, use that along with over the counter Rogaine:D you'll have your hair back in months 😉
You look great as is Jeff
@@timhermes1642 don't worry, I wouldn't advice meds I haven't used 😅
Thank you both for your input and discourse here! I love it when folks get to talking in the comments. I'm probably going to let my hair do its thing, though I had a really weird dream about having all my hair back the other night. It was wild!
I sometimes miss the curls, but with such close cropping as to nearly be shaved, I can't argue with the daily maintenance, or lack thereof!
Thank you both!
Jeff
Killer!
👍❤️
I like this warm up -plenty of chest voice to get in the groove and then some head voice work. But I have a question about range. Upper registration, of course, because what else does a tenor worry about. In your 'full range' videos you generally work up to A4. However, I generally think of a tenor's money notes as being B4 to C5. Is this about genre? Contemporary singers go up to A4 and operatic or classical singers a bit higher? Perhaps most tenors comfortable up to the A and only the exceptional go higher? Just curious, I suppose.
Hello David! Always a pleasure! Great question/observation.
The labelling system I have for the videos is borne out of my private teaching experience and clients' struggles with registration events.
I chose 'full range' as a title modifier to label and emphasize the importance of technique around the secondo passaggio. In a majority of my private teaching experience the difficulty in singing higher pitches comes from this area.
I chose 'extended range' as a modifier for any video that exceeds the third registration event in a given vocal fach. I did that in the hopes that it would impress upon the practitioner the idea that practicing in those areas was somewhat less common than practicing the 'full range' videos/ranges. My hope would be that vocalists would spend a generous amount of time and practice to develop a good registration event around their respective secondo passaggi (using the 'full range' videos) and then be better suited to practicing the extended range practices.
You are correct in that full range for a tenor with a well developed voice (and consequently well developed technique) would be closer to c3 to d5, give or a take a few tones for individual variances.
For those that use the channel regularly, these title modifier are an easy way to identify the range of the video most likely covered, at least on the high end.
Thank you again for such a great insightful question!
Best,
Jeff
@@JeffRolka hey Jeff love your videos, such a big help. Could we get a new Tenor warm down?
Hey Jeff. I’m wondering how to better take my exercises I do with you where I confidently sing on pitch, and better transfer them to songs I’m writing for good confident pitch there as well? (Maybe singing over chords) Be gentle lol. I signed up for the e mail. It was awesome
Great question! I covered this (very briefly) in some shorts that I just recently did. Here's the final one of the series:

I think I missed Septembers email to the newsletter. I'm so bad at that. I have a October worked out, just need to write it! Thank you for being a part of all this!
Jeff
Jeff, i have one question, is that all the exercise are "Properly" done in chest voice, or it's okay to switch to another vocal register ?
The proper way to do these exercises would be to honor your registration events and move through them as your voice dictates! Keep it up! Thanks for subscribing!
@@JeffRolka i didn't expect to get the reply from you this fast. Thank you, now im more confident and know how to improve my voice properly.

Is this suitable for an absolute beginner?
I play the piano but don't have experience singing
Not really. Or at least not all of it. For new vocalists, I made this playlist:
