sounds like the wrong person to listen to! when I was young my father told me I had an unbearable strident voice. That broke my heart but I kept singing anyway. then in my thirties he slipped up once when he heard me singing and said, "God, that's beautiful." I was startled. I said, "But you told me the whole time I was growing up that I had a terrible voice." He replied, "That's because that's not what I wanted you to do with your life." Who knows why you mother said that to you. I can pretty much guess, though, that the comment was deep seated in some psychological problem of her own that has nothing to do with you. SING! It will be the joy of your life!

@@liseliddell9918 This is horrible, to actually lie to your kid just because you want to steer her on the "right" path - that is the wrong path for sure. I had the opposite problem with my son, he has a beautiful Baritone, was actually on the school choir, but as much as i encouraged him he never sang to his full capacity and let it go after school.

I was legit DYING through this whole thing and it made me realize that I don't have really ANY flexibility/agility in my voice. All of these notes were well in my comfort range but some notes I really only hit when warming up and just going through my range note by note, usually with "ah". I sounded SO bad and my voice was breaking and honestly it made me feel pretty inadequate!! 😂

i lived in conviction of that i cant sing at all until my friend - czech singer, told me to test my voice out as i always wanted to sing at least good enough to sing for myself at home and she found out that i i CAN sing, but i only didnt practice my voice and also found out that i am a perfect soprano singer and i can sing higher than her which pleased me as i adore her as one of the best singers of my country and yet she cant sing as high as i can. Yet she is teaching me to find my voice, including also teaching me how to breathe correctly and how to warm up. But because she cant sing as high as i can, i cant warm up my voice completly, this video helped me alot for those warming up my high voice :)

I love this warm up exercise and use it regularly. I sing soprano in a symphony orchestra choir. Right now, my voice is a little rusty, since I haven't sung og slept very much during examin. I could feel, the exercise is perfect, when I am in good shape, but a little demanding on the high notes today. Tomorrow, I will not do the full range soprano, but start with some of your deeper warm up. Thank you for really good videos. We lack classical singing teachers in Faroe Islands, so your videos are really helpful.

So this is the first time I’ve even attempted a proper vocal warmup in about 3 years. I use to be in choir and vocal lessons and was doing really well and able to hit my whistle tones and at my peak had a 4 octave range! Needless to say if you don’t use it you lose it! Was bummed I could barely hit any high soprano notes but hopefully a bit of practice I can hit them once again. Thank you!!

Thank you so much, Mr. Rolka, for this Soprano warm up! This video and the other Soprano warm up videos have really helped me! I have also been practicing with your Triple A method. I use a wheelchair most of the time because of partial paralysis in my legs, and these exercises help when I am sitting and singing! You use the same methods as my opera teacher, so when I cannot go see her, I feel like I still learn lessons from watching these amazing videos! God bless you!!

I have literally always been a Soprano 2
Except for 7th grade (when I was a Soprano 1)
      Literally nothing has changed.
But it's weird and interesting because I can sing super low and kind of high but the gap between them is huge and hard to build a bridge on.

I haven’t done a show in almost 4 years due to the pandemic. Theater used to be everything to me, and I always had fun. A few months ago I decided I was tired of just going to work, coming home, and repeating, I wanted something to do again that made me happy. And I decided I wanted to start warming up my voice again and audition for a show. So I found your video and have been using it ever since. Because of your warm ups, I auditioned for Cinderella, and not only got in, but am an understudy! After 4 years of not singing or doing anything kind with my voice! So thank you, and I hope you know how good you are!

Sang alto my whole life knowing I could “hit” high notes because of my perfect pitch but my tone never being good and then suddenly my last year of college Acapella I was put on soprano and now that I’ve graduated and am trying out for community choir I simply cannot hit the alto range required anymore so time to develop my upper range 10/10 exercises
