This video just made me well up with tears. I remember when I was 13 Yr old and my Dad's Mk2 Escort van wouldn't start. He was unemployed and couldn't afford a mechanic so I was only too willing as an enthusiastic kid to dive in and have a go,he was terrified I'd do more damage but nervously let me try under his watchful eye.
Together we did what you and Chris did here ( he was just as enthusiastic as Rob was when I got her running) and from then on we always did maintenance to avoid labour costs and my skills developed. It brought back a lot of memories as today would have been his birthday but he's been gone 22 yrs now. Thanks for the memories. 👍

I'm sure there is a conversion joint to go from round posts to flat cables...they just bolt in...this will keep the original car cables.

You can buy adapters to take square post terminals to round, they don’t look too bad and the purist could always convert back to square later if they wish.

You can buy an adapter for the battery terminal so you will end up with the best of both. Keeping it original whilst solving the problem. Ford Battery Terminal Post Adapters .Converts Square to Round. EBay.
Probably running ruff as you put the crappy fuel in it should have filled it with premium mate the old cars dont run to clever on the new stuff

Okay. No more complaining about gas prices for me. My goodness that's a crazy price for fuel $7.84 USD per gallon if I have done my math right.
It's about 1.5 US gallons (1lt = 0.264gal) so current exchange makes it $11.79
Premium is even more expensive, but it is well worth it the mileage goes from 387 - 346 , and runs smoother.
