The chrome guard under the bonnet vent is to stop water dropping onto the K&N air filter. Pace intercoolers were very high quality.
Back in the day there wasn't a massive choice, either pace or GRS were the main go to
👌🏼
Also Spec R
@@thecarguychannel Spec R was if you had money 🤣
@@stureeves719 I know. I had a Saph Cossie Rouse in Megenta with all the Spec R gear on. Collins performance exhaust system. Was a very sought after spec. Had a Moss alarm on the dash to protect the car haha. It was chipped by Ahmed Bajoo. Does that bring back memories?
I'd put that through a classic auction, as a barn find. Dust seems to add extra value for some bizarre reason. Nice easy restoration ❤
Definitely, you’ll wash off £500 if you clean it
Agree, MATHEWSONS would be my first port of call, they always get a big turnout and will collect the car.
Absaloutly brilliant video stokzey ❤👍 what a beautiful car sad they can't make them like that any more brilliant
Great cars, I'm 52 goin on 28 yrs old mine keeps me young.
Torque steer - PAS = fast fun.
Great video lad
❤
Happy memories! Back in the day I owned x2 Escort RS Turbos (red and white) and a series 1 RS Turbo. (White of course)
A 200+ bhp car back in the 80-90s was 👌🏻
My mate had a series one rs turbo, bored to 1900cc, a massive turbo and few grand on other engine upgrades ( this was the late nineties) with a 4 speed 1.1 gear box.........it lasted 4 days 🤣👌🏼
They were’t 200BHP as standard. My chipped Red Series 2 was pushing that and killed the gearbox back in 1998. Very expensive repair. This car is similar all bar the wheels as I put 17” Azev A alloys on.
Cant fault the effort on your part stu the channel is definitely back on the right track again 👍
Wow what a car that's probably the best rs turbo barn finds ever no rot anywhere and that interior was mint reminds me when I had my mk 4 escort turbo rep in white top job stu and thanks for taking the time to show us that beautiful motor one ov my favourite cars ever rs turbo escorts rule 💯
Wow that video took me back 20years when I had red xr3i rs turbo lookalike I can smell the inside now thanks for the flashback 👍
Still the 2nd best intro of the car related channels I watch and I always look forward 2 what upload you provide us with man.
I didn't have the pockets for an RS back in the 90's but I did own a very nice XR3i for almost 2 years until my daughter was born then had 2 sell it what with it being 2 door, mine was an F plate 89 from memory and it's probably the only car I still think about, sure the world wasn't perfect back in those days BUT it was a lot simpler.
Cheers again mate and your dedication is always appreciated.
Thanks!
Good looking rs turbo
Good to see more folk trusting you with coming to film there old cars stu brother keep up the good work
Wow what a fantastic video looking forward to your next video keep going mate 💯 👍
Great video as always bro keep up the good work 👍🏻
I love your videos. New to your channel I spent last weekend watching all of your videos. Great content. Many thanks 👍
I used to have a 1989 on a G reg white. What a motor…. It’s a shame people back in the day used to change the alloys . In my opinion , the dog leg alloys looked better!
Nope. Standard alloys on anything are boring. Aftermarket all the way
We all changed them, now look everyone wants standard 😀
The OG's were much better than what are on this, the Turbo's had the double dog legs, single dog legs on the XR3i's. The Gen 1 RS wheels were best though. But I did love the TSW Venom's, still see so many wheels inspired by their design on so many cars, including supercars.
I agree my brother had 3 of these and the stock alloys on them way nicer than these ones shame they were removed devalues car too...in fact the rs turbo stock alloys were one of best features on the car
@@leekindell9937 mine was totally standard from the factory … quick enough for me
Great video Stu the car is absolutely beautiful she needs to be back on the road again. 👍
That's lovely Stu and yes i would like it 😂😉
All the best dude 🤜🤛
Stokzeeeeee my man 👊
That car looks in great condition.... Good wash and detail 👌
Been a passenger in a couple never owned one sadly it cries out 90s dance tunes when you look at them
Unbelievable!! This is what it’s all about.
such a beautiful car❤️
Wow stu what a great car your bring back so many memories back in the 80s that car needs a good detailing and cover over it nice to see you not up to your eye balls in brambles keep up the great video 👍🏻
Forgotten for over a decade, probably for the best
I had quite a few Escorts XRs mk3/4 and Fiestas R/S They were cheap hot hatches and good fun. GTIs it could keep with but the mk2 Astra gte it couldn’t always handle. I blew 2 up racing one back in the late 90s. If only I had kept a couple 😢. Good times
That's one to keep. only go up in value.
This new format content direction what ever you call it.. definitely up my street stu👌 Carnt believe I saw Annie for sale 😱 hopefully she going towards a new master project 🎉
Fair play to that man for sharing
first thing i done wen ever veiwing a rs is pop up the back seat , norm fkd with rust , i had a 90spec lambo spider green 17 coats of paint , and cadburys perple vents and alloys .. tuned and built by inter-Pro , running 245 bhp in 2001 .. Animal
This car 100% needs to be put back on the road. Great video. Very much interested in this
Morning stu great video mate I always wanted a escort rs turbo but never got round to having one
Great vid mate good content as always!! Ps Nice Escort!!
Loved my 80’s fords, biggest regret swapping my 89 XR2 for a case of Stella 🙁
That steering wheel and dashboard layout looks so familiar to nineties Ford's. Takes me right back. That example has survived well.
This car to bring back some memories love the RSTurbo 👌
D-reg was the year to stay clear off I’m surprised it’s not turned to dust
Late c plates too. No galvanised steel.
❤Another excellent video Stu your on a roll mate keep it up mate 🎉🎉😊😊
thanks stu just beautifull and the intro music oh man how much time did you put into this video as usual just perfection nothing but love and thanks
Morning stu. That’s a nice find. My sister had one the same on a D plate but in white unfortunately cam-belt stripped on the M25 at speed piston’s hit the valves. She traded it for a 16v golf GTI. Keep up the good work 👍.
That car can be brought back nicely. Such a boring dash and steering wheel for a sporty car ford could have done more.
I dreamed of owning a car like this when they were new. I'd see them overtaking me in my 1.0 Metro 🚗
Loving the content Stu keep it up brother
Looks like your channel is finally starting to gain a bit of weight. Well done. Really enjoying the new content. 👍
Nice one Stu as always 👍

This is yet another Ford Escort you’ve found…. Stokze these classics are very hard to find on the roads mate…. They’re tucked away in an abandoned field in or in a barn. But you’re the man for finding these long loss 💎 man keep it up 👍 Stokze good show mate. Next video let’s see where it takes you can wait 😎👍👍
Max Power 😎👊👍
Great find stu
Good video mate keep up good work stu
I love these escort turbos, helped an old school mate n his bro 20years ago restore 1 n now, I would give my ball sack to own 1,such an amazing n beautiful car
Just the sack or does that include both balls 😂 love these cars too man
i owned 3 of them back in the day, 2 red ones and a black one
can remember paying £5500 for the last one i owned and thinking i must be mad paying this much money for this old escort lol
if only i knew i would have brought a few and put them away for a few years
@@orbytl2799 if only we knew how much they would rise in value. I had a 106 xsi years ago in immaculate condition low mileage, blue carpets ect, sold it for 400 notes 😳 also the number plate had mega value as it was M116 DAC. 😥
great 80s car nice to see not rotting away in there day was the car to have great times keep up the good work imstokze🛻🛻🛻
I want one so bad, shame about that one's numberplate tho 😂. Great vid 👌🏻
In Germany we never said it was the Series 2 Escort RS Turbo. Here it is simply the Escort MK4 RS Turbo.
It looks really good in red and the condition is really good.
Thanks for your great video.
Greetings
Klaus from Düsseldorf
It has a years ticket on it now, nice to see it’s coming to life again
That RST is beautiful 😢
awesome car and good video 😊😊😊
Brilliant video Stu I travelled many a mile in my mates RS Turbo. It was a F reg car in black and it went like stink.I owned a xr3i myself as couldn’t stretch to get the RS at the time. My xr3i was a E reg in mercury grey and just wish I still owned it now.
Oy !!!!! I listen to cds all the time and I still buy them 🤣🤣🤣🤣 oh my gawd, I forgot about those tape storage in fords lol. I thrashed plenty of these about in the 80s 😁😁
Great vid Stu , my question is why has it been parked up so long ?
Very clean car.
ha the excitement over a tesco bag
Love the videos
Bring bk olde skool memories 😊 Can't understand why this featured car wasn't kept clean? Why didn't your not talk about its engines bhp and mods much in your car videos????
I had a red one just like that at 20, my first real hot hatch. Over the years it ended up with a custom chip, custom intercooler, stage 2 head, 5th injector, water injection, cam, paddle clutch… and many many gearboxes.! Happy days…. After the Escort, yep got a Saph Cossie, it was quick but not as much fun, I ended up buying the Escort back 🤦♂️ Pace make great gear, in fact when I got my S1 Focus RS they used my car for the development work for the existing charge cooler system fitted to the car….
That must be rescued..its a classic and worth a lot in auction.
Crackin vid Stu 😉👍back in 92 i bought an F reg red 1 done 26000 miles reg F600 DRH bought in Hull it was fab car put Scorpion exhaust on it a 3 inch one you could get in 4 inch but looked silly fab car at time and fast hot hatch unfortunately had to sell it in 96 to put deposit on first house wish i still had it 🥲🥲
Gorgeous car just buy the 2 Mate
What a car sad I never drove one but loved one day to try
I see it's had the bumper trim removed and smoothed front and back. A common mod back in the day along with the smoked rear lenses and the bailey dump valve. Looks like a good'un!
Did this ever get sold ? Cracking find just subscribed 👍🏻 keep up the good work lads love these motors
I’d love ❤️ that RS …. Mate had a white one back in the day. …. Complete with car phone 👍
"Pamela Anderson in her 20s" 🤣🤣🤣 class bruv 🤣
I've got them hardcore till I die CDs, used to play them in the truck 👌 Escort doesn't look a bad thing to be fair 👀👍
I bought a new escort in March 1987. It was made out of rust and a very flimsy construction.
Good memories of it though.....
Ps. There is a piece missing from the coin holder on that rs turbo
Excellent content.
What a nice find.
I'm guessing 20k.
Wat a shame that rs turbo just sat there still wish I had one my mate had one in the 90s black one that was chipped and other good bits on it was bloody quick 😱🤪 but like any ford needed a lot welding which I did then it got written off I hope he gets it back on the road as he only had it on the road three years out the 15 years he has owed it keep up the good work stu 👍👊
i see that mk2 golf in the background (:
Smashing it mate keep up the graft it’s definitely paying off 🔥👍
Wash it bloody wash it!!!!!!!!!
what a car! great condition aswell, i remember stripping one at the scrap yard to put the parts on my 1300 L, 30 odd yrs ago when i was a bad ass 18 year old,,,,lol great times!
You had to be quick if one of these landed in a scrappys
@@YGELLYPIKER yep lucky for me my friend worked at the yard, it had front end shunt, £200 and i had seats, door cards, steering wheel, wheels, rear spoiler, scoops etc
Nice restoration for some one looking for solid Rs turbo getting rarer by the day not sure what you was more excited about the Tesco blue and white brand bag or the crisp packet 😂😂love the Rs 👍🏽👍🏽
Stu you should have asked Paul to pull the RS TURBO out AND GIVE it a wash that would have been nice to see
Pace intercoolers were the one back in the day. I had full front mount pace on my s2 . Good I miss my s2 and my saff 😢
The tape with the oil filler cap is common, they needed to be air tight, if not they would run but not idle 👍
If it's blowing the rocket cover cap off (Tape around the cap outlet), it's either got a blocked crank case breather or the engine needs a rebuild due to blow by the pistons, it then causes too much crankcase pressure hence it blows the cap off, I know cause I owned lots of fords from that era when I was younger, the best one I owned was an black XR2 E405 BTV, looks like a nice clean car, take care 🙂.....
How the hell is that D reg not rotten is a miracle as ford had a bad batch of metal as you said i had a orm mint green xr3i on a D reg & omg i had to replace a lot of panels & welding on it & did a lot on that year ford's
Nice find stu 👌🏽👍🏻
Had one early 2000s I still miss the way they built boost on old turbo cars
If you had fords in the 90s u just no wot it’s all about 😉😉😉
squad e cd rip legend
Love Squad-e got all his tunes what a legend Wayne was. Rip brother
YES brother great review on this retro rs turbo & she looks solid😊 your tracksuit is bad boy🔥👍👍 I’m gonna email you some photos of a garage find R/S turbo that I’m trying to buy / I would like to know your thoughts on it bro and what kind of cash I should be offering 👍 Always BIG RESPECT brother .
On a D reg it’s a early s2 r/s turbo as I had a s1 on a d plate and it changed to mk4 shell in late 86/87
HTID yes mate love me Hardcore 🙌 respect to his taste in music. Crazy to leave it dirty i would have leaned ana waxed it and kept it clean and run it every week. Look it looks great with the softlines. Get it valeted now see it looking great again do the video Stu.
Pace make performance radiators. For BSB etc
Worth 10k -12k all day long 👍
That car should be put back to original factory spec , without seeing underneath it looks fairly good, It would still require some serious cash spent but it would be worth it.
A survivor. C plate - through to E - rotted terribly. Not just escorts - sierras fiestas and granadas were all affected.
I had a black S2 E reg ,I also have others sat and a white 90 spec Rs in my garage sat since 2011 owned over 20+yrs looks standard on the outside other than smoke rear lights and clear indicators, mine has a chipped ecu scorpion 4" GRS header and intercooler custom inlet with mfi and 5th injector plus momo race wheel, interior/ seats doesn't have any sags ripples or rips, failed mot in 2011 on front brake pads and a little welding needed but nothing major,
I also put brand new spax adjustable shocks and springs on 25mm drop and new tyres before putting it away 👍
any of them for sale bud ?
@@martinparker9249 sorry bud wish I could help you on that 1 but I'm a ford guy through and through, I have 2 older fiesta's aswell and another 79 limited 1 million addition mk1 fiesta moving into to my workshop that has been sat in dry storage since 87 all keepers on my side, I run a classic resto garage myself so have a lot of cars in for customers you just dont see these days.. in between customer cars I restore my stuff bit by bit 👍
Wow I know this car it was owned by a mate from the 90s til mid 00s
Spent many an evening around Birmingham in it . Think it was damaged in the early 90s as my friend put it back on the road
😎
nice find i would buy it stu is it still for sale
Theres an allan key screw below the vent, you turn it to adjust the fueling on metering unit they rust due to the water getting jn vent and seize- hence the plate on the vent
Shoulda heated the Tesco bag up ,lol
That is tidy for a d plate, fords used to rot really bad on that year for some reason
Do ya homework on em more bhp year of launch etc pal. But gr8 content cheers
