@Terry Winter fix or repair daily that’s what Ford stands for doesn’t it
I’m surprised you bothered especially with a recall on it
@Terry Winter they arent, but i do agree that toyota is reliable
I'm just surprised that thing cost you as much as £250
I think this is a great video. Bit different from the norm and a real challenge for you guys to work your magic on. Brilliant. Keep up the good work guys.
Too many good cars go for scrap, it’s nice to see another unused, abused perfectly good car being brought back to life, well done guys. 🙏👍
Yes I agree but Ford Focus does not fall in the category of good cars.
These cars are why I’m here, most people would walk away, you boys know you can turn it around and give it a new lease of life and it won’t take 30 episodes.
Well done gents 👏👏
Cracks me up Chris takes the micky out of you Rob “dont get yer trainers wet” hahaha.
@Luke Darby - deffo quote of the video 😂😂
A LOL moment for me, is Rob like those drug dealers who buy a new £500 pair of trainers every day?
While other RUclipsrs just talk, you fellas get so much work done! Impressed with the amount of progress!
Congrats Rob and Chris on hitting 190k subscribers…I’m not surprised, excellent content and two great genuine guys! Well done!
Strangely doesn't really matter what the car is ...When you can pull one back thats considered a goner it always makes for good content . love it. 😁
‘Dont get your trainers dirty mate!’ Chris is a star! Only concern is where that water has sat in the floor pans. Guess for £380 all in you can’t go wrong even if you only ask £1k. Just when I think I’ve seen everything you come up with something different, love it. Thanks for another great video guys 👍
Let's hope Ford did a proper rustproofing job then.....!
@@andymccabe6712 hope so 🤞
You can guarantee it will be alot more than 1000 pound prob double that mate
@@andymccabe6712 unlike the Ford cortina and Sierra days😕
@@andymccabe6712 Speaking from many hours of experience pointing a mig welder at my Transit, I'm going to say probably not! 😂😂😂
Really love this project - bringing a car back from the dead. Cracking job guys 👍👍😊
This must be the most satisfying job literally turning a hobby into a career... round of applause to both of yous would love to have the time to even do this outside of work never mind doing it as a job
This one reminds me a lot of the state of my neighbour's sons car when he returned from university after 3 years. £80! What a deal, at that money you could get yourself a Focus 3 piece suite for the living room. Melamine sponges work a treat on those really contaminated dirty dashboards etc. Excited to see the transformation. A set of sporty graphics or a coachline would liven it up that somber black no end. Thank you.
"Chris has got his Recaro Out" - That's golden hahaha :)
"The air-con's working" = Top of the list of priorities :)
"Chris brought his Recaro", priceless.
I actually enjoy these projects most. It'll be so satisfying once completed. Nice one
Wow that is an epic save I think Chris was being polite because the camera was running when he first saw it lol.
Most people would have run a mile . Fair play gents for trying to keep it on the road.
Too good not to get back on the road, fair play to you lads for getting your hands dirty..
That poor RR, what had it done to deserve being dragged about like that! Such an unusual video, and she's a proper minger. Looking forward to this one lads! Definately an interesting story behind this car.
Well Rob and Chris, it least your putting it back on the road, it definitely deserves some love, especially with that mileage, and it least it's in the correct hands you both know your work is phenomenal 💥🧑🔧🧑🏭
What are the chances i come across this video. Back in 2014 i was working at a Ford dealership in Dunton/Basildon in Essex and when ever we needed to road test a car in order to diagnose a suspension fault/noise me and another technican would go down a really poorly made road that was off a country road about 2 miles away from the dealership. While we were driving down said road once we actually come accross this very focus park up deep in the bushes infront of what looked like a derilict little house (the one you have a picture of that you used for the thumbnail) it still had the boot lid on but the bootlid glass was smashed through due to a branch falling and putting it through. It had a tarpoolin accros the parcel shelf to replace the smashed rear window, and it was absoultly brimmed with beer cans as you mentioned , must of been well over 200+cans. We got out the car and walked over to the focus to get a closer look but as we got near it the passenger front door opened and a really rough looking, fairly old homeless man poked his head out and just stared blankly at us. That was enough weirdness to make us turn around shaprish and get back in our car and drive away. I took a picture of it and run some checks on it and it had been bought from our dealership back in 2010 and as you said it had never been mot'd. like you, we found this very strange and bizzare. For the next year whenever we went on road tests we would always pop down the little country road to see if anything had changed with the focus but it never did. It never moved, it never changed and the only differnece there was everytime we wnt down there was the ammount of beer can that were appearing. The foucs was so full of old beer cans that the guy that was living in it started dumping them all around the car on the floor. After about a year and a half of first discovering the foucis back in 2014 the man that was living in it had dissapreaed but the car always remained. The last time i went down there and had a look at this car was probably 2019 and it was still there then. It was a very strange road in the middle of nowhere that we found this car and there were other cars that were abandoned in the same area aswell. There was an old landrover, a transit connect, a mk3 escort estate and to this day there is a 2006 mercedes c-class in there. If you like i can tell you its exact location and road that it was abandoned on for 99% of its life and if you fancy it, you could go to it yourself and see the other cars that are there and just have a little mooch about. Just let me know :).
P.S. There is an abandoned barn deep in the woods that i found that had 2 mk3 fiestas, a mk4/5 escort, a 2003 citroen and a old rover convertable thing (i took pictures of all of this and still have them if you would like to see them)
If you look at the number plate, it should say at the bottom of Essex Auto Group, that was the dealership we worked at and that it was bought from.
@@bradleydorman2298 mate, that is one hell of a story. As I was reading your comment I was actually picturing what I was reading and I must say what a bloody brilliant find you came across. I would have at least spoke to the guy but I can see also that anybody would get freaked out. Would be a great explore.....
Despite its woes it's a survivor car,and who ever buys will know the history thanks to the video etc . 🤙🏻
Thank god for Kent Auto Salvage. This is recycling at its finest. Hopefully everyone makes a few quid too!
Certainly keeping content fresh on the channel with challenges like this.... looking forward to the finished article.
Rob "We're gonna valet this car" Chris "I'll get the leaf blower"
Love it! So pleased you did this, but f not for the profit but for the challenge and the process involved! Keep it up!
Really enjoyed that vid!! Proper salvage 😃😃 didn’t want that vid to end ☹️
Jeez!
I can’t believe the things you guys take on.
You are either brilliant or barmy!
But I absolutely love it.
Keep it up 👍
That trainers comment! 🤣 Love that chris is starting to speak more. Top man... maybe even my fave episode to date a made me laugh a few times.
Guys, this is great! With the RS, newer cars, older cars, quick flips, salvage wrecks and now something you are essentially bringing back from the dead, it's brilliant content and something a little different. Most wouldn't even look or touch this but you guys will turn this around and I'm sure many like me enjoy it.
Look, I work in radio so I get it... You can't do the same stuff or people get bored and honestly, your bringing variety and a few surprises along the way. It's what keeps an audience interested and you're doing a brilliant job. Enjoyed this one and looking forward to the next one.
For the mileage and the sound of the Engine on start up, it was worth saving and investing a few quid on. Looking forward to the next video.
Cracking little find this one!! You lads are very lucky with being looked after by the salvage yard, this wouldn't be viable for most to repair. Wouldn't like to say how much I'd have to pay for all the interior and tailgate at my local salvage yards
Can't wait to see how this one turns out. From mobile swimming pool sinner to showroom winner ( hopefully ) Nice to see Chris using his hairdryer on the car :)
No worries rob you’ve got a chris he’s like a Swiss Army knife. With lots of attachments like hard working lots of talent very resourceful and if it don’t work out he’s got a farm to make it disappear 😎.
#InspectorGadget :) 😎
When in doubt breakout the G101
Pond drained, car recovered, rear hatch fitted and mice displaced not bad for the first video. Great content guys....
One of the best videos Rob and a true salvage rebuild can’t wait to see the end result
This is brilliant. Can’t wait to see if you can bring this back to life.
Good video guys. On first view, I thought what on earth have you bought! But you show that you have to look past the dirt and smell because even if you are not a mechanic, this is the type of project that any reasonable DIYer could probably handle and end up with a nice little reliable car👍 It would be interesting to know how it got into that state.
You might need an ozone generator to get the smell out of that and if its been that wet you might need to replace some of the modules and stereo if they have got damp enough and started to corrode inside or in the wiring connectors. You scrappy did you a good deal on the parts car. If it was me I would have definitely gone for this project for that price.
Nice to see something like that get saved, so it can continue to be used. That will make someone a nice car for many years.
One of the best video's yet guys.
Mission impossible turned out quite possible.
Look forward to the next one.
Biggest mouse trap I've ever seen! Interesting history, but the future looks good with the parts car. Eager for part 2.
What? An honest car-flipper? I don't belieeeeve it! 😀
Nice to see the Mk1 Cabby in the yard. A classic.
In 2019 a friend asked me if I wanted to buy a 1.6 petrol in black as his elderly neighbour passed away… 1 owner 32k on clock , 1 owner 2008 titanium and garaged all its life… was like brand new… I bought it to sell on but it was that nice I’ve still got and put 15k on it since, it’s perfect, slow as hell and rubbish on fuel but it’s one of the cleanest cars I’ve seen Especially underneath, I payed £850 because that was what they was asking , found a receipt in the glove for £400 for 4 new tyres a month before I bought it… I was over the moon! 👍🏻
Wow, UK salvage yards are so much more beautiful than US ones. Love your hedges and those trees in the back!
The water probably saved it in a funny way,the mice probably abandoned ship as it filled up.
This the the definition of salvage rebuilds! Going to really enjoy this one, no jobs to big for ye too, best of luck 👌🏻
16:44 Chris: "Don't get your trainers wet Rob" Now I know the secret as to how they stay so clean 😂😂😂😂😂
Robs gonna add a G101 Trainer Kit with a tag line Get Involved and clean your trainers !!
Of all the projects you do these ones are my favourite!
Can't wait til the next episode.
Great stuff, thanks 😃
What a great video...so glad it didn't just get scraped, other countries fix and rebuild, we normally just chuck stuff away....well done.
Looks like you both enjoyed yourselves doing up this vehicle. Something completely different as not many people would have bothered with all the work involved. What low mileage though and a one owner vehicle. Well done chaps but would you ever decide to do another one or was this just a one of project to show viewers what you can do if you are dedicated and put your full intentions into rebuilding this vehicle. Have to take my hat off to the pair of you team work and 100% completely amazing what you have both managed to achieve brilliant job and you are both one in a million as I don't know anyone who would have taken this project on.
I bet Chris didn’t rush around that for any loose change
I love it that Chris is worried about Rob's trainers, the one liners do make me laugh. Cheers guys.
Cracked me up
Chris didn’t want the smell in the workshop 🤣
@@AndyK.1 Love it 🤣🤣
It's always good to see a car being saved no matter what it is, I cant wait to see it finished 😊
Been wit you since day 1 and found this the best video ever, loved it Rob and Chris , credit to you both, credit to Mark for looking after you both 👏 👍
Cheers dude have a lovely week 👍
That will be a little peach of a run around for someone once it’s done Rob. Looked after, it’ll last for years! Well done chaps, look forward to see how it works out…👍😁
Go for it Rob. It'll be a car someone can use for years to come if it's completed.
They say you can't polish a turd, but you guys are giving it a go , fair play to you ,😁👍
I must say I do admire your work ethic. Looking forward to seeing how this car scrubs up.
Brill video Rob. Love these type of "bring a car back to life" videos. I would have been scared taking it to show chris as well mate. Good job but made even easier with your deals with the salvage yard.
Some elbow grease and looks good already. Cant wait to see how it turns out, you and chris take care.
Looks to be a Lovely car underneath, I'd love to know why it was parked up and the story behind the hatch being cut off
Probably a stolen car recovery. They took the hatch and parts of the interior.
edit; sorry, missed that.
@@firesurfer look at my comment for the stroy of this car
Massive clean up job on this and thought Chris was going to lose it when he came to see it lol but your gets spare parts no problem, you might need a cat for any mouses hiding in the front dash lol..fair play great video
Wonder what the valeters would have said if you dropped it round before you had started cleaning it
You guys are just so inspirational. Most impressive is your work ethic. I share your videos with my 10 year old son telling him, "look what you can do with hard work and determination".
Keep up the good work. And thank you.
Love the way you keep coming up with something different on your channel - great video. Rob seemed a bit apprehensive when he first showed Chris the car but he was realistic and could see its potential. Getting all the bits from Kent Auto Salvage at a great price helped, really look forward to seeing you guys bring this one back to life.
"Don't get your trainer's dirty Rob" 😂 been waiting for a comment like that from Chris.
Been dying to say that myself for ages, I’m from the toetectors and overalls era!
@@joshnnik as am i wearing my steel toe caps today in the yard and work shop in 28 degrees lol my boy would of thought there was something wrong with me if I turned up in pink shorts and white trainers to do some work 😂
@@danielgreen4213 You should see Chris's hot pants and blonde wig. I'm waiting to see the rainbow flag over the shop.

When you hear "3 pa'ats wou'a" and the auto-subtitles can't even capture it you know this is the Brittest vid out there :D Love it, mates, keep the fun goin'!
One of the most interesting videos yet, looking forward to seeing the transformation.
Another great vid guys! I always have a giggle at your banter...... "Air con is working" top priority when buying a car lol, Chris' Recaro seat - absolute gem of a comment but the best of all....... Chris.... "don't get your trainers wet Rob" - comedy gold! keep up the fantastic work guys, always a pleasure to watch your channel. Can't wait to see how this one turns out!
What a pair of legends you to always seem to amaze me with the jobs you do
Rob, i would take the dash out as i bet that there will be mice nests under the dash.
Mrs Richards: "I paid for a room with a view!"
Basil: (pointing to the lovely view) "That is Torquay, Madam."
Mrs Richards: "It's not good enough!"
Basil: "May I ask what you were expecting to see out of a Torquay hotel bedroom window? Sydney Opera House, perhaps? the Hanging Gardens of Babylon? Herds of wildebeest sweeping majestically past?..."
Mrs Richards: "Don't be silly! I expect to be able to see the sea!"
Basil: "You can see the sea, it's over there between the land and the sky."
Mrs Richards: "I'm not satisfied. But I shall stay. But I expect a reduction."
Basil: "Why?! Because Krakatoa's not erupting at the moment?
Im glad you cleaned that floor pan up, making it abit safer to be in while cleaning and scrubbing, Are you going to pull the dash to see if there is any mouse houses behind it?
Truly inspired. You pair are definitely Wombles, "making good use of what folks leave behind", old school make do and mend. Love how once you get the grit between your teeth you just go for a quick forage. Mark sounds like he's becoming the third member, your at his place more than at the yard. Nice one. Thanks for yet another great vid guys.
Really enjoyed this video. again very different love that you mix things up. 10 out of ten viewing content. Want to see it finished. 😍
Great video. That Chris is so cool, he could freeze a furnace. “Don’t get your trainers dirty Rob” That was payback for turning up with a shitty old car.
Can’t wait to see it finished.
Loved the video bet t he car's got an interesting history of why it ended up that way...tailgate a total mystery..
He lost his license bud the woods was his garden and the chap I bought it off stripped it out and started to do the job 👍
Well worth a punt that car! Little gem in disguise. Probably needs a cambelt still though 🙈
Yup, they rot regardless.
Fantastic video really enjoyed it. From finding the car to looking for the parts at the breakers.First class.
Fantastic! This will make a cracking affordable car for someone when you have done it. Cant wait to see it finished.
Bargain that with that mileage can’t go wrong full spare parts car is ideal
Indeed! Though the wheel trims are so expensive my dad needed a new set for his focus style estate as the prev owner curbed and bent them
Chris wit is on fire today
This is an interesting one, will be good to see the final result and that engine sounds as sweet as a nut, can't wait to see it finished 😎
Rob Chris this is my favourite you tube channel - cant wait to see this one finished, keep up the good work guys 👍
Robs videos just keep getting better and better!
Love a good Focus MK 2.5,good luck on the further rebuild Rob! :D
Great video as always!
Do you have a back story on this? How did such a low mileage car end up in this state in the first place?
Well that last owner took the old-fashioned saying Dagenham dustbin and made it a reality
Love it , don’t get your trainers dirty Rob . 😂😂
Hats off guys you know we love these vids, strange history....1 owner, no MOT, crazy low mileage, boot ripped off then used as a skip?! Well done, you deserve a profit on this.
Proud of you guys, that's what I call proper recycling which is going to benefit both you and its new proud owner.
I've had to keep pausing this Rob, can't help laughing...... lets see what you 2 end up with! 😂😂😂
I spent the whole video thinking about the history of the car and how it never got an MOT, how much money was thrown away by the owner and how it ended up in such a sorry state.....boggles the mind.
i know a fella close to where i grew up hes got 1973 cortina estate and a 1600 e f reg orion and he bought them new but never was arsed to give them an mot.if he couldnt give it away to a family member when he bought a new one he would just sit it on the drive to rot.hes now nearly 90
@@rampantram1 An Orion 1600E? Omg I think they only made about 1500 of them if I remember right. I know that once you've bought something you do what you like with it, it's yours but still I don't get the logic of doing something like that guy close to you did.
@@graemew7001 hes not on his own i bought a 54 plate pug 206 about11 years ago off a farmer with only 7,000 miles on the clock no mot it had just been used by his wife for 2 years into town and back for twice a week and she had broke her hip in the snow and ice in a fall.the car got parked up and virtually never used again had not had its first mot i bought it for 800 quid. The farmer used to come in my mates garage to get his 4 x 4 fixed and i offered him that as it wasnt no longer starting i put a new battery on it whacked the starter to engage it through a car wash and for an mot it went straight through lol
I've seen cars like this that the owner has died and the car has just sat. No idea why you'd take the interior out though

I really enjoy their videos too, it’s good to see the cars returned.
Would love to know how it ended like that given that it’s HPI clear.
That red Range Rover sport looked nice as well
