Sold by Copart in the US and being sold by Copart in the UK They knew 100% hence all the pre inspection check disclaimer, and hiding behind Covid so you can't see it in person, thank god for due diligence on your part and for car vertical, brilliant video to put out regarding making checks on cars
If you could trace the history of this vehicle so should Copart UK. A £50,000 vehicle should be honestly represented, especially as it came via Copart U.S.A.
You say within the video that you don’t blame Copart for the history you uncovered. But, given that it went through Copart in the US as a write off/total loss I wouldn’t be that generous!!
This has got to be the best ad for car vertical. I don’t think I’ll be buying anything in the future without fully checking the history. Definitely well worth the money for the check👏
Thanks for not deleting this video, quite an eye opener! I wonder if the car couldn't be made road legal or insured in USA and was brought to UK to be sold in an attempt to cover over the history. Good job you checked it out.
With US insurance write offs, you can type in the VIN number into google and more often than not, you'll find the photos showing the damage to the vehicle. Good job you didn't buy that heap of junk. Good things come to those who wait, you'll pick up a gem of a motor before you know it. Great stuff lads.
No problem with taking a gamble on a £1-3K car but not on £50K. Who can afford to mess up on that? Not me and I guess not you. I know you would have loved it to work out OK but shows you cant let the heart rule the head. Well done guys.
This is cracking video and I don't mean just the car it just goes to show you can't do enough digging around when purchasing a motor wether it's a high end car or a bread and butter runabout unless it's being sold for pennies well done Rob&Chris for dodging this one please keep showing things in a similar vein 👍
As far as I can see that Lambo was shipped here for one reason and one reason only. To try and lose that accident history! I'd be crying into my coffee if I'd spunked my savings to buy my dream car, only to find it had more hits than The Beetles! Great video guys and glad your cash is still safely tucked away in the bank!
wow copart should have all that information and it should be shared between countries. You definitely dodged a bullet there guys. Cracking channel. Best there is on youtube
What a stunning video the longer the better, that so educational words fail me,again stunning, the shot of u & Chris a at the end was brilliant, the best channel on here👍✔️
Rob i am so so pleased you never caught a cold on this one. The joy on both your faces having found the true chequered history of this vehicle at the end of this video speaks a thousand words. I was actually smiling with joy myself. Fantastic.
Thank you for posting this, a great reminder that not everyone in the car trade are as honest and honourable as you guys. Love the content God bless you for giving us great entertainment and education❤️
Absolutely outrageous Rob. Can’t understand in the digital age that all the record systems aren’t linked to protect consumers. You did some basic checks and the info is all there 😳
This is an object lesson for everyone. Posting the occasional video like this, especially when it requires some digging to discover the real history and damage of a vehicle is most welcome. 👍👍
Guys lots and lots of comments about copart would know and we would have to disagree this car is now on a uk reg and that is what they check also we have said it time and time again the are a auction company they don’t own these cars they are selling on behalf of people or company’s they don’t earn commissions it’s a flat rate to sell a car through copart and the last one we listed was the red van and the fees for that were £90 no extra charges they are purely a middle man the don’t fix cars hide damage dress things up they just take pictures and list but for a small extra fee the will clean the vehicle and include more pictures 👍
That’s amazing, just unbelievable!! I think you can place some blame with Copart if they were involved with it in America as well, they must have some traceability! It’s pretty disgusting really. It does highlight how good Car Vertical is though, that’s for sure!!! What a great video that turned out to be.
So happy that you did the car vertical check for international history, I’m sure whoever bought the car for 50K won’t be happy. I would think the auction site could be liable in some way, I know they’ll have a watertight disclaimer in the small print but still, if the international history is so readily available, there’s no excuse. A great video gents, definitely not too lengthy, thank you 🍻
Defo dodged a bullet with this one. Really highlights the value of spending a small fee on a car check before purchasing. Thanks for not deleting and showing this excellent example. Wonder if the person who had the winning bid watches this channel.
Like the long Lambo video, many thanks to the US based a accessor for the frontal & dash shots ( pity no odometer shot viable ). Looking at the bid threshold, no wonder it got repaired. Glad you dodged the personalised plate stalemate by using the chassis number. Those frontal pics worth their weight in gold. Must be your first shot together in video. Thanks Rob & Chris for sharing your Lambo adventure in 2022 ! PS - Thanks to Copart for technical contribution. 😁😄👌👍
You guys Rock! I am in the USA and watch you often. You guys dodged a bullet here. Keep up the good work. Next time I come to UK, I may come see you guys!
Rob , hello I saw this car on copart in Flordia, I lived here in Flordia, after I retired from the military. I was very suspicious of this car I can explain what happened but it would take a long time too much to text. But in so many words, you have guys buying these kind of cars to resale them but can’t repair them and they keep Selling it . That’s why it has so many transfers of title. They sell it back to copart
That Copart employee on the other end of the call was ace, very helpful and honest with you. Great video and a good lesson to be very, very careful buying from auction. I hope the winning bidder didn't get stung.

Rob, and if Copart US actually shipped this to Copart UK? also, while ago in the video where you were explaining meaning of those symbols they mark windscreens with, i think you said Copart were cash-purchasing some cars from sources (as opposed to be just brokers)?
Copart being a bit naughty there by the looks of things . Send it to uk with no guarantees of history as a disclaimer as it obviously became well known in UsA for its history . Good lesson to be learned from another extremely helpful video . Brilliant to watch guys , thanks
Well gents that was a lesson learned indeed, thank you for the content very informative and very useful. Feel sorry for whoever purchased it. Car verticle all the way👍
This happens in US a lot , ppl put these cars in Copart again n again and if the seller has seen ur video this will happen to it again for another fella to mugged , CarVirtical is great on newish cars but anything over 25 -30 years is useless cuz I have tried them as I am into a lot of classics , but any check is better than no check , serious eye 👁 opener , thanks Guys for making this video , it’s going to be really helpful for us who do work in cars etc 👍👍👍👍
This is an important video for anyone bidding at auction to see, poor car couldn't even be botherd to give it a realistic milage or fix the Airbags properly walking away was definitely the wise choice
Absolute madness! Great video! I agree with other commenters here; it looks to me like the car was shipped over to lose its history. I don't know if you guys have a proper paid partnership with Car Vertical or if you're just an affiliate but this is an incredibly good advert for their service. Someone in their marketing department needs to take note.
Guys absolutely amazing video this evening, thank god for car vertical!! Keep up the amazing work both of you and it was great to see Chris in the video again this evening 👌🏾👌🏾👌🏾
Rob / Chris, you never put out anything other than excellent videos. So glad you posted the video as it is a real eye opener and as many people said, thank goodness for Car Vertical. You have just set the bar for the year up by about 5 notches.
What annoys me is the Copart listing just says the 'Primary Damage' is Minor Dents and Scratches.... That does seem like a definite case of false advertising if the car is a written off import from the US. Surely Copart should have a Car Vertical account and check vehicles to put customer's minds at ease!
Seems that copart don't care as long as they sell them. For someone outside the trade it appears cars that end up at copart it's there for some bad reason rather than a respectable garage forecourt 🤔
Rob Chris going through all the old videos as per normal and came across this morning and loved it I couldn't agree more that car vertical check is worth it weight in gold if you wasn't able to do that check look what you would have bought a parts car once you found out the history on it a great video as per normal i think in future if you are going to buy a high value car the longer video is spot on for us. Quality ❤
Omg, Chris Rob, there's a lot of people out there watching videos of people repair crash repair and don't really know what there getting them self's into, but by god, that is a perfect example of what you should and shouldn't do when your doing stuff like that, I just have to say anyone that is watching your channel, wanting to do what yous do, eye opener, lads I have to say yous are the most genuinely lads I've ever seen on youtube, too show people what CAN happen. Fair play lads legends, love the videos lads, keep it up❤️👍
Extremely good example guys! What is annoying is that Copart have the same tools at their disposal as Joe Public, however they have failed, especially in this case to use the right tools for the right job and be able to gather all the relevant information to support this sale honestly. I dread to think how much it will annoy and saddened the individual that dropped £50k on this motor 😑. Rob, you will Get your Lambo one day my friend and we'll all be so happy for you 👍😎.
Copart had it in the US didnt they? Surely they must have known its history!! If it was a legit motor with a faulty roof it wouldn't be on a salvage auction site in the first place
Chris Rob I have watched loads of you videos. This is with out doubt the best you have ever done . You are Which magazine on steroids. What a close call to a rip off . Well done boys .
A very worthwhile video. Three things. Would Lamborghini in the USA not have a service history which would include mileage? Secondly, it does show the value of Car Vertical. I have seen people on here comment adversely about them, stating things have been missed on cars they have bought. This video shows how good it can be. Finally, I would hope the Motor Insurance Bureau (MIB) in the UK, would have this information. Experian too. When I sold cars, I would pass on information to them from time to time if a vehicle was suspect. It would be nice to know that someone wasn't going to get bitten on the bum in the future.
This is an eye opener. Surely copart have access to the same checking facilities that you do. In my humble opinion copart are not showing due diligence on the high value cars that they should. A definite lack of responsibility on there part. Great channel. Please keep it up.
Sorry , but if you can do a Carvertical check then so can Copart UK PLUS Copart Dalas sold it as salvage damaged It really does show that you cannot trust anybody's word in this day and age Thanks for the superb advice guys Glad to see you're both wearing your own merch too 😉
100%, this is on copart, they know its previously damaged. They changed a listing on me after I won, changed from Keys Yes to keys No. It was a big deal as it was a tesla.
I find it hard to believe that Copart wasn't aware of it's history.... Looks very much like Copart US have shipped it to the UK for a quick profit....😢
The car does not belong to Copart and Copart do not ship cars they are a salvage auction site and they sell vehicles for public trade garages lease rental companies agricultural companies etc they have nothing to gain by not being honest they get the same fee for selling a vehicle regardless of price there is no commission
Wow lads what's so so good about this video is that you have made people aware of the checks you need to do and most importantly how to go about doing a thorough check and research on the vehicle 👍👍👍
Excellent content. This was extremely interesting to watch. The old saying, if it’s too good to be true! Keep looking Rob, you’ll get a Lambo eventually! 👍👍
More countries than you think drive on the left: *Oceania* Australia Christmas Island Cocos (Keeling) Islands Cook Islands Fiji Kiribati Nauru New Zealand Niue Norfolk Island Papua New Guinea Pitcairn Islands Solomon Islands Samoa Tokelau Tonga Tuvalu *Asia* Bangladesh Bhutan Brunei East Timor Hong Kong Indonesia India Japan Macao Malaysia Nepal Pakistan Singapore Sri Lanka Thailand *Africa* Botswana Kenya Lesotho Malawi Mauritius Mozambique Namibia South Africa Swaziland Tanzania Uganda Zambia Zimbabwe *Europe* Akrotiri and Dhekelia Cyprus Guernsey Ireland Isle of Man Jersey Malta United Kingdom *South America* Guyana Suriname *Caribbean* Anguilla Antigua and Barbados Bahamas Barbados British Virgin Islands Cayman Islands Dominica Grenada Jamaica Montserrat Saint Kitts and Nevis Saint Lucia Saint Vincent and the Grenadines Trinidad and Tobago Turks and Caicos Islands U.S. Virgin Islands *Other Islands* Bermuda Falkland Islands Maldives Saint Helena, Ascension and Tristan de Cunha Seychelles South Georgia and South Sandwich Islands *TOTAL*: 2.7 Billion people (approx) in 76 territories, or 34% of the global population (assuming everyone has a licence!)
Very interesting vid, good call for putting it out. The buyers phone is probably going to ping soon with a link to this vid, God knows how he's going to react !
Lots of lessons learnt, thanks guys. Makes you wonder if it was originally a luxury hire car and with that history just image the potential mechanical issues. Recently Jay Emm on cars bought a UK ex track day experience car (cheap) and had no end of grief. Longer videos like this are great.
What would be really interesting to know is who is going over to the US, buying half a dozen high value! cars and shipping them back to UK to sell at auction! or vice versa? may the plot continue 😀 great video guys.... even more interesting as i used to be a panel beater for 15 years....
ROB i can remember back in the day turning up late at standoff when it was universal salvage running in and bidding a sierra absolutely mint and it stalling at £150 pounds and i got a hand up and won the car and at the time it was worth a good £2500 so i went and paid for it at the office then got my one man tow frame set up and the they brought the car out and i thought the front end looks a bit high so i stuck the key turned it over to which no sound so i popped the bonnet to which there was no engine so you live and learn
This is a perfect example of caveat emptor (let the buyer beware). It would have been so disappointing to win the bidding and get the car home to find out it was a piece of junk. Good work for doing the detective work and avoiding getting ripped off. Rob, now you can keep looking for a nice present for yourself as you definately deserve to spoil yourself. Great video guys. Thanks again.
Rob, you'd be surprised how many countries drive on the left.. Australia Christmas Island Cocos (Keeling) Islands Cook Islands Fiji Kiribati Nauru New Zealand Niue Norfolk Island Papua New Guinea Pitcairn Islands Solomon Islands Samoa Tokelau Tonga Tuvalu Bangladesh Bhutan Brunei East Timor Hong Kong Indonesia India Japan Macao Malaysia Nepal Pakistan Singapore Sri Lanka Thailand Botswana Kenya Lesotho Malawi Mauritius Mozambique Namibia South Africa Swaziland Tanzania Uganda Zambia Zimbabwe Cyprus Guernsey Ireland Isle of Man Jersey Malta United Kingdom

Car vertical is a real life saver when buying a damaged or apparently straight motor. This is a salutary lesson for all. I can see why you were salivating over a Lambo Rob😎 Great video, I was captivated😳
For the amount of money that Copart make, THEY really should be doing CarVertical checks on anything expected to sell over 20K. Even if Copart then charged people £1 to view the check, they'd make their money back + profit.
Rob Do you think it's worth amending the title so it includes 'Copart Lamborghini'. I think that will help it go viral. I can see this video generating alot of views and providing a warning to all salvage buyers of the dangers of not doing due diligence. Is it also worth making a short version for YT or tiktok to bring more traffic to your channel. Thanks for putting out the content, love the channel.
I think its disgraceful that a company like Copart does not do the same checks to ensure people don't get ripped off with this kind of thing!! Great video exposing them!
I dont agree its not co-parts fault. You did a simple check and found out the cars history, they should have done the same. They are a big enough company to afford car vertical or similar app
Agreed. But why would they. They make more in commission the higher the car price, so they have an incentive to not to dig deep. And they can wiggle their way out of any responsibility by using the old 'it's upto the buyer to do checks' as stated in the video. Scummy business tactics.
Rob Chris I think it’s not enough waffle. I loved the focus video. And noticed you still have it ?. But your latest video ( what a eye opener). That could so easily have ended in tears. Please more of you and Chris just talking to us now and then. Bring on the waffle I say 😍😍
COPART USA and COPART UK are the same company so they'd have known exactly what they were selling (minus the crashed information and photographs/details from their American website)...... Makes you wonder how many times they've pulled the same scam with unsuspecting UK buyers..... Well done guys for doing your homework 👍
Different business registration numbers. You also missed out the UK / USA differences. Both have their own headquarters. They are two seperate entities with the same corporate ownership. For example, RUclips has sack all to do with Alphabet. 😉💯
Class video guys. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Love the longer video too. The content can definitely carry it. This is a great instructional video and an invaluable lesson to the car buying public that a car vertical check is an absolute necessity. It just shows too that you really need to be standing physically at the car to get a proper feel, as video calls just dont give up the sins!!. Its was absolutely definitely worth putting this video out. Thanks lads.
This is absolutely normal for a car coming from USA. This might be something new to you guys because UK has steering wheel on the wrong side so there isn't much import going on from US, but for the rest of the Europe if a car comes from US this rings the bells straight away and they also worth less than a car from Germany or Belgium etc..
Brilliant.. Just brilliant. Top class guys 👏👏Car vertical really came up trumps WHOLESALE.. Just in case people don't realise... If it sounds too good to be true or if a car gives you concerns.. Panel gaps.. Clips missing etc... Get it checked out.
Probably showing my ignorance guys but surely if copart US and copart UK are part of the same international group then they would have been fully aware of the issues prior to selling in the UK ?? If thats the case theyre tryingnto sell a lemon to some unsuspecting UK buyer knowing full well it has a shady past......
You can say it’s no ones fault but COPART know exactly what they are doing. How much would that car have gone for if they had disclosed what you have discovered? Money before morals in British business.
To add to your point, copart sold the vehicle in the USA so they knew exactly what vehicle they were selling now it’s arrived on British shores with the American cousins flogging it
Shows you how much due diligence Copart are doing on what they take in and market - this car had already been on their books back in the USA and I must admit I'm surprised they didn't pick that up.
i feel extremely sorry for the person who bought this lambo knowing what have just shown , i hope that this video can be passed to this buyer , and goes to show you can never be to sure what you are buying when there are so many despicable people out there , well done boys for showing this shocking video & thank you .................................................
Amazing video, guys. Really enjoyed the dynamics. Not so successful stories are always better than the shine ones. Loads of lessons learned! Well done!
I can quite honestly say Rob and Chris, you well and truly dodged a bullet there. Mind you, if I was to buy a car that was repaired, I'd prpbably only buy it off yourselves... Just goes to show looks arent everything with a car - Now it makes sense why Copart diddnt want you guys to look at it in person
As it has no recorded keepers in the UK I wonder if this car was imported to sell, with the knowledge that the history wouldn't be immediately obvious.
You guys made a wise choice in not going after that car. It is full of nightmares!!! With all the available information on the internet, like Car Vertical, etc., no one should get stuck with a bad car like this, ever. This was a great video on the education side!

Sold by Copart in the US and being sold by Copart in the UK
They knew 100% hence all the pre inspection check disclaimer, and hiding behind Covid so you can't see it in person, thank god for due diligence on your part and for car vertical, brilliant video to put out regarding making checks on cars
Yes definitely.. no way company size of copart didn't know....they must used car vertical or similar...
Sure that car was on Samcrac utube channel
If you could trace the history of this vehicle so should Copart UK.
A £50,000 vehicle should be honestly represented, especially as it came via Copart U.S.A.
Something tells me they knew already not unheard of them forgetting history and they sneakily did a declaration in the copart description
Great to see Chris’s confidence growing with every video on camera , great content guys as usual 👍🏻
Rob and Chris the longer the videos the better, This channel can get away with it as you deliver brilliant content. 👍
Completely agree Darren
So true Dazzle
Agreed 👍
If I’m honest I don’t all the sponsors it’s not as raw ,just saying
I agree a hour will do just fine
“I never thought I could afford a Lamborghini. Turns out I can’t”
Absolute classic line
Shocking, totally shocking. Glad you put it out. Shows Copart up for some of their practices.
You say within the video that you don’t blame Copart for the history you uncovered. But, given that it went through Copart in the US as a write off/total loss I wouldn’t be that generous!!

And don’t be apologetic about the length of a video. I’d happily watch an hour of what you guys do.
Great Vid. Nice to see Chris getting more and more screen time. What a team and a lesson learned for all viewers without losing money. Thanks.
With US insurance write offs, you can type in the VIN number into google and more often than not, you'll find the photos showing the damage to the vehicle.
Good job you didn't buy that heap of junk. Good things come to those who wait, you'll pick up a gem of a motor before you know it. Great stuff lads.

I use CarVertical, the best website /app 👍😁

Might well be good idea for Copart to take responsibility for all history of there cars. It didn't take much did it.
Great video.
That is the best piece of investigative work I have ever seen regarding car history. I wish you guys all the best in what you do as a business!

Brilliant video on the pitfalls
@@AutomanZ I highly doubt they'd be bothered. They would likely be able to see that it's been through them twice before in the US.
Rob, and if Copart US actually shipped this to Copart UK?
also, while ago in the video where you were explaining meaning of those symbols they mark windscreens with, i think you said Copart were cash-purchasing some cars from sources (as opposed to be just brokers)?

Omg, Chris Rob, there's a lot of people out there watching videos of people repair crash repair and don't really know what there getting them self's into, but by god, that is a perfect example of what you should and shouldn't do when your doing stuff like that, I just have to say anyone that is watching your channel, wanting to do what yous do, eye opener, lads I have to say yous are the most genuinely lads I've ever seen on youtube, too show people what CAN happen. Fair play lads legends, love the videos lads, keep it up❤️👍
Brilliant Video, would have been so easy to get carried away and spunk your savings on this. Loving the new chatty Chris, he’s a legend! 😍
Dodged a BIG bullet! Thanks for uploading and not scrapping the video.
Well done Guys . So glad you didn't delete this video . Its really interesting to see how easily you can get stung. Keep up the good work :)
They are just selling it for the customer it’s not down to them 👍
Yeah it’s pristine mate, never been involved in an accident. I don’t rate copart after this
Great to see you both chatting together at the end! Thanks for the video :)
Chris Rob I have watched loads of you videos. This is with out doubt the best you have ever done . You are Which magazine on steroids. What a close call to a rip off . Well done boys .
That was like some sort of car detective show. CSI Kent lol. And to think you were worried about the stitching on the steering wheel 🤣🤣
I think Co part should literally give it to him when it’s returned to them
Sorry , but if you can do a Carvertical check then so can Copart UK
PLUS Copart Dalas sold it as salvage damaged
It really does show that you cannot trust anybody's word in this day and age
Thanks for the superb advice guys
Glad to see you're both wearing your own merch too 😉
100%, this is on copart, they know its previously damaged. They changed a listing on me after I won, changed from Keys Yes to keys No. It was a big deal as it was a tesla.
that was worth moving round the world to loose its history !!!!! Well done you guys, NO FLIES ON YOU !
Worth sending to VinWiki - US based and may have more info on the car - very knowledgeable of lambos coming from a lambo dealer
Longer the better for me, any videos you put up are always worth a watch keep them coming lads 👍
Bless him , he is like an excited lad , looking for his presents after Santa has been. Cute really !
Great video for Carvertical, but a really damning video for copart who knew exactly what they were doing. Keep up the great work guys.
@@sruk Understood, but their US offices would still carry records of it and it wouldn't take two minutes to update....
Good decision to go ahead with this video. It will certainly help educate people as to what is out there.
I have used car vertical a few times before, even on cars I have owned for a few years, just for confidence. A few quid well spent.
Well done guys. This video almost a public awareness video. Very informative and a warning to everybody.

Rob
Do you think it's worth amending the title so it includes 'Copart Lamborghini'. I think that will help it go viral. I can see this video generating alot of views and providing a warning to all salvage buyers of the dangers of not doing due diligence.
Is it also worth making a short version for YT or tiktok to bring more traffic to your channel. Thanks for putting out the content, love the channel.
Excellent advice on amending the title.
It's back on copart . Currently at £ 35.500 !!!!!!
What!!!
Great video guys, dodged a bullet there.
Top comment!
We have the steering wheel on the right side, the correct side 😁
@@Stevesixty7 yeah, apart from that bit.
@@Stevesixty7 just check where is radio volume button is located in your car, closer to the driver or passenger? 😆
@Anto banto in the centre of the radio, or dead centre, better still, on my steering wheel controls 😂
It’s Coparts fault, they will know the history. It’s shocking on their part tbh. Disgraceful.
Good point.
Leaning on the bench talking to camera at the end made me laugh. Alas Smith & Jones😂
:D Agreed! More of this please. :)
i feel extremely sorry for the person who bought this lambo knowing what have just shown , i hope that this video can be passed to this buyer , and goes to show you can never be to sure what you are buying when there are so many despicable people out there , well done boys for showing this shocking video & thank you .................................................
Amazing video, guys. Really enjoyed the dynamics. Not so successful stories are always better than the shine ones. Loads of lessons learned! Well done!
Car vertical worth every penny!
Such a good video. I'm watching it again.
I hope you contacted Copart and informed them. They will have to let the buyer know, and offer to cancel that sale.
