I have to watch this every few months to make sure I'm not going crazy when the rest of the world is.
you're not the only one mate :)
@@BuDDa100 Thanks!

……the World is Really Going Mental, and now it’s supposed to be The New Normal.
That Offends Me !
🌈🦄🤡
This is your 4 week alarm ⏰
Is ya bike wet? Yep! You’re on the wrong bit mate! 😂😂
Smart, witty, truthful and funny without being crude! A forgotten art.
Lol relax mate. He's just being logical.
Just Saying an act devils advocate
In the US you see a sign stating ‘Road Construction 1 mile ahead’. This will be repeated at 800 yds, 600 yds, etc. Then you’ll get a sign stating road construction has begun, generally one saying for how far and another that informs you that road construction has ended. I remember riding a motorcycle in the countryside while in Jamaica. Came across a single sign that just said ‘You Have Been Warned’. I slowed the fuck down.
Brilliant comment. No replies. Only this one.
Why can I only like this once??? I'm offended!!
"Nooo, don't give money to homeless people. Give it to us, we'll make sure they get it" so true!
I worked 6 months with a high profile charity, the regional manager would visit once a month, eat out, stay at hotels.... Paid for out of donations of course (as was my wage).
@@angeladawn805 Shocking isn't it? I'm helping a homeless woman atm as she does not trust these charities!
We should be more outraged at how 90% of charities work. Even "non profit" doesn't mean they can't live very good lives and put it on the charities expenses.
@@angeladawn805 A regular Big Issue vendor told me about a meeting that they had with the higher ups, who wanted them to try harder at selling more copies. I lost all respect for the Big Issue at that point. I'd rather give them the price of a meal or a coffee.
@@smithers4420 I used to give money to police charities until a detective told me out of my $50, only $1 goes to the families of the fallen officers. I stopped giving.
This guy is funny, clever and hugely underated
Absolutely. I watched him on a podcast recently called lotus eaters. Still makes me laugh.
HOLY FUCK!!!! Stop staying underrated!!!!!!!! He’s the complete opposite. You can’t even fucking spell it.

@@celestialblue7229 he's a corporate shill : )
We need more comedians like him. The western world has gone crazy and I hate it
THIS is the VERY best of Michael McIntyre.
The bit when he's NOT innit. LOL.
Oh, don't hate it, it's ALL comedy!
McEntire is a count
3:22 - 5:05 Brilliant, he is a genius. This bit rings true in 2021 even more than in 2009. "I want to live in a democracy but I never want to be offended again." Brilliant.
Was thinking that myself watching this again
Very true
And we all know exactly who he meant too don't we 👍👍
It’s no more true now than then. People have ALWAYS thought that way. IMO it’s due to people who have the inclination to exhibit ‘offensive’ behaviors have decided that they don’t give a fuck what these overly socialized sheep think and just do what they want.
I think the main take-away should be the current global "for your safety" totalitarian covid coup..
I bought that book on addiction too.
I couldn't put it down.
1:45 the delivery of the punchline here is just incredible. A lesser comedian could have the same idea but to deliver the joke with this timing... just pure perfection
are you one of his friends or family…or a complete idiot. He was unfunny, not at all original and as for timing…he would have got off the stage after the first joke flopped if he had any sense of timing…but don’t YOU get offended because I said all that…remember what he said!!
Yup... I worked for a charity. The CEO made €230000 per yr. And the rich donated and got tax write offs.
I saw him yesterday at a small comedy club and he was great! He started out fairly bummed out as some of the venues he was due to tour had cancelled because someone had -and say it with me- got offended. Soon picked up though and boy, did it get spicy!
Has he done anything on covid and have you any links to it?
How could they get offended if they hadn't seen the show?
@@jimmymunz874 apologies- bad wording there. I meant someone (a staff member apparently) had got offended at an earlier gig of the same tour, made a complaint and got some of the future venues to cancel.
@@TheNinja691 weirdly enough, no. He didn't mention much of covid but he did bring up the nightmare situation of what's happening in Melbourne. No footage though I'm afraid. He called someone out for trying to film him.
Comedy Is gonna be finished if this offended victim culture carries on
How are there not 10 million subscribers to Steve Hughes?!!!
They're too busy watching McIntyre... 🤦🏼♂️
Not seen this lad before, refreshingly different and very funny. Observational comedy is always hilarious, probably
the best form.
You should watch his stand up on being gay. Absolutely hilarious
I've been looking for more of his stuff but haven't been able to find anything
Love his sense of humour, so no bullshit Australian.
Watch the, 'eat your shit' sketch that's fuckin hilarious 😂

Re-watched and shared April 2024 thank you so much for this. It makes me laugh every single time. 😂😂😂
Never seen nor heard of this comedian before, he's really funny, more please...👍
You never heard of Slaughter Lord or Mortal Sin? Have you been living under a rock?
What is wrong with being offended? - Steve Hughes
It's a scary time when comedians are more intelligent than the government.
I suspect this has always been the case.
My 5 year old cousin is more intelligent than the Gov… and comedians (most of them) have always been more intelligent
I think it's far more scary when comedians are dumber than the government. Because at that point all the smart comedians have been banned.
It's scary when you trust your government to be intelligent...
Maybe the government listens too much SJW and lobbying. It’s about the voters; how to keep the voting public relatively happy with them whilst satisfying their sponsors who give them the money to make it happen.
As an Aussie, I’m proud of this guy.
Makes even more sense after Covid and the cancel culture we have to endure.
You missed the damn point by a country mile, you pre-school dropout..
EndUre...
You don't have to endure. You can choose not to give a crap🤭

I was offended by not knowing about this guy before now! Just loved his act, nice one mate ;-)
He's so rock and roll even his hand sign for phone is the metal one he came out with 🤟
Steve Hughes is my favourite comedian of all time, always makes sense of the world while still taking the piss out of it 😅😂
Obviously yous missed George Carlin who I also I believe he looked up to and grew up on...and just so happens is the greatest producing comedian of all time, with at least 14 HBO Live Specials... ;-) Either you're very young or just got into ot ;-)
Finally! Someone's speaks the truth about the homeless!!! And those thieving charity's who don't actually help the homeless this man is a legend 🍻

You're finding those damned apostrophes very tricky, aren't you? Never got to grips with take-off-the-y-add-ies, either?
Steve Hughes is a genius; brilliant material that has aged well, very astute - I love the way that last joke went over most of the audience's head! 😂
This is one of the funniest bits I've ever seen. What a natural. So glad to have just stumbled across this guy. Official a fan!
Very lovely bloke, very funny, thank you x
Wow, I haven't seen Steve since the days I worked in Utopia Records, when he was a customer, decades ago! Last year when I went to buy music at the said store, the boys there told me Steve is a comedian these days. I never realised he was that funny! Steve, you are very funny man, keep it up and when ever I do catch up, we'll trade jokes ! I love a laugh and good to hear you still love "Slayer" !!
Wow did you work at Utopia Records (there you go, someone noticed) 🙃
He must have something about him, a customer remember by staff _decades_ later.
I've never heard of this bloke before and glad to have happened upon this clip, very funny!😆
That guy took a number 1 on my list for a heavy metal entertainer!
If it's an entrance with Slayer...you know it's good...
whys that?
Its fucking METALLICA

Personally, I would put Steve right up there with George Carlin etc. Legend.
Hes a shit tonne funnier than carlin was on his best day
@@sugarnads Blasphemy ! Mind you Georgieboy wasn't a comedian. He was a stand-up philosopher.
He made observations which demonstrated the absurdity of not only society but those who live within it.
Brilliant. He talkes from my heart!
Steve Hughes is something else , absolutely brilliant.💯🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Some parts are so relevant I bet some people would think it's a recent clip..
He was saying this stuff back when it was tin foil hat terrain. It's a crazy time when a metal head comedian is giving a more honest and accurate insight on such important concepts 11 years ago then much of the journalism from big media outlets and public representatives are giving in the modern day 🤣
Love this guy. Why does an Australian accent just make it even better. Great man, very original, very funny.
Not seen this guy before but that was good. Not often you hear an apollo theatre actually laughing.
This is about 10 years old, at this point. Comedy was funny, back then.
Also, look for "Heavy Metal Comedy" - full set, this is from.
He's a wonderful comedian, has been for many years & always ahead of his time.
Remember watching this years ago but only ever see 144p or 240p videos so thanks for the HD version! My favourite bit is the offended bit! 😂
I've been forwarding this to people for years. I'll bet he wouldn't be a hit at most US colleges today.
Oh fuck no, but neither is common sense, tolerance, or freedom of thought. So glad I didn't go to college, that's a lot of debt to go in for 4 years of propaganda in am echo chamber.
The leftist Social Justice Warrior speech control Nazis would heckle him and scream for his blood!
You were mentioned in the comments on a channel where someone was discussing a loss. Sad circumstances brought me to your delightful comedy. I love the truth-telling. Thanks!
Never heard him before; but I will definitely look up more of his stuff!
Absolute giant of the comedy circuit.
Ahead of its time! Brilliant
Absolutely brilliant. He is making a joke about something that most mature adults have thought for years. What a great comedian.
My man's is funny with literal facts, love a comic with good observational skills 👌
Great delivery and observations !
genius...this quality comedy writing and delivery
The leprosy joke was insanely funny 😆
I thought that was the weakest line.
@@markfox1545 good for you Scrooge
Never heard of this guy before, but he's very good. I'll have to dig around for more of his routines.
Seen him live twice, once doing this routine about Amsterdam as well. I lived there and he is spot on. If you end up in the canal, that's your mistake 99,99% of the time. Even parking along the canal only has a pipe running along the wall, about 10 cm's off the ground, to let you know where the edge is. You just need to get good at parking or park somewhere else. It's great that Amsterdam isn't catering to the idiots just yet.
I'm living in amsterdam now and I actually disagreed with that bit. My bike is wet not because I'm in the wrong lane,
its because I live in Amsterdam and it rains all the fucking time
@@deathendz maybe the Dutch authorities should put up notices informing people that their rain is wet
Maybe there's a bar along the canal in Amsterdam, but most cities don't have them. Here in Delft there are none.
@@Asphyxter It's only in certain places, especially where people from out of town used to park. I guess a few too many cars fell in over the years.
The other day I saw someone parallel park and they would've definitely gone swimming if there was a canal there.
@Yvolve
Yeah, gotta protect the tourists. We have lots of tourists in our town, but parking alongside a canal in the center of town is only for permit holders..
Anyone that hasn’t seen Steve Hughes talk about gays ought to, it’s brilliant.
I just watched it, I'm actually gay and I thought it was fucking hilarious. Very funny 😂 🤣
@@darrenfromaustraliaupside-9079 I’d certainly not have suggested it if I thought it would offend anyone, it’s genuinely laugh out loud funny.

Never heard of him. Want to hear lots more after this. Brilliant.
I share and watch this often… have done for years… my favourite comedy skit ever!
One of my biggest regrets in life was seeing him in Melbourne and being the first to get a photo with him, when the poor prick just wanted to go have a smoke.
Piss funny and best stand up I’ve seen live, and I’ve seen some of the best.
This is just as relevant if not moreso now than ever before..
Breath of fresh air 😊😊😊😊
The best thing about Steve Hughes is that he helps to debunk the myth that people who are into heavy metal are unintelligent.
No one thinks that
It's been proven that only people with above average IQ's and high emotional intelligence listen to metal 🤘
Is your bike wet ?
Yeah !
Well you're on the wrong bit mate ..... 🤣🤣🤣

Some real funny shit! Loved this performance
Superb !!!
Blooming heck - this is so true… love it
The fact he comes on to Slayer makes me laugh in itself.
Steve's an absolute legend
Well put Dave. Just because we disagree with someone doesn’t mean we have to dismiss them. Sadly social media internet algorithms tend to group likeminded people together based on what they are searching for and give them what they want to hear rather than the facts. This in turn leaves little or no room for healthy debate. As Steve Hughes the Aussie comedian once said “it’s OK to disagree or be offended by something, it’s not like you’re going to wake up the next morning with leprosy”
John Hawkes: Actually it's Aussie, not Ozzy.
Loved it .Nice one Steve.
