The funniest comedian ever. His descriptions of people he was taking the piss out of were both bitingly funny and accurate. He once described Michael Gove as looking like a witch's spell to turn a boy into a snail that had stopped halfway through.
Yeah his descriptions are so creative, hilarious and weirdly spot on! I remember when he said Boris Johnson “looks like something you keep your pyjamas in”, I laughed so hard I could hardly breathe 😂
Definitely! My favourite comedian by far. I’m scottish so I’m maybe a wee bit bias. I liked the one were he said the queen was so old her p€$sy was haunted.😂 I mean wtf?🤷😂
Shows how well Frankie prepared his jokes beforehand. I watched Mock The Week because of Frankie as his jokes were so funny, it got the other comedians laughing hysterically and will be hard to follow up on.
I agree with everyone who says they miss Frankie on Mock the Week. It was one of my favourite shows in the 2000s when he was on it and this was mostly due to him. It's weird to imagine though, that the difference in time between now and 2005-2009 (when he was on the show) is like it being the summer of 2002 and us looking back to a show that was on in the late 1980s.
Yeah but humor (bar the politicians in charge etc) is often timeless. Some of the best humor for me is still Yes Minister and YPM from 1980-1986 - Bloody brilliant humor! And IDK if you can remember that, but my late 1990s was Bottom, Young Ones, Red Dwarf, Blackadder (last 2 seasons) and later Coupling - God damn so much good stuff!
@jacksonbow2766 I can guarantee you have no idea what that means. I don't like cancel culture and all that shit but I've yet to meet someone who calls something or someone woke and can actually give it a definition beyond something they just don't like.
@@garethjenkins6273 Naah, it was just more polite, but Ed Byrne and Dara's ping pong, Russell growing into a pretty funny guy and Milton Jones were pretty funny. But yeah it lost it's superedge when he left. It's kinda like Metallica before and after 1986, still good but not great.
Yeah the original cut is longer and the sheer reaction from the others is GOLD. Like Hugh just stands there and smiles and just gives UP following THAT :) And Russell is just in tears :)
Of course rehearsed, but I don't think the other comics know what he's going to say. Improv is basically chance but when it hits it's easily twice as funny.
As much as I love Frankie Boyle. On this show he was the Lee Hurst of 'They Think Its All Over', he dominated it so much others had to wait their turn too much
Dara has the best reactions, in my opinion. I love when he is physically flinching. Shame this video cut out his reaction to Frankie's cigar cutter line.

Frankie is very funny and was my favourite from the show, his career as a writer before taking up stand up helped him, he was a very dominating presence on the show though, I think it is an unwritten rule that you should give the others panelists time to do their own joke and Frankie would steal the limelight a lot
