My first concert in my life was a Rolling Stones at Bern 26 09 1973... changed my life for ever! Thank God for the Rolling Stones, their music and watching their live concerts on TV as a younster in the mid 70's has forever changed my life, and to date I have never seen a more influencial Rock Band than these guys. From age 5.... I knew, ya.... that's the Band. They have forever enriched my life.
It is obvious Keith is a fan of his own band, he is particularly fond of the rhythm section being on the ball and locked in as he says. It enabled him to create the Keith Richards persona on stage knowing everything else was in place and this gave him the freedom to work with Taylor the way he wanted, Keith owes a lot to Bill and Charlie for that and he acknowledges it, he knows.
In their hearts, they know it too. Like I said before, they probably have known it better than us and way before our own revelations on the subject. When I watch them perform these days, it's like watching a baudy voudoun ceremony honoring Baron Samedi. Today is the day to live because one day there will be no tomorrow. That might be the source of the energy that keeps them going.

I just saw the Stones in Hyde Park this summer, and they do still sound like this - Mick Taylor was in the line-up. I just wish they would ask him to rejoin the band.
Oh yes and loved it. Favorite bits: the intro set in the 1970s here in my part of the world, Keith being the shoulder all of Jagger's squeezes cried on when Mick cheated on them, calling Hugh Hefner a pimp, saying Lennon was more bravado than bite, and the only reason why he didn't let Mick fall out of that window in Venice after Charlie slugged him for Mick calling Charlie "his" drummer.
If you're talking "A Bigger Bang", consider the comment seconded. It struck me as I was listening to some of the tracks that only they could have come up with them and only at this point in their creative life. I really got that feeling with "Biggest Mistake" and "This Place Is Empty".
Almost all songs are from the SECOND Brussels show. Only Brown Sugar, (the famous Brussels) Midnight Rambler and Street Fighting Man are without any doubt from the famous FIRST show. I''m pretty sure all other songs are not. So we have quite some new and nice material here. I'm already enjoying it :-). Viva Mick Taylor!
Worth pointing out too is the fact that these guys have seen who knows how many friends and whatnot go way before them, so Mr. D is less of a stranger to them than it is to most people. Charlie beat throat cancer a few years back, let's recall, so it's not as though they're not getting regular reminders.
They could play a CGI created clip of Keith Richards storming The Bastille and he'd watch it and think he was there and tell you how it went down. I'm pretty sure that by only by showing him clips of his past, you can convince him he existed before 1990 and still can neither confirm or deny the footage is real.
True. Spending over 50 years with a person who you have to live with, speak to, work with, write with and pretend to like in front of thousands of people every night would take it's toll on any strong relationship. At least if you're married you can escape to your parents or move out if you want a break lol. Mick and Keith did not have those options.
@bear06460 I've still got all my vinyl from the 60-70's in good condition,I find the hard drive a god's gift.The use of an equalizer is a must though, to beef up some of those early feeble remasters.Can understand,that some people go for the much more substantial vinyl listening experience.When you have years of that behind you,one can value the digital medium for it's user friendliness;you've got to watch the sound quality though.
At this point, I imagine that Mr. D is a regular houseguest who will one day spring that surprise trip to the Other Side on them when they least expect it.

I found the bootleg on the internet. Great music. Unfortunately, I fear they may have mixed the charm out of it (similar to Zeppelin`s BBC sessions) . They should release this on CD though.
Ha...well, as I heard someone put it once, who would have thought back in the '70s that Keith would still be alive and John Denver would be dead? He might surprise us yet. I think all the Stones have faced up to the fact that one day they're going to die, just like the rest of us mortals. I remember in a 2005 interview Mick talking about how he has had no serious health scares yet but that he knew it was coming. All you can do is stay as healthy as possible, he concluded.
