In part 3 of Google Play's interview series with The Rolling Stones, both Mick and Keith recall the ushers at this gig from the L.A. Forum in 1975 wearing togas, which is a fitting image given the Caligula-like decadence the band became known for during this period. The grooves, sleazy enough to begin with, become even seedier in this setting, and you can hear the band indulging themselves throughout -- "You Can't Always Get What You Want" lasts for more than 15 minutes.
But the band has the swagger to pull it off, and Keith is clearly enjoying trading licks with Ronnie Wood, who joined the Stones as Mick Taylor's replacement on this tour. Plus, ace sidemen such as percussionist Ollie Brown, and saxophonist Trevor Lawrence, and the inimitable Billy Preston help hold everything together -- Preston even gets the spotlight for two tunes in the middle of the set.
You can grab the title track from the album they were supporting, It's Only Rock 'n Roll, absolutely free, and purchase the complete set for just $4.99.

"went to a party at Muddy Water's house and woke up in Howlin' wolfs" how could anybody ever top that for a story?

Keith's accolades to Mick Taylors playing seem to get better and better as time goes by. Is Keith just maturing and giving the best praise now that he is secure and had less to prove or be threatened by? Or is his memory getting better? Or maybe he needs a favor from Mick in next coupla weeks? I'm guessin he has actually listened to the material more than any other Stone and finially is close to the truth of it all. Ronnie is best ever in 1975 because he's still playing MT's licks best he can!.

I'm surprised Mick didn't wear one of those sparkly togas at the L.A. Forum shows. You KNOW he wanted to.

I attended the SF Cow Palace show this particular year. their stage was actually a massive lotus petal which unfolded as "Fanfare For The Common Man" by Aaron Copeland resounded throughout the venue at full blast. The lotus petal slwly unfolded to a flat surface to reveal The Stones playing the first song ov a very kick ass long set. They looked unbelieveable then. Forever to be remembered. But please release this show on DVD!

On my official DVD release of this, the first half of the sax playing on "Can't Always Get What You Want" seems to be missing. It looks like Trevor Lawrence is just miming for a couple of minutes.
Anyone notice this, or have an explanation?

Keep in my that a lot of people wanted that gig and Keith and Mick opted for Mick Taylor, MT doesn't get the credit due but remember he couldn't handle "The Life".

I think Keith and Woody play great on this show, and yes... Taylor 73 Belgium is awesome... but something about the way Woody plays just seems to gel with the overall sound of the band better... as an initial huge fan of Taylor... I've come to appreciate more and more Woody and Keith's playing 75 through 82 especially, but also today... Thus show is an awesome example of both of their great playing

I've been doing it off and on for last 25 yrs!! Longer than Keith. You'd be surprised how well you can function, if you mix it with the right counter measures (meth. lol). Keith wrote a lot of great music during the period that all the lames like you claim he was always so out of it. Pull your head out of your ass.

I'm suprised they didn't mention that during Star Star a giant inflatable cock came up on stage. The Stones called it Tired Grandfather because of on and off again performance. They need to release some more Mick Taylor stuff. They need to release Live'r Than You'll Ever Be. That would be awesome. Then release all of this on hard copies only. I want these albums on my iPod.

This interviews were recorded in August 2011 for this release (what happends to with the official bootlegs "Brussels Affair" and "Hampton Coliseum"). So, this bootlegs were already planned to be released this year. My question is, are there more "official bootlegs" to be released by the Stones ? Thank you and soory about my english.
