Continuing their partnership with the greatest rock 'n' roll band in the world, Eagle Rock Entertainment have announced the DVD and Blu-Ray release of The Rolling Stones'Some Girls Live in Texas 1978'. Available for the first time ever from 21 November 'Some Girls Live in Texas 1978' features Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Charlie Watts, Ronnie Wood and Bill Wyman live in concert during the 1978 US tour which followed the release of their groundbreaking album Some Girls.
Capturing The Rolling Stones at their live best, and fully restored to the highest level of picture and sound quality, 'Some Girls Live in Texas 1978' was filmed at the Will Rogers Memorial Centre in Forth Worth, Texas on 18 July 1978 on what many fans consider to be one of the band's greatest tours. This was due to the band's 'back to basics' approach both musically and visually, as the shows were stripped back compared to previous tours, harnessing the new punk rock attitude of the late 70s.
Showcasing many songs from the Some Girls album, celebrated for being the Rolling Stones' most direct and diverse collection of music, and which by the time the band arrived in Texas, had gone to the top of the US charts, this concert demonstrates the sheer force and raw energy of The Rolling Stones live on stage.
Some Girls songs like 'Miss You', 'Respectable',' Beast Of Burden, 'When The Whip Comes Down' and 'Shattered' weave into a setlist which also includes 'All Down The Line', 'Honky Tonk Women', 'Tumbling Dice', 'Jumpin' Jack Flash', 'Happy' and 'Brown Sugar.
Originally shot on 16mm film, the concert footage has been carefully restored with the sound remixed and remastered by Bob Clearmountain from the original multi-track tapes.
    Available on DVD, DVD+CD, Blu-Ray, Blu-Ray+CD
    Tracklisting:
    1) Let It Rock 2) All Down The Line 3) Honky Tonk Women 4) Star Star 5) When The Whip Comes Down 6) Beast Of Burden 7) Miss You 8) Just My Imagination (Running Away With Me) 9) Shattered 10) Respectable 11) Far Away Eyes 12) Love In Vain 13) Tumbling Dice 14) Happy 15) Sweet Little Sixteen 16) Brown Sugar 17) Jumpin' Jack Flash
I'll never be your beast of burden
My back is broad but it's a hurting
All I want is for you to make love to me
I'll never be your beast of burden
I've walked for miles my feet are hurting
All I want is you to make love to me
    Am I hard enough
    Am I rough enough
    Am I rich enough
I'm not too blind to see
I'll never be your beast of burden
So let's go home and draw the curtains
    Music on the radio
Come on baby make sweet love to me
    Am I hard enough
    Am I rough enough
    Am I rich enough
I'm not too blind to see
    Oh little sister
    Pretty, pretty, pretty, pretty, girl
You're a pretty, pretty, pretty, pretty, pretty, pretty girl
    Pretty, pretty
Such a pretty, pretty, pretty girl
Come on baby please, please, please
    I'll tell ya
    You can put me out
    On the street
    Put me out
With no shoes on my feet
But, put me out, put me out
    Put me out of misery
    Yeah, all your sickness
    I can suck it up
    Throw it all at me
    I can shrug it off
    There's one thing baby
    That I don't understand
    You keep on telling me
I ain't your kind of man
Ain't I rough enough, ooh baby
    Ain't I tough enough
Ain't I rich enough, in love enough
    Ooh! Ooh! Please
I'll never be your beast of burden
I'll never be your beast of burden
Never, never, never, never, never, never, never be
I'll never be your beast of burden
I've walked for miles, my feet are hurting
All I want is you to make love to me,
    Yeah
I don't need no beast of burden
    I need no fussing
    I need no nursing
Never, never, never, never, never, never, never be

The songs that the Two of them brought tô Charlie were mostly pieces of shit, Charlie tōòk 'em with a sense of humor, Made thêm Live and Rollin and Rock, made them in tô Hits, Hits, and Rock and Roll, hê is the only person who deserves Ãll the Accolades, but we will let the Two go to work again and see where it goes, you see, when the Two tried to sell as not Rolling Stones music, but they're own music wás they looking for a Charlie Watts BEAT, you can listen to their old albums, Mick seems to be leader of the people in the band, and Keith's album s are done the same way as The Rolling Stones, drummer and guitar ist in the studio jamming, the Stònes always follow ed Charlie's Down a road A Piece and Rocked it out, they have a Drummer that Charlie Watts chose, he chose, jùs lïke the Bass Playa, Mick and Keefe chose Not to be Involved, Hê chose the way to Roll with the Band, ooh you can gõ to the back up tape s of Start Me Up, sêē how it develope s into the song, or the one, Almost Hear You Sigh or whatever the name of the song is, first you hear Keith and Steve Jordan s very Crafty version of the song, then, You get the explosive drumming of Charlie Watts, and Keith playin Acoustic Guitar, something Hê is pretty Adequate at, my friend, Ãll you have to do is listen to, "Connection", ït is when they get their Ãll Together, they had the rigamarole til now, then it became obvious that they should Ãll be together, it was Alway s jùs those three, time and time again they have provided us with soul searching episode s, but don't be fooled My friend, it was Charlie Watts who lead the Way, ooh I forgot, from what I hear on RUclips, seems as though, this Cat is right on, jùs såyîn ¡😎🥚😎¡

I wholeheartedly agree. In the album version he ends with the “I don’t need no beast of burden” line, so I imagine that while recording and jamming the song they not only played it many times but also did longer versions of it. I bet it almost became like a cyclical song. It doesn’t really have an end, it ends when Keith decides it ends.
Here it’s almost like he starts the live version where they ended the album version.

To me this is the ultimate "take no bullshit" song. Obviously the lyrics, but also the whole feel. But on a deeper level than just what the lyrics say directly. To me it's like that moment where someone does you wrong, and instead of lashing out and being like "hell naw, ain't nobody treat ME like that!!!" and making a fool of yourself, you just walk away silently, powerfully. There's nothing to be said, you know you've been wronged, and so does the other person. And it's not even about proving a point, it's more just about your dignity as a human being. We can zoom out even more, too. We've all been bullied, wronged, made to feel like dirt at some point or another... sometimes more than we'd like to admit. Well this song is that silent "fuck you" and moving on. That's my take on it. And it's a beautiful song.

Wow, I agree. Beautiful, amazing guitar, played by an equally amazing guitar player, Ronnie. I'm one of those Stones fans who prefers the Keith/Ronnie combination over the Keith/Taylor one. Ron's playing compliments Keith's and vice versa. Whereas Taylor played more flashy lead breaks, Ron's playing has always been more rhythm conscious, and fits the band better in the bigger picture. Hence the reason he was made an "official" Stone in 1990, and the reason he's still rollin' with the Stones. From huge Stones fan Davey in Ireland... ;)

That's a Tony Zemaites made custom number, there's a funny story behind that.
Ronnie and Ronnie Lane both went to Zemaites and were telling him "We want you to built a couple of guitars for us and we want to look like this and have these specs."
And Zemaites was going "If they think this all comes for free, they'll have another thing coming!" but then both Ronnie's produced the cash and Zemaites went "No problem lads!"

According to their bassist Stones-member B Wyman, the band didn’t see real banking money until the tours of thf early 80s and after. Up until then external finance management mismanaged/misdirected profits every which way. The members were practically broke, just barely breaking even w/ album and ticket sales breaking records, no pun intended. They had funds, but mostly from remortgaged properties and bank loans. Post-1980, the band managed themselves.

This music, during this time; these artists- and make no mistake the musicians of the 60's 70's 80's and even some in the 90's ( early depending on the genre) were true artists. There is nothing like this is music any longer .... if you go to a concert singers have something that is fixing their voice to sound like the record.. with so many background singers it's difficult to distinguish why the lead is actually even there.

Can the world persist without the sound and the music spirit of the Stones ? What can come after them ? Let us pray that it never ends ! With far away eyes or with eyes wide shut it should last forever!
So we can divide the modern time into two parts: before and after Stones. And we don't need to mention the present time. It is ouer luck that we can still participate in it.

This song makes me want to move, and when I notice how I'm moving, I'm following the bass line. Bill Wyman was the right bassman for the Stones in their heyday, no question. Love that dark tone that he gets. The Stones never needed a flashy bassist, they needed someone who could lay down that funky groove that could hold together with Keith and Charlie. They got that when they got Bill Wyman.

Bill Wyman -- Keith in one ear, Charlie in the other, keeping it all lubed up and rolling smoothly with that great tone and perfect timing, totally understated, as required. Bill Wyman is what kept the Rolling Stones rolling in their heyday. The whole band is great, obviously -- Mick and Ronnie have one of their best performances ever here, IMHO, and the weave with Keith is mesmerizing -- but when I dance to this tune, my body follows that funky bass line, without even thinking about it. Keith and Ronnie were able to weave like they did because they had funky bass line to weave with.
