    This concert in Leeds' Roundhay Park was the final show of the band's tour for Tattoo You, which had begun over a year earlier. The crowd is massive, the band is tight, and Mick's pants are, well, they're equally tight. Multicolored, too.
    Mick wasn't just making questionable fashion choices -- as he explains in our accompanying video interview, the set list is a bit baffling in retrospect, with band-pleasing covers such as "Going to a Go-Go" and Eddie Cochran's "20 Flight Rock" not necessarily guaranteed to keep the crowd's energy up. But as you can hear, the fans keep cheering throughout, and the band only gets better, ending with a litany of hits from "Honky Tonk Women" to "Satisfaction."

    I was there near the front and I loved it, almost had sun stroke and was deaf for 3 days in right ear after it !! Made working at St James Hospital answering the phone a bit tricky but I have fantastic memories from that time !!!

    I worked at The Mansion in Rounday Park - we did the catering and refreshments - Back stage - we had a security pass that let me all over and the relaxing area for Mick Jagger has a fountain in it - Great Days

    A fantastic show. I was there, aged 21, with my dad (now passed away) who was a life-long Stones fan. Wonderful to see this footage. What a day it was!

    Weird that they have Keith talking about playing the last few songs of the set while the first song of the set plays underneath...
    All hail the Stones, though. They are the best there's ever been.

    I was at this concert. One of the 100,000+ who were there. the tickets cost 25 pounds which was a lot of money in those days. It was Micks 40th birthday and the crowd sang "Happy birthday". George thorogood and Joe Jackson preformed too. Great day.

      @yassassin6425 6 лет назад +2

      I still have my ticket it was £10. The official attendance was 120,000 but I believe it was closer to 150,000 once you factor in the fence jumpers and the gate dodgers.

    This was such a big event for Leeds. Lacking a venue larger than the University (nobody liked the Queens Hall), it often seemed like the big shows all happened somewhere else. This was a pivot point for Leeds, good work also by the council to take a punt.

    Got this DVD for Crimbo and brilliant - me and Waddy (if you are still out there somewhere, hello! and hope you are well) hitched up from Canterbury - slept in a field the night before and slept at Watford Gap Service station after the concert as couldn't get a lift any further south at 2am in the morning! Wonder who would pick up 2 long haired, probably slightly smelly 18 year old geezers in denim and give them a lift nowadays anywhere (Thanks to you who did!) . Great days! and George Thorogood was damn good too!

    Grerat quality film looking at the extracts here, I agree it should have been a DVD release before now, how about it Stones Central? I love 'Going to a Go Go' and don't agree with Mick that it is obscure, one of the highlights of the show for me, from other sources I have heard.

    I love playing this concert loud on stereos....it gets a lot of attention. Best tracks? Under my thumb, whip comes down, spend the night together, 20 flight rock, let me go, hang fire, little T&A, Start me up, JJ Flash, Satisfaction.

    it's always nice to see another show being released from the vault. though this isn't quite the "live at leeds" that fans would have expected (what about '71?) it also seems that the setlist doesn't differ too much from "still life" and most recently "hampton coliseum" would love if the band keeps up releasing one new bootleg every month. how about the "trabendo" as a christmas treat, folks?

    This is currently my favorite. The best recording of the 81-82 tour and the sound is phenomenal! Why not release this on DVD / BluRay with this awesome sound? The Movie "Lets Spend the night Together" sounds lame by comparison

    Hihi I thought something very strange!! Think church people were the first that were jealous on this music, because they said it was devils music. Think that it doesn't matter which sound you use to sing it is always good because people that sing are in a good mood and have still courage to go on!😊💖💋And he above makes no difference between that also not if you sing wrong or right. He loves all. (That's my belief don't pick on me for that)
