Whenever I watch reaction videos such as yours I’m reminded that I’m 55 years old now. Bands like Spandau Ballet belonged to the biggest acts of the 80s, they were part of a genre called New Romantics. If you enjoy Gold you definitely should listen to their song True.
As a rocker gal growing up in the 80's, I was always open to a variety of music. I recall hearing this song for the first time. Not something I would listen to but when their most popular song TRUE hit the airwaves, I was hooked. They are a mixture of New Wave/Soul/R&B! A great sound. The 80's had such a variety of music to choose from. My stereo system was always on. Great video reaction yet again. It is good to see the two of you reacting to such a wide range of music. Keep up the great work! Love & Blessings! 💖
Thank you Suzy! We are happy that you liked this reaction! I'll let our dad know about "true!" BTW, we are going live this Sunday at 2:00PM we hope to see you there! LOL!
@@danasfaith5738 you are so welcome! I believe quite a few people commented for the two of you to listen to TRUE next. It was their biggest hit, in the 80's. You both might have heard it before. It has been featured in tv shows & movies. Yeah, thanks for the heads-up about going live on Sunday. That day works for me. I will for sure be watching so count me in. I am looking forward to it! Enjoy your day as it is TGIF! 💖💖💖💖
Ahhhh Spandau ballet! A great new wave band from the early 80s! They have many great songs, their number one song was “True” and the other one I really like is “Lifeline” both came out in 1983. You girls should listen to those two songs! I think you’ll enjoy them! Great reaction!👌😎👍👉♥️
Nice one ladies. If you think this one gave you the feels, you should listen to Spandau Ballet's 'Through The Barricades': it's a love story set in The Troubles in Northen Ireland, partly inspired by the murder of a guy who had worked for the band. If you want another example of the 'classy & romantic' strand of '80s pop, try the band ABC: 'The Look Of Love' and 'All Of My Heart' are both good.
Great reaction, thank you! Spandau Ballet's biggest hit was "True", but this song is probably better known now, if only because it's always used for medal-winning montages in TV coverage of the Olympics or other sports events... they launched themselves during the New Romantic movement of the early 80s, and had a bunch of hits in the UK, including an incredibly funky one called "Chant No. 1 (I Don't Need This Pressure On)", but my favourite is a lesser-played one called "Only When You Leave", a fantastic pop-soul song... Would love to see you react to more songs from the 80s, keep smiling!
THIS is my favorite song by Spandau Ballet. And I can tell you gals both really enjoyed it too. What a wonderful melody. I didn't even know what the lyrics are, lol! Very cool choice, thanks sis's. Great call for the Golden Buzzer! 😂
Great band. My favorite song of them is "Through the barricades". Some suggestions in a similar style: - OMD - "Enola gay" - The Beautiful south - "Don't marry her", "Good as gold", "A little time" - Cock Robin - "The promise you made" Or if you're in the mood for a good cry, try this younger (relatively) band: - Live - "Lightning crashes"

Nice review! A great band that was very well known in the eighties and had many, many hits. Fun fact: The brothers Gary Kemp, who plays the guitar in Spandau Ballet, and (especially) Martin Kemp, the bass player, are now more or less well-known actors. I'm pretty sure you've seen both of them in movies.
Well known actors? Gary had a small part in The Bodyguard, then Hoolywood spit him out and Martin was on a British soap opera now riding the coattails of his more famous son. 😂😂😂😂
Hi Girls ♥ When they showed up on the Music scene I was big into Rock-A-Billy and Old Country and Blues so I never really got them but my girlfriend at that time liked their song True
Gary Kemp (the band's guitarist, pianist, song writer) wrote Gold as if it were a James Bond theme. It's still an epic anthem, much prefer it over their bigger hit "True". People at Parties, Pubs, Karaoke etc still belt out "Gold"
Hey DF save your golden buzzer for Spandau Ballet's big hit 'True'. Much better than this song imo. The song was ok but you girls are always great!!! Keep 'em coming!👍👏
In the 80's , the English singers were wearing nice clothes , to seduce the feminine audience. Now , there are numerous holes in their clothes. :( The famous new wave band , ABC with " The Look Of Love " could be a very good choice. The English band wears always nice clothes , during their 2022 tour. :)
Please react to Pentatonix' Daft Punk medley or 90's Dance Medley - the first won a Grammy and both have literally millions of views - you will chair dance!
I have always thought of Spandau Ballet as the "Poor Mans" Roxy Music, you girls should check them out as they set off on their 50th anniversary tour, try the Roxy track "Out of the Blue" with its amazing closing solo!!
Tony Hadley's voice is the only reason the band is good Here he is singing it with an orchestra several years back. His voice is still amazing! ruclips.net/video/fPAdcl4m2Zg/видео.html

"True" is always a lovely slow.
Class of 81' over here. So I relate. this is one of my faves.
I know True... Not sure I know Gold. It's my first time hearing this maybe... "You're indestructible..." Interesting 🙂
I'm class of 92.
47 years old.
Tony Hadley's voice still making teenage girls swoon almost 40 years later!
Love Spandau Ballet and Tony Hadley! This song was written to sound like a James Bond movie anthem. You need to react to "True".
Totally sounds like a Bond theme, YES!
Tony Hadley was only 23yrs old when this was released, such an amazing voice
Hello beautiful girls.
From the album TRUE 1983.
Love you girls.❤️❤️
"To Cut A Long Story Short"... is another good one by them.
42 yrs old and still appealing to the younger generation. Timeless class.

I was going to suggest Through the Barricades , beautiful track . Tony H sometimes appears at our local music venue ,it’s great to watch him live

I haven’t heard this song in years and I still knew every single word. The magic of music
You need to listen to Only When You Leave😃😍🤩

Spandau Ballet derive their name from a prison in West Germany that held concentration camp victims and also held post-war Nazi criminals.
If Rudolf Hess hadn't flown to England, the girls probably wouldn't have been able to react to Spandau Ballet!😅 😂 🤣
Spandau Ballet is so Fancy
Fine reaction as always, thank you! 🙂Check out "Through the barricades" and "True"!

His voice is still EXACTLY the same.
Hi Girls ♥ When they showed up on the Music scene I was big into Rock-A-Billy and Old Country and Blues so I never really got them but my girlfriend at that time liked their song True
A couple of other good songs by Spandau ballet you should listen to are Through the barricades and Steal.
To Cut A Long Story Short.
Tony Hadley The Best 👏

Lo que me encanta de esta banda, es el sonido del saxofon, principalmente y todo lo demás una combinación perfecta.
La primera vez que escuché esta canción pensé: Así suena ser rico. 😅😅😅😅😅😅
Nice one, enjoyed your reaction. Doesn’t time fly from girls to young women in a blink of an eye.😘
Cool reaction man, you seem an unlikely fan of this track ha, so appreciate you checking out this classic track from my country, peace
I loved. I hope next time you can react to "I'll Fly For You" by themselves

What does Dana's Faith mean?
Do you know what the "Spandau ballet "was?
It was the dance the inmates used to perform, when being hung at spandau prison!!!
New romantic , junto a duran duran , adam ant the ant etc.

I don’t think they were competition to each other. I for one always thought of Roxy Music as a kind of godfathers to the New Romantics bands.
I was privileged enough to see Roxy Music on their Viva tour! Out of the blue is a great suggestion!
