The Patrol you have is just as capable and even in its condition is still more luxurious. Honestly, Toyota is taking the pee in regards to what they are charging, for these. Unless you are a Pty Ltd, these are way over the top. Having said all this, I'd still buy one😂
My patrol was better *when it was working haha. Unfortunately the list of things to fix just kept getting too long and couldn’t take it out on a serious trip. I loved my patrol though 😢
Well to answer your dilemma, the correct place for your arm while driving is NOT on the centre console. Both hands should be on the steering wheel which makes the question of where to put your arm moot. Sorry had to say it. Great clip tho.
Good video Mark installing those products,do department of interior offer that scan gauge as a option, quite like that idea, isn't much extra cost involved
@@NorthOz also… could you tell us bit about air conditioning? Is it cooling nicely(specialy where you live). My prado has amazing aircon and as you know there are vents at the back seats too
Love the upgrades. I have been using IVXIVBushIndaba 3D printed armrest, cupholder and roof consoles for a few years now. From a price point of view and aesthetics I find them hard to beat.
I had to laugh when your dad said it was quiet on the run down. Keep it that way mate. The worst thing my bro did was put an exhaust on his. 87db on the highway gets old real quick 😂
I’m loving it mate! Very handy. This should get you where you need to be: www.consolesonline.com.au/store/p73/Full-Length-Floor-Console-Design10.html If you get stuck, give the boys a call. They are great to deal with 👍
Great question James. I purposely got this one when I knew the specs of the facelift. In my opinion, the design is much nicer, there is more aftermarket availability of parts and I saved $4k by going with this model. I can’t complain 😊
A couple of reasons. I will have a fridge on the backseat. It gets really hot up here in cairns and the centre console fridge would only be useful on longer trips. I also don’t need anything kept cold either. On big trips, I stop off every 2 hours for a walk too. I buy cold drinks at the stops as well 👍
Nice car, my suggestion if I can, don't waste too much money on accessories. Fit what you really need, stay away from the pushy aftermarket. I learned the lesson after the 4th 79DC.
Love this little series mate. Got me thinking about trading my 150 Prado for one. Any early thoughts on the comparison? Mostly i just love the old farm truck look and toughness but afraid id miss the comfort and fuel economy
Thanks mate! I was worried about that too. Moving from a prado to a hilux was a big down grade in comfort and I thought this would be even worse! The comfort is about the same as the hilux but this has charm. It feels less like a car and like you said it’s like an old farm truck. Just something so familiar about it and exciting. Everytime I fire it up and even just go for a drive down the road, it’s an event and a good time. I only felt that way with my old patrol but that thing would break down half way down the road haha. Fuel economy isn’t bad at this point, I’m on 900kms so far and the fuel light is still off so I reckon I’m at around 12ish litres per 100km mostly around town too
Its definitely the charm appeal for me too, feels like your really living? I’ve not really had that feeling apart from a patrol as well, having coils all round and a big offroader was awesome but reliability got me on that. My other concern is i have a 5 year old and worry about safety and crash protection and the prado seems so good there. Sounds like fuel economy is pretty good and love that its an event each time, thats so cool, thats what I’m missing. A grenadier would be my top of list but man at $120+k, imagine a 79 with $30k of extras.
Thanks mate! The centre console is a darker vinyl to match the seats and surrounding trim and the roof shelf is a lighter grey vinyl that matches the roof liner 👍
Keep these episodes coming mate; big fan of you and your dad! Keen to hear your honest review piece by piece on the 79 series
Thanks mate! Will do! Heaps more to come 👍
Always Nice to see dad in good form, good luck and keep going.
Thank you Mohamed. I will pass it on. Good to hear from you again

Hi mate, they sure do. They have a whole bunch of options 👍
Another idea for storage if you get a dash matt, is a dash organiser. All so seat organises. It is cheap and a good storage solution
Great idea! I’m open to recommendations
These videos are really informative to somebody who's newish to 4WDing. Keep it up.
Thanks mate! I appreciate the feedback 👍
Great work mate 👍
Thanks legend!
Would love to get your Dad’s opinion…Prado vs 70 Series in regards comfortably when driving longer and shorter distances?!
Absolutely. We are filming a driving impressions video this week which will answer this question 👍

Nice! I haven’t heard of them before. That’s the great thing about these trucks, there are so many options out there for them 👍

😂 I wanted to hear it a bit more, but now I don’t think I want that haha
This is a safe space so let's be honest here, we have a V8 so others can hear we have a V8.
Love the centre console you managed to get is there a link in the description for this by any chance?

Finally! Your back
Yes! Had some time off after purchasing the 79. Work was flat out. Weekly uploads are back 👍
Mate I have to ask the elephant in the room question. Do you regret not getting the new facelift virsion?
Great question James. I purposely got this one when I knew the specs of the facelift. In my opinion, the design is much nicer, there is more aftermarket availability of parts and I saved $4k by going with this model. I can’t complain 😊
Looks great
Thanks mate! It makes driving way better now 👍
Why not have a console fridge between seats

The advice is appreciated. Only functional mods will be done on this vehicle. It’s definitely not a show pony 😉 What mods would recommend next?

Looks amazing what colour it is black or grey?

Hey mate sorry if it’s been mentioned already, but what happened to your Hilux?
Hey, no worries. Traded it for this 👍
Great video very informative and graet choice on your accesories enjoy.
Thanks Paul! We had a great time installing these and they work good as!
I would have done sound deading first
Hi mate! I still may do that. Removing the interior takes 2 seconds 🤙 Good thinking 👍
👍 keep the vids coming ive watched 4 of them today. Good advice on the under body protection 👍👍
