I just bought one of these. The main difference between this one and the original is the sound. The original one is pretty loud and in your face. This one has a much more relaxed and controllable volume, especially when strumming (from the baked top). I love the sound strumming. It also has a longer scale length (not sure if this was mentioned in the video).
@@dirkwitte7509 The one other structural difference between an OM and OOO is the brace size - by definition a OOO has a thicker 5/16" brace, while an OM is 1/4"... that's a consequence of Martin making the guitars a bit beefier later in the 30s. It's not a spec Eastman publishes so unsure what is there, but would be curious if that is a change as well.
The E1SP has a thermo cured top! Forgot to mention this, but it's hard to say for certain if the E1 DLX also has a thermo cured top. I have read and heard that Eastman currently thermo cures pretty much all of their tops due to spruce supply issues, even if the spec list does not specify this. So there's a good chance the E1DLX also gets a thermo cured top but again, can't say for certain.

You're absolutely right about the scale length, I did not realize this. Thanks for pointing this out!
@@dirkwitte7509 That is interesting. It's been a criticism of Eastman calling guitars OM that are not quite OM scale.
@@brandall101 Correct. Most Eastman OM's are really just 000's with an OM pickguard, haha

Wow excited to hear this has a longer scale length. I have one on order. ❤👋🇦🇺
Great guitar! Does the E1 special and deluxe both have thermo cured tops?
Yes!
