YES! YES! YES! The Cardigans! What a brilliant song this is for all the reasons Bryson describes. Equally brilliant,. though very different is "My Favourite Game" ...❤ it!
I said the same thing you did about that one guy in the band the first time I saw this video I was like who is that he’s very cute lol I think we have similar taste 😉 great reaction ❤
Welcome to the Cardigans! I would recommend following this up with their songs "My Favorite Game," "Carnival," "Erase/Rewind," "Live and Learn," "For What It's Worth," "You're the Storm," and lead singer Nina Persson's song "The Bluest Eyes in Texas."
Ah yes, a pop classic. Catch me in a clothing store when this comes on and I'll forget I'm shopping lol. "Lovefool" is the lead single from The Cardigans' third album, First Band on the Moon (1996); it peaked at #2 on the UK Singles Chart, #3 in Canada and #2 on the Billboard Hot 100 Airplay Chart.
Love The Cardigans. It was love at first sight/sound with 'Sick and Tired' back in 94 and I still get the same feeling, listening now. More reactions to The Cardigans please and thank you 🤗
Love The Cardigans! Go for "My Favourite Game" next. Also, the singer featured on an awesome song with the Manic Street Preachers called "Your Love Alone Is Not Enough". Lol I was instantly 15 again when I heard this song. Thank you! ✌️
Some other Cardigans songs even better than Lovefool: War, I Need Some Fine Wine and You You Need to Be Nicer, Sick & Tired, Rise & Shine, Your New Cuckoo, Been It, Paralyzed, Erase/Rewind, Hanging Around, My Favourite Game, For What It’s Worth, and Carnival
Certainly ubiquitous in the mid 90s. I'm also pretty sure this has been used in a number of commercials, but sadly for the advertisers, I could not begin to tell you for which products lol.
Oh, poo - you got the sanitised US-friendly version of the video. There are *three* versions of the video - this one, the Romeo + Juliet promo video and then the *original* video which features the band visiting a granny brothel. Yes, you read that right. But we can all agree: The Cardigans are *superb*. I recommend doing more of their videos, *especially* Erase/Rewind.
This is a terrific song & I'm glad you enjoyed it. I'd heard it many times but didn't know who it was until October 2022 when I saw the video being played at a bar. She kinda reminds me (physically) of Patsy Kensit of Eighth Wonder.
Oh Nina Presson and the Cardigans are so great. So cool. So suave. You've definitely gotta check out some more from them. My favorite is Been It, but Carnival is pretty awesome too.
I've been on such a journey with this song. I loved it the first million times I heard it, but hated it the million first time. Now that it's been decades, I can enjoy it again! You could not get away from this song the year it came out. I think it's why The Cardigans didn't do better in the US. Everyone I knew was just sick of this song at some point.
Very iconic mid-90s track. Would really like to see you do some mid 90s club songs. Real McCoy-Another Night, Livin Joy-Dreamer, Corona--Rhythm of the Night. (You did PSB-Go West which was from that same era)
I saw someone else react to this video and I gotta say it but I hadn’t seen this video before. There are 2 other versions I think with the Romeo & Juliet video being the one I’ve seen the most. ❤ the 90’s
Who else also loves the story as well with the song? Im pretty sure the story is that 2 lovers got separated and now the mother of the female is telling her to move on.. but she doesn't want to and then the female tells the news about her lover being separated but in the end she never met her lover again...
Or it has a deeper meaning... The relationship between the girl and male is drifting apart ( shown from the male being on an island away from the girl ) and her mother is trying to get her to move on from him ( quote: Mother tells me not to bother... ) but she doesn't want to and is coping with the fact her boyfriend doesn't love her as much as before ( quote: I cried.. I begged.. ) and now she's ignoring everything else in her life as all she wants is him... ( quote: I don't care about anything but you.. )
I reacted to the same guy at the exact same time as you 🤭Maybe I'm mistaken, but I do believe he is a main songwriter for the band. Loooooove the Cardigans by the way. Maybe my nationality makes me slightly biased, but ... yeah, fantastic band. Other than this song, I'm also partial to "You're The Storm" 😇
Yes! The Cardigans are amazing, and while I love "Lovefool", there is so much more to them, than just that one song. Definitely make more videos on their music. From their first three albums with the soft indie/twee/jangle pop sound, check out "Rise and Shine", "Sick and Tired", "Carnival", "Your New Cuckoo". And then following their change in sound with the fourth album (which is more electronica tinged in sound and heavier in sound) and forward; "My Favorite Game" (this song has 4 versions with different endings - choose "Stone version", it's the best one imo), "Erase/Rewind", "Hanging Around", "For What It's Worth", "You're the Storm", "I Need Some Fine Wine and You, You Need to Be Nicer" Also, Nina Persson's other band A Camp, and their song "I Can Buy You".
My other favs by them is Carnival, Been It, My Favourite Mistake, & Erase/Rewind. I think you’d enjoy any of those. My Favourite Mistake video got censored on MTV. Not sure which version they put up on their vevo.
Believe me when I tell you that even still, The Cardigans’ best material is the stuff that got overlooked. All of their albums are playthroughs. Facts. They mostly don’t sound much like this song at all. It doesn’t hurt that Swedish goddess Nina Perssons is next level beautiful. It’s a crime what happened to them as a band.
I'm from Germany, we have a population of 84 million and culturally we're irrelevant nowadays. It's crazy that Sweden, a country with a population of 10 million, is infinitely more culturally relevant and influential than us. They obviously value culture much more than us, respect to them.
Such a great song. And it was a huge hit in my youth after it became a part of the "Romeo & Juliet"-Soundtrack with Leonardo DiCaprio in 1996.
That soundtrack is sososos fun. I LOVED that Garbage song... #1 Crush??
Dang freshman year of high school, great song and always attached it to the movie as well
YES! YES! YES! The Cardigans! What a brilliant song this is for all the reasons Bryson describes. Equally brilliant,. though very different is "My Favourite Game" ...❤ it!
I’m looking forward to more Cardigans reactions whenever those pop up😊
All I’m hoping for is more Cardigans videos in our future 😊
I said the same thing you did about that one guy in the band the first time I saw this video I was like who is that he’s very cute lol I think we have similar taste 😉
great reaction ❤
Lol thank you!! ❤
Another good track from them is Erase Rewind.
My Favourite Game as well, I think that was on a PS1 game, maybe Gran Tourismo?
I agree Erase and Rewind is awesome!
“I Need Some Fine Wine and You Need to Be Nicer” by The Cardigans’ is great too.
Love love love this song!!!!!!
Welcome to the Cardigans!

I'm always right into a Romeo & Juliet moment ala Claire & Leo when I hear this track.
Time flies my friends 👩🏻🦳
Love The Cardigans. It was love at first sight/sound with 'Sick and Tired' back in 94 and I still get the same feeling, listening now. More reactions to The Cardigans please and thank you 🤗
I’ve listened to this song since I was a kid. Now at 33 I feel exactly what she is singing 😢
Love The Cardigans! Go for "My Favourite Game" next. Also, the singer featured on an awesome song with the Manic Street Preachers called "Your Love Alone Is Not Enough".
Lol I was instantly 15 again when I heard this song. Thank you! ✌️
I was in such a different musical headspace when this came out, but years later I found myself missing this song more and more... love it!!

The soundtrack to my teens 🤩🤩
One of the best bands ever.
The original Swedish video was actually pretty creepy and highlighted the creepy/desperate stalker angle of the song LOL.
Ahhh yes, the 'US video' version of this song :)
This is a terrific song & I'm glad you enjoyed it. I'd heard it many times but didn't know who it was until October 2022 when I saw the video being played at a bar. She kinda reminds me (physically) of Patsy Kensit of Eighth Wonder.
oh this reminds me of younger days crushin on young Leo Di Caprio! (was in Romeo&Juliet soundtrack)
Wow. Takes me back to the 90's. This and 'My favorite Game," were on my playlist for quite a while.
Oh Nina Presson and the Cardigans are so great. So cool. So suave. You've definitely gotta check out some more from them. My favorite is Been It, but Carnival is pretty awesome too.

'Communication' by them is fantastic. And also 'Erase / Rewind'

There is another version of the video, broadcast in europe i think
Forgotten crush re-awakened. Ninaaaaaaaa.
So glad you're doing them?
How about this for a title (and banger song): I Need Some Fine Wine, And You, You Need To Be Nicer
I reacted to the same guy at the exact same time as you 🤭Maybe I'm mistaken, but I do believe he is a main songwriter for the band.

I don't know if you've watched Romeo + Juliet, but at one point you do hear a snippet of this song.
Great song! Please do My Favourite Game from them too

Hola
"My Favourite Game" is much better imo.
Sounds so...now, right?
I would love for you to return to Cocteau Twins

Just letting you know...that Stephen Amell. AKA, the Green Arrow from the CW series.
