I've been mixing the knowledge that I got watching your videos with my "intern career" that finished one year ago. Now, as a 3D artist, making scenes is one of my basic steps to begin a modeling, cause they help me to choose how to apply these techniques. If I need to choose the color pallete, I follow the 60-30-10 rule in different ways to each environment. I think this technique connects the entire home through the color / textures and create a unity to each ambient.

The trim is all oil based paint color mayonnaise . I'm starting with my bedroom. Dark furniture , cherry floors, lots of windows .
