It's great to see another video from you! You have a unique sensibility, personality, and way of presenting information that I enjoy. My impression is that you present information logically, showcasing visual beauty, and infuse your commentary with your own individual personality and sense of humor. You really stand out from other designers out there, even if you may sometimes overlap in the trends you are talking about! Thanks Vivien! BTW, I loved the idea of color drenching using two different tones of the same color; I had not seen that before and it looks so much more nuanced than just painting everything the same color!
I'm excited to see integrated seamless designs and the hidden spaces are dreamy. I'm happy about warm mid-tone wood and curves that aren't painted arches.
I added mixed metals to my home decore a few years back and they will have to pry them out of my cold dead hands before I change them out because I LOVE how it looks. Great video! And I love your interpretation on trends, SPOT on! Have a wonderful and healthy 2025!
I have had several workers to come in our home and commented that they loved my home, it reminded them of their grandmothers house. I wasn’t sure how to take that, it seemed to be a compliment on our home, but then again left me feeling maybe I am old, outdated in my taste. I have surrounded myself with the comforts of pieces I inherited from my parents and grandparents. As it turns out, an interior designer friend told me that my style is called Grandmacore, which is actually making a big comeback. That did make me breathe a sigh of relief, but even when the trends change I will still be over here enjoying my great grand parents old fashioned furniture and art 😊❤ I enjoyed this video very much. Thank you!
Victorian Clutter is what I call it. We like to keep our "stuff" piled up around us. But guests still have to be able to get to the hall bathroom. 🤔 Let there be cupboards in my bookcases! This is a fantastic video! You're the best designer on RUclips. And as somebody else said, your example photos are spectacularly illustrative of what you're saying. Bravo!❤
Subscribed! Your commentary is intelligent and with excellence throughout. Concealed doors in "old school" design was called a "jib door". We had two of them in a previous house incorporated in an octagonal entryway with upholstered walls fitted with jib doors that concealed closets. I also appreciate that Maximalism today does not mean hoarding, but is intentional and considered, even edited, while layered. I double drenched our living room with BM linen white walls with BM Ladyfinger contrast trim. Its based on early California interiors in Monterey, CA that influenced me growing up. So pretty, and looks lovely with wood furniture. I added a new curved sofa and and added to my collection of artisan studio pottery. Its all the things I have always loved now combined together.
We moved to a new house this week. This morning we are ordering all new light bulbs……🤔 ‘Vivian has a great video with a helpful picture/diagram showing the light kalvins scale’. Your videos are often a design reference for me. Thank you.
To me, curves is a way to protect my body against myself. I'm so clumsy! That's the reason I want an island with rounded edges, a table with rounded edges, etc.
Texture yes, a few curves yes, smart home tech at some stage, and a few mixed metals but not cheesy brass. A big no to burgundy been trying to get that out of my house for 17yrs along with orange timber drenching. Just want a calming neutral palette with some black contrast, some greenery and organic, modern and a little lux. After living with a hoarder for over 30yrs I want simpler lines, not much out but to live within my clutter threshold and everything in its place. Hygge is my overall style and atmosphere. Am working on it. Happy holidays.
Loved this! So good to see what’s coming. Although it’s also so hard to keep up when you have to choose which style to go for! Thanks for the inspiration ❤
I always look forward to your posts. I have been subscribed for about a year and I find myself always coming back to your channel for inspiration. Keep being you :-)!
Agree, especially when one doesn’t want to redecorate every couple of years. Most people don’t have the time, energy or budget for that. Unless I’m putting my house on the market I say go with what makes you happy. 😊
The best advice I heard for renters and even those with a limited budget was to focus on the "touchpoints", meaning things you touch: a really good hand soap for the bathroom; really good towels you can buy during a sale, changing out plastic switch plates for attractive ones and then putting the old ones back when you move. Focus things you can take with you like art. Even just having a lovely arrangement of your favorite objects.
@@jstokes That's good advice...but what I really want to do are the big things, like change out the flooring (even peel and stick tile would be great, but that will ruin my apartment's wood floors), add arched doorways, tear down walls, etc. But I obviously can't do those things and can't afford to buy a place right now.
@@PoshPennies it's like made to just hose it all down or something...I guess it could make sense for a steam shower or something, but otherwise it's a no on ceiling tiles for me 😁
Posh, have you ever been in a space with brick walls and the same brick floor, AND the same brick ceiling? I feels like you went through the looking glass. Color drenching does this if you don't have tons of architectural detail. Otherwise, disconcerting AF. It will not age well. The very high gloss ceilings do magic, I rolled on a high gloss oil based paint and it worked. Contrary to what you would think, it raises the ceiling. "Color of the year", what a great way to follow a fad, and date a room, only to have to repaint in 2 years. I am crazy about the murals. BTW, wallpaper is outlandishly expensive these days. Do you know why??? Back in the day, it was mostly the same price as paint, unless a designer line or grass cloth. Tech in my opinion is going too far. Mechanisms to open the drapes and turn the lights on and off, don't make sense, and too many remotes to keep track of. This is just to sell novelty product that nobody will use after the first week. Thanks for the up-date and post.
Colour drenching is soo 1980s. Back then you would choose a colour or pattern and every surface would have that bestowed on it; walls, floors, curtains, sofas, cushions, etc. One comic duo even did a comedy sketch, check out French & Saunders. That killed that particular trend for many years
I wonder! part of me thinks a rich, deep yellow, but they also did yellow a few years back (the year they did two colors and paired it with gray 😐) so we'll see!
Impressive video showcasing cladding options! One suggestion consider featuring natural stone cladding designs for a more luxurious and durable appeal. Stone cladding adds an elegant touch to any space and is worth exploring. Also, feel free to check out my RUclips channel for creative stone cladding designs and inspiration. Keep it up.
The Pantone color will always be some random color that isn't actually trending or popular at all ...I can't remember when they ever got it right in recent years

yes let's make the painted arches stop 😅

Kudos I just did mixed metals in my bathroom Reno and it is exquisite!

You're easily my favorite interior design RUclipsr, thanks for the great videos
Thanks
thank you!!! 😊 🙏
That was really thorough! ❤
A great posting, Thank you heaps, loved the images ❤
I did a double drenched room, earlier this year. Black Sapphire with Tanzanite. It’s scrumptious! 😍
sounds basically incredible 🥰
Rich people trends!!!
hahaha 😆
More traditional, which is timeless. Having little power to use I like traditional where people didn't have electricity.
The mixed metals 😮😍 I loved this in fashion when it started so now that I have a home I need to incorporate this!
Trends are fun! I like taking some of them and incorporating into my eclectic mix. Thanks for this video, so helpful!
You always have "pearls of wisdom" regarding design and I love that you share them with us. ❤
To me, curves is a way to protect my body against myself. I'm so clumsy! That's the reason I want an island with rounded edges, a table with rounded edges, etc.
You're really good at this.
Here for the bold designs! 🙌
I love your videos,it really helps a lot in choosing my next design, thank you!

Girl i was waiting for your video
Would truly appreciate an in-depth analysis of art deco decor.
I definitely resonate with the curated maximalist but with lots of wood.
me toooooo
Love the hidden doors
I always look forward to your posts. I have been subscribed for about a year and I find myself always coming back to your channel for inspiration. Keep being you :-)!
Sooo exciting... I love it all!!!
Just a tip, but hardscape trends should be avoided. Trends that allow you to interchange soft touches are more flexible and budget friendly.

Hear me out. Medieval imagery. It’s a trend and NO one has talked about it. It shows up in many of the images you use here.
I'd like to see a video on new trends for home exteriors. I feel like everything in my area looks so blah.
“Color of the Year” is just marketing. Good design is more timeless than that!
I wish there was an easy way for renters to do most of these. It seems like they're mainly intended for homeowners.
The best advice I heard for renters and even those with a limited budget was to focus on the "touchpoints", meaning things you touch: a really good hand soap for the bathroom; really good towels you can buy during a sale, changing out plastic switch plates for attractive ones and then putting the old ones back when you move. Effortless blinds? lol .. I call it lazy But on a good note, love this video! Glad to see I am moving with the trends without even realizing it lol :)
Is that for real? Just as I started designing my dream home interior, suddenly all the trends shift exactly to my style...
Brilliant video like always, Viv! Thank you!
Pantone picked Mocha Mousse for their color of the year 2025.
You have exquisite taste ❤
Very great taste for 2025 trends❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉
Good information. Thanks. I am not partial to most of the trends. I'd like to see more sustainable designs. My style is traditional AND thrifted.
love that !
Don't forget everything fluted and wavy!
totally! embellish everything !
Beautiful table
I love the sink at 11:00 minutes. Where can i find/buy one ?
I love your videos 🥰🥰🥰,it really helps a lot in choosing my next ideas design, thank you!😍😍😍
designedbyai AI fixes this. Interior Design Trends 2025
Whaaaa....no cap??? New trend in 2025 😂!!!
"Tile drenching" is great when you want your space to double as a butcher shop or t0rture dungeon! 😂
🤣🤣🤣🤣 kinda true
@@PoshPennies it's like made to just hose it all down or something...I guess it could make sense for a steam shower or something, but otherwise it's a no on ceiling tiles for me 😁
Tile drenching in marble aka the Russian oligarch bathroom.
also, mausoleum vibes 🤣
Do you know the brand and color of the blue at 9:13?
I always love your videos. 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾❤️❤️❤️

i think everything is outlandishly expensive these days 😅
Thank you 😊
Better have really good humidity control with wood on the walls and everywhere.
I love the maximalist look in historic homes but it looks very weird in modern box-shaped homes. Unfortunately I live in a box XD

I will check it out! that's not something I ever noticed about 80s interiors so I find that super interesting
2025 trend summary: drenching everything 😁
drench it alllllll 💦
⁉️⁉️hi there!! What color is YOUR wall paint? I’m looking for similar off-white…. Thanks !!
hi! Sherwin Williams Shoji White :)
Guessing that Pantone will pick burgundy.
I wonder! part of me thinks a rich, deep yellow, but they also did yellow a few years back (the year they did two colors and paired it with gray 😐) so we'll see!

I guess no more complaining about matchy matchy😂😂😂😂
These feel like AI generated images where there is just enough out of place that it feels fake or synthetic.
interesting. they're not AI
No way….
Yikes! Less is more. I dont like a totally blank canvas but I find to many patterns in one room is not relaxing. To each his own.
my husband agrees with you! I like a bit of pattern 😁
Those designs remind me of stories that have been going on in those places. Whole stand up comedy shows. It makes me sick
The Pantone color will always be some random color that isn't actually trending or popular at all ...I can't remember when they ever got it right in recent years
that's what I'm saying! 🤣
Not a fan of double drenching.
for now, honestly me neither !
Most respectfully, would not enjoy living in any of your suggestions.
thanks God real interior design is back. the only thing more boring than minimalism is most of the minimalists I know.
🤣🤣🤣
This stuff is awful and gaudy. Not your fault if these are trends. Just for me, I'll be passing on these ideas because yuck.
With the exception of the smart home tech, I can’t stand any of these trends. They won’t be happening in my home.
what's your favorite type of smart home tech??
I'm guessing n American thing? And sophisticated? American, so no.
Hidden doors and mostly hidden appliances are a stretch. Trying way too hard.
These trends are naff
