How To Make Your Home Look Cohesive | Cohesive Interior Spaces | Ashley Childers
Cohesive interior spaces are what truly make a home sing! I loved putting this video together and hope it helps you as you design and decorate your home! Let me know what tip from today’s video is your favorite and if you’re excited to create a cohesive look in your home!
this was a fabulous breakdown of the concept!!!
my two cents...
mood boards are ESSENTIAL to keep you on style and on goal.
IT'S OKAY to have an empty corner, or wall, or entire room until you find what's going to add to that cohesion of space. don't buy product just to fill a space. curate.
I couldn’t agree more!! No need to rush, honestly, my very favorite spaces evolve over time! Thank you for watching ❤️
So true, the ability to edit is so key.
They are all good tips. As we are painting our bedroom in 'French Gray' (which is really more of an 'English Green'), I am considering painting out a few items in shades of this same green. Thus, a little glimpse of this green here and there, will add to the 'green thread', so to speak.
Oh I love that, sounds beautiful!
Excellent tips on creating a cohesive interior, Ashley! This is one of the biggest challenges I see for homeowners, especially if they can't afford a designer and are curating their home themselves. You've broken the cohesive idea down into bite size pieces, making them easier to digest. Thank you!! New subscriber here.👋😊
Thank you so much for your sweet words! I’m so happy you found the video helpful! Thanks for watching 🥰🥰
So artistic! It’s the editing that I am no good at- I like to put all my pretty items and furniture out on view!
I say live with what you love!! Thanks for watching ❤️
Really loved your tip on paint color variant throughout the home. Thank you😊

This was really helpful, thank you! I think what you said about color is most helpful to me as it is my weak point!

Mood boards are key!❤
Yes!!! So helpful!
Good advice to consider
Thank you ❤
I collect blue and white pottery, chinoiserie, etc. for many years but it doesn’t match my current neutral/moody decor. So I set aside a spare bedroom where I display all those items. ❤
I love that!
This is exactly what I do. I use canva too. I have to do this bc it keeps me on point bc otherwise I end up buying stuff that I may like but it doesn't work with my mood board. Moved into a new house so this is my life right now.
I’m so glad to hear that!! Congrats on the new house ❤️❤️
This was very helpful thank you. I’m continuing on the flow throughout my home and I’m having trouble with choosing between picture frames and mirror frames? Should we just stick with the same shade or does it really matter? I have a neutrals like oatmeal, grays and medium oaks.
I like to mix up picture/mirror frame finishes a bit. I think they are an opportunity to add some interest and introduce a new finish! Your home sounds beautiful 🤎 thanks for watching!
I need tips on how to convince my loving husband to get rid of his massive dark brown leather sectional so that I can achieve a cohesive home. 😅
I really love the table lamps behind where you purchased these from?
I designed them years ago! 🥰🥰
@ashleychilders I really love those lamps, too. Are they available for purchasing?
i really like the wall picture with a pine tree behind. Where can i get it? thanks.
I did an entire video about it! On our channel! It’s a wall mural I purchased from Etsy!
I would like to know if you also sell the candle lighters you showed in your store
Love sofa pillows where can I find these, what size are they, what's the material maybe I can make them
They look to be about 60 x 60 centimeters, and made of linen.
Ikea have feather inserts that size, and sewing plain linen covers is fairly easy.
I just purchased a white sectional that leans up against one interior wall. I would love to have a white cream paint throughout the space, but I’m afraid it will clash with the white sectional. I am leaning towards the Benjamin Moore white’s. I love the color white dove, but I’m worried that it’s too white.. Do you have any suggestions?
I love White Dove! We’re using it right now in a clients home and I feel like it’s a really beautiful, soft white. It works in so many spaces. I would suggest trying it out in a section of the wall behind where the sofa is going to sit and look at it at different times of day to make sure that you like how it feels with the sofa color!
