- Took a trip to New Jersey to chase after some migratory striped bass, and was able to find a decent amount of fish in a brand new area. Unfortunately couldn't find the big one, but the season still is very early!
Big shoutout to Jack (@togdawg on Insta) for pointing me in the right direction!
Know exactly where you fished. Next time try throwing a 5 inch NLBN in chartreuse on a 1-2 ounce jighead, It's $$$. Boats have been marking a ton of fish but for the most part the have lockjaw. Once we get past the next moon the bite will be on fire. Late April into May is when we usually see the #30+ bass push into that body of water.
Well done on your first attempt at NJ stripers. Looks like you had fun. Congrats
Way to go. Welcome to Jersey !
I’m 0-2 in RI, but can’t wait for the weekend! Counting down the days to get back on a pier. Great video as always 🦈✌🏻
Looked like a lot of fun! Excited to see whats to come!
I think you did alright brother considering being a stranger in a strange land. You know what it takes to catch them, you'll be fine. Trial and error bro, just keep grinding. Good luck down there.
Welcome to Jersey Johnny! ✌🏻
Thanks man!!
Tough session! At least it wasn't a skunk, good job bud!
Excited, excited like the comment before when they come to
You did pretty good. I fished it on the 9th and it was pure lockjaw. No bunker whatsoever but there was thousands of them there. Try launching out of lemon Creek you need to get the $10 launch permit which is easy enough to get But it's kayaks only. Most guys who fish out of great kills Park out by the waterfront and wheel there kayaks into the boat launch. Don't park in the boat launch or they will ticket you. Swap the troubles for a single hook on the rapalas and you're in business. Cheers have a good one.
Thanks man! Yea definitely experienced the lock jaw… wasn’t expecting the water to still be that cold
nice work, new areas are always tough. our season in Maryland just closed so I'm super jealous
can't wait for when they come into MA.
No lie , loved this video everyone wants to show the slay on slay days but not the grind!! But you’ll def kill It soon , right lines 🔥
Thanks man! Yea this was definitely a grind but a fun outing none the less
Johnnys back!
Raritan Bay. Anywhere around Sandy Hook and you'll find Striped Bass and maybe a few Weakfish. Welcome. It's not too different from coastal CT and RI
Still waiting here in Ri... I fish out of watch hill off the boat but I'll hit up the breachways from land
Any day now!
For that kind of fishing my go to is jigging 6 to 9 inch flutter spoon. It never fails me.
Big fan of the flutter spoon, had some fun days last season jigging those for stripers should have had one on me
👍👍👍👍👍👍🎣🎣🎣🎣🎣🎣
Well done Jonny, you did awesome and I look forward to part two 👊
I moved to aquidneck island, will i catch much at sauchest point or fort adams from shore this spring?

hello im in connecticut and i wanted to know if you know the best lures for shore river fishing over here, i use the slim shady swim bait, bucktails and i have a couple topwater and i still havent caught one. Also what is your best guess for when they will come over here i live on the south side.
How does the navigation light work mounted below your head?
What was this rod setup and lure weights ?
Where in Jersey is this
Your only allowed one fish in NJ , between 28&31 inches .
Yea same regulation in RI
Waders in a kayak… very dangerous.
