Hydro Minnows are a very good alternative to the Salt Pro Minnows. Have caught a good number of both stripers and trevally with them. I also really like the various models of the Mag Minnows.
I love the actions on those @Yo-Zuri Hydro Minows they make a zig zag patterns as you reeling in and jerking your rod aka Walk the dog techniques they imitate an injured minnow and attracts stripers 🤫

Here in the northeast stripers love the bone and the chicken scratch colors. I use a 10' St. Croix Triumph and those lures cast a mile.

Yozuri is a great bait for fresh or salt. Sometimes I put beefier hooks on them for big fish.
If they make artificial reefs near there a lot of time they fill them with old tires? Storms currents wash some to shore, happens a lot here on easy coast after hurricanes

Those are my favorite plugs…I’ve even caught halibut, calico, bonito, mackerel and best of all..

Any recommendations on a beach to try fishing? I usually go to danapoint and fish from the jetties but i want to try somthing new and try some surf fishing... love your videos!
Cool lure. Are you upgrading hooks and split rings? If so, what are you using? Also, 20 lbs. or 40 lbs. leader? Thanks! My rod just can’t cast the lucky craft well.
Everything was stock, that is one of the reasons I like these lures. I had 40 pound leader on this one

There's not really any white bass for the striped bass to hybridize with in the coastal waters of California. More of a Midwest or East coast situation.
I don't think that applies to the striped bass we have here, I think its just variations from fish to fish

lol ya they are jerk baits...east coast guys call them plugs. The lingo is starting to spread to the west coast. On the west coast for longest time "plugs" were for trolling salmon in the rivers.

Summer is generally better but they can be caught year round

wet sand is not too bad. As always, the less time they are out of the water, the better

Hello Adam, we met while fishing a couple years ago at another beach about 10 miles south. Nice catch! I tried my luck for stripers last Thursday about 5 miles south from where you filmed this video, and they weren't biting lures. Tried bucktails, swimbaits, Lucky Craft 110, Daiwa Minnow SP. Nothing. Ended up switching to sand crabs so as not to get skunked, and caught a couple nice perch. I've been wanting to try the spot you fished for this video, but where do you park? On the street, or in the neighborhood across the street? I know you didn't park in the public parking lot (too long of a walk)...Thanks for your informative videos. Tight lines!
