I’m Dominican, but didn’t grow up dancing. I’ve struggled with getting down the Dominican basics while adding ladies’ styling. I took it back and watched your video. I appreciate seeing Nicole’s hip movement being a result of her footwork and her pushing into the floor/earth/ the “ma’jao” mashing that causes a slight hip flick down-out. Latin is not Kizomba going up down hips and it’s not big, tearing out hip sockets pop-locking either. I feel confident in my taps now. Natural and can focus on regaining confidence in my timing and rhythm! ¡Gracias! ❤️🇩🇴
focus on the body movement and weight transition. hips will come naturally. without this as basics all the footwork effort is just pointless or looks very silly at best.

I’m Puerto Rican and i never been one who was interested in dancing bachata at all growing up and now that I’m older I’m intimated cause i feel like i have no clue and everyone knows lol. Learning this made me realize as long as I’m confident it makes all the difference. I love it!

Wow, thank you both so much for this video! It is so detailed and I really love how you both take your time and explain every step and how to do it correctly. The biggest concern I’ve had when dancing bachata with a partner was always worrying about how I’m supposed to know what step my partner is going to make next and if I have to copy them, I would always get so confused and always end up messing the flow and having to restart the dance, but after watching this video and hearing you guys say that you don’t have to do the exact same foot steps as long as you’re stepping side to side, doing a basic step in place, and following your partner while doing a square is so helpful! Thank you so much! Can’t wait to learn! Your videos definitely make it so much easier!! ❤️🙏🏽

I went to DR and danced like this and all the guys were staring....I had NO IDEA it was a real dance! This is my little dance I've been doing for years!! I want to get that triple down tho!

Im normally a salsadanser (and not really fan of how they dance bachata at mix parties- sensual is a very neat word for it :x) But I thought I would check this out during this long quarantine and I find it great! Ive never seen the basic steps on the spot this well explained. I think Im going to get this salsa partner of mine to do this with me so we can have fun little bachata dances together in between salsa. Keep it up :)!
