    I notice that I do fairly well when dancing alone but when I dance with a partner I tend to not bend my legs as much.

    the excerise of just transferring body weight from one knee to another helped SOOOOO much. when i just do the hip exercise in place, i can see what the hip movement is supposed to look like

    Professor Niole, thank you very much for these wonderful tutorials explained in a very professional way and with the correct technique to achieve a clear understanding of how to execute the steps in dance; In this class, despite being for women, I have managed to understand the importance of moving the hip from left to right by changing the weight of the body correctly; I have had the problem when performing the "tap", because I get stuck and lose time; As I review this tutorial over and over again, I see that the problem is with the transfer of the hip. A big hug from a distance.

    As a basketball player who feels like they have two left feet , this was a great explanation . Like yes I understand you have the steps and tap , but to explain the fundamentals of the hip roll is everything.

    Is there any difference for leader's hip movements?

    • @BachataDanceAcademy
      @BachataDanceAcademy  3 месяца назад +1

      In bachata, both leaders and followers use similar hip movements, but followers often emphasize or accentuate the hip movement more, especially on the fourth beat (often called the "tap" or "pop" with the hip). This gives the dance its characteristic sensual and fluid style. Leaders, on the other hand, usually have more subtle hip movements because their role often focuses on leading the dance and maintaining control, while the follower has more freedom to style and embellish movements, including the hips.

    Thanks for the detailed explanation . But now I am confused because I normally dance on 1 and my hip swings to the right , 5 on the left and seem like I watch the professional dances , they seems to do same . Seems there are two types : u can either keep hip to the left on 1 as u said or just swing to the right? Can’t wait to listen your opinion . Thanks a lot !

    • @BachataDanceAcademy
      @BachataDanceAcademy  Год назад +1

      The type of hip movement I'm teaching here is the classic way to move your hips in Bachata. This is the foundational way to learn how to move your hips. The way you are explaining is the sensual way to move your hips which is relatively new since sensual is a new form a Bachata. But you are saying your hips move is on one but if you truly break down the movement, the movement should always be contra-lateral. So opposite to the torso in a figure-8 pattern. This actually comes from classical ballroom, and has been integrated into sensual Bachata. neither are wrong per-se but you shouldn't do sensual hip movement to a traditional Bachata song. Hope this makes sense, its a little hard to explain in a video. We also have an entire video on the two types inside of our course.

    Hello Nicole. I am beginner bachata dancer. I have a question. Whether these bachata hip movements are only for women or (and) for women and men?

    • @BachataDanceAcademy
      @BachataDanceAcademy  2 года назад +1

      Hi there! It’s not wrong for men to learn this way but usually men do not move their hips as much as the men. Then mechanics are very similar though! It wouldn’t hurt to learn it, just don’t make it as pronounced when you’re dancing 👍
      Hope this helps!

    • @ciulmamwasgdzies9577
      @ciulmamwasgdzies9577 2 года назад

      @@BachataDanceAcademy Thank You very much for your answer, Nicole 😉 👍. I am starting with learning bachata, and my experience is basic. I saw many films on youtube with professional dancers (men), they have hip moves very similar that women but not as intense as their (women) hip moves. Hmm, men hip moves during sensual combinations (only). Please, tell me and confirm, am i right? I am left-footed and it is difficult for me to synchronize the movements of my hips and right leg.
      Best wishes Nicole 😉

    Just to clear my head out. You are teaching bachata dominicana right? I think the hips in bachata sensual is different. Am I wrong?? Thanks ahead !! ^^

    • @BachataDanceAcademy
      @BachataDanceAcademy  2 года назад +5

      In this video we're just talking about classic Bachata hip movement, its not strictly Dominican Bachata hip movement. Sensual bachata movement is a styling preference but your classic hip movement stems for latin hip movement (contralateral body movement) "Sensual" movement should be considered more of a styling option, less of a requirement where as this hip movement is always appropriate for any style of Bachata. 😁💃🏻
