    Do you know what your constitution is? If you aren't quite sure yet, check the list of my favourite and most helpful books about Ayurveda: goo.gl/Wknbw4. I personally find that internet questionnaires are useless for this purpose. They simply aren't detailed or precise enough, so definitely get a good book or two, and enjoy the process of getting to know yourself!

I have little Kapha but am a 50/50 Pitta/Vata and find myself more Pitta in summer and Vata in winter. Now i understand why i actually get thinner in fall/winter/spring :) I VERY VERY VERY much notice the 2 week Pitta overload. I will change to pacifying the Pitta during those 2 weeks. I just learned I'm Vata Pitta too. For the past 7 years I've been struggling with chronic hives. I break out when I sweat or during stress. I learned through a Chinese doctor that my body's constitution in Chinese medicine is cold and damp which is more similar to Pitta right? Now learning about Vata is interesting finding that balance because some of the things you mentioned are good to eat, my Chinese doc said to avoid but in the end I really need to listen to my body and find my own balance. Summer is especially hard as I live in a very hot and humid climate so now it looks like I need to balance my cold with heat but not too much spice, cool myself down with some raw food but not too much and be gentle with acidity. I've been consuming a lot of juice with fresh lemon and recently got a sore in my mouth and when you mentioned that about lemon I realized why! Silly me. Of course it's from all the lemon! Thanks so much for sharing this. You're awesome :)

    • @Vitalivesfree

      Cold and damp sounds like Kapha actually. There is nothing cold or damp about Pitta. It's fire, so it's dry and hot.

    I read that all inflammation in the body comes from Pitta inbalance ,like any -itis is from aggravated Pitta ,I know that for gastritis for example in my case,so I think when a person is in the state of inflammation,they need to take care of Pitta more

    • @Vitalivesfree
      @Vitalivesfree  4 года назад

      It's a bit more complicated than that though. Most illnesses in the body are caused by Vata imbalances (especially in today's world which is highly vata upsetting), and a vata imbalance can often send other doshas out of balance. So if you focus on pitta alone, but the real root cause is a vata imbalance, you can make things even worse by cooling and drying yourself out too much. Essentially switching off the furnice inside you even more. It's a tough balancing game. I personally pay more attention to Vata, also because my lifestyle is very Vata and my body is predominantly built like a Vata.

    Love your content @VitaLivesFree I'm a vata pitta combination, currently facing a vata imbalance and the associated dis-eases. There's a teeny tiny unintentional error in the video's intro - you defined a person's constitution as Dosha. It should be "prakriti". Dosha means imbalance, defect. All of us have all three types of prakriti but in varying orders and combinations based on genetics and a host of other factors. However, when one of these prakritis goes overboard or starts creating issues in the body or mind, it's called a Dosha.

    • @Vitalivesfree
      @Vitalivesfree  6 лет назад +1

      I did try to go off dairy at the very beginning for around a month, but I felt much worse. Dairy has always been a staple food for my heritage, so I find it extremely healing and soothing for me. I only make sure I get the best quality possible, mostly goat. Biounavailable copper accumulates due to lots of supplements that people take and which interfere with copper absorption, such as zinc, vitamin C, citrates, vitamin D, etc. Also eating excess meat could potentially do that due to excess zinc from those kind of diets. Biounavailable copper is more or less the same as copper deficiency. Getting rid of all those supplements and taking some copper supplements for a while fixed my copper problems.

      Ashwagandha should be good for the colder months. Ayurveda generally isn't very in favour of chocolate. I know it's not good for Vata (because it's bitter) and not good for Pitta either (because it's too heating and stimulating). I really can't eat it at all. So during luteal phase , what do you do ??
    You said you pay attention to pitta during luteal phase, do you increase it or reduce it ??

      During luteal phase, pitta increases, so I focus on reducing it if it's over the top, especially during the hot months.

    Ice cream wont pacify pitta, it will infact aggravate it.. So its better avoided during summer. ❤🎉

      It depends on what kind of ice-cream. Great quality ice-cream with unprocessed sugar is great, commercial scrap isn't. White sugar is aggravating for all doshas, including pitta.

    I am vata/kapha...is vitex better for this dosha? Or shatavari?

    • @Vitalivesfree
      @Vitalivesfree  5 лет назад

      Shatavari might be too heavy for Kapha, so I'd say Vitex.

      My husband is vata and pitta. I am too, sort of. I have a lot of kapha. One ayurvedic practicioner told me that I am nearly tridoshic because I have so much kapha but because it is a little less I am technically vata-pitta. Another practicioner said that I am tridoshic. This sounds funny to me but I love it because it perfectly describes me and the difficulty that I feel in balancing, right!?

    Honey is not exactly hot or pitta aggravating... But it depends on which flower and which season the honey is sourced from ....one more thing honey when used with hot potency food will aggravate pitta and when used with cold potency foods pacify pitta...heating honey will shourly aggravate pitta as it will not get digested and creat aama, continuous use of heated honey will block your channels leading to obvious ....disease

      Oh no, that's both too hot for the Pitta and too dry for Vatta. Definitely need to balance as much as possible with food.

    Hi, im vata dosha,and its recomended hot sesame massage for this type,and also intake of sesame oil. I have estrogen dominance,so im wondering is it safe to use it everyday? Tnx!

    • @Vitalivesfree
      @Vitalivesfree  6 лет назад

      I personally wouldn't worry (science these days seems to also be pointing in the direction of phytoestrogens not increasing estrogen levels in menstruating women), but please do your own research.

    I am vata-pitta,can I reduce it by increasing kapha?

    • @Vitalivesfree
      @Vitalivesfree  2 года назад

      I don't think that's how it works. You might end up with too much kapha as well. I would focus on reducing the constitution that is overboard.
