Always love to see when you’ve posted a new video! Your smile and positive attitude are so contagious ❤ I’ve thought about getting one of these microscopes before, but I feel like seeing bugs so close up in my house would gross me out 🤣
Thank you. 😊 Yes I was completely grossed out in the beginning. But got used to it after a while. Granted I didn’t find much except dead fungus gnats 😅
I treated my hoya kerri with sulphur powder applying it with a paint brush. I immediately got a growth point and 2 new leaves. I don't want to spray it on by mixing with water. I also brushed the leaves of my alocasia to kill spider mites. Dusting it on would be faster but so far I haven't figured out how to do it lightly.
I enjoyed your video :) I had my own “great flat mite apocalypse of 2021” 😂 In my experience, I’ve found mites most often on the undersides of leaves at the base near the stem. A wise Hoya grower once said that it’s not normal for Hoyas to stop growing for an extended time - they grow quite fast in nature. On that premise, I’ve treated for flat mites even without seeing them, and had resumption of growth on the plant. It’s not a guarantee to restart growth, but if it’s a last resort, it’s worth a shot!
@hjkhkjgjhk5710 yes, I like it for everything. It works beautifully. Got the idea from @gennasplants Less sticky than neem oil and more effective. Brand: green earth
Thank you for your video! Glad I inspired you 😊 I have the same scope, it’s tricky. My flat mites were brown. Hard to see, I had to stay in one spot and wait for something to move. I see some damage on a few, but your care may be doing the trick. I use a paint brush and dust the entire plant and if it gets in the medium, don’t worry @19:56 I saw a flat mite. Also @22:23.
Yes that microscope is SO tricky 😅 It’s funny, it’s those two clips I lingered the longest, I actually deleted some footage I deemed as “boring” because nothing moved. I treated them after the video, I’ll be sure to check and treat again. If i find anything, I’ll share on my social media. 🎥 Thanks for take the time to watch and comment! 😊🪴Happy growing. 😊🪴
If you can still refund the microscope, but another wireless one with 4K resolution. You’ll see better and easier to use. I change mine because the basic one cannot really find flat mites, especially the white / transparent ones that will linger on the leaves.
Did you see anything that I missed? Also, what do you use to treat pests?
@15:19 I saw one 😮

👋🏽 Michelle! Thank you. 😊
That’s so true. Most have started growing. Let’s see how the others do 🙈
Hi, can I ask what you spray your plants down with. Glad there are no stowaways on your lovely hoyas.
Yes, I use horticultural oil. Easy to find at hardware stores (at least where I live).
Interesting ❤
Neem
@hjkhkjgjhk5710 actually l use horticultural oil, not neem oil.
It's working! Do you like horticulture oil across your collect or mainly hoya? Which brand?

Very interesting video. Will order it. Thx! 😊

It could be the characteristic of the leaves. The black spots
I'm beginning to think so too. :-)
