- In this episode we go back in time to Paso! Aka West Coast Kustoms Cruisin’ Nationals!
Every year we planed on our trip to Paso. Countless night getting our cars ready for the 3.5 hour drive to spend
The weekend with likeminded people of all ages sharing the same passion for traditional hot rods and customs.
We jumped in our cars and headed north meeting friends along the way and that year I had the pleasure of driving Bobby’s
Roadster while he drove his Stude truck. Seems like we were all racing the whole way! Once we arrived we hit the A&W
Meet up with everyone and check out what’s new. The show is awesome mix of survivor kustoms and freshly built hot rods
Along with legends hanging out that have been coming to Paso since the 80’s when Rich and Penny started all this.
Something about that show that was very special it was a great time right in the hight of the the scene!
Featuring new scenes and interviews with: Keith Weesner - Gene Winfield - George Barris Dan Collins - Von Franco - Doug Dorr
Sam Foose - Blackie Gegian - Darold Starbird

I miss Paso! Always a great show with amazing cars.
Yeah me too.. it was so much fun!
Thanks Piero, really enjoying the content.
You’re welcome!! 👊🏼
Absolutely amazing! A-and you were there documenting it all! Thank you for sharing this! Reminds me of us Baltimore idiots hauling it up to Latimore, PA for the Jalopy Showdown in its infancy. Half the fun was getting the cars ready and the road trip! Kurt Iseli was part of our group, then he went on to write for the Rodders Journal. It's all about the gathering of the tribe, like minded traditional hot rod and custom fools! Thank you again Piero! Go Mad Fabricators, keep moving forward! Also, Matt from Iron Trap was sporting a "Car that Ate My Bran" t-shirt in his Eastwood interview recently!
Yeah the journey is the best part sometimes.. and man The showdown was such a fun show.. we will have a Diggin I.T.T episode of that soon!
I did see Matt wearing.. haha we are all sending each other shirts to wear on each others channels haha
Man has the world changed since then, fortunately the cars and people haven't! I only made two Paso's right around that time and it was an event I will never forget. This series is great!
Thanks! Yeah it was a great time!
Great Memories!
Defiantly!
Tony Farnettis 36! Very cool man I love watching these bringing me back to when I was a kid and pinstriped everyday all day! And seen all you Cats at all the bitchin shows! Great memories
Yeah that is bad ass!
Soooo many epic Kustoms! Remember allot from my first trip to VLV 20 years ago.
Thanks for sharing these wonderful memories.

I was 20 years old that year. Watching those cars cruise up Spring St left a huge impression on me!
Yup me too!
Dude, so many custom car superstars in one spot, & you got them on tape. Shit belongs in the Smithsonian. Gg
Right? The crazy thing is I totally forgot I interviewed people.. till I watched the tape! Hah I left it out of the DVD for some reason.. probably cut for time..

Piero, Thank you for these videos. It’s become the background noise/soundtrack/etc. in my garage. I gotta figure other dudes are doing same. All the best man!
Glad you like them!
I remember being there that year, but the writing was on the wall for Paso. Like so many small towns that got gentrified.....
Yup totally.
You’re the best buddy
🫶🏻🤓
What a bunch of talented people on that stage. Let’s hope the future is bright with more young people taking over the hobby. You are doing a great job piero. Cheers from England.🏴

@@MADFABRICATORSTV welcome
i can smell the gasoline fumes coming out of my labtop.
Ha!! ❤️❤️❤️
Thanks for sharing this series. By the way, how are YOU doing?
You’re welcome. I’m doing really well.. feel better than I ever have.. thanks for asking!
16:20 looks a lot like truck that @vicegripgarage is building that they got from the boys @restored-hope especially since the dash was signed by Gene Winfield 🤔
Lovin' this look back. I finally scored MFS volume 4, 2 disc set. Already had the first 3. How many volumes were released altogether?
Thanks man for the support! So for DVD’s there was MFS Volume 1 - 7, Car That Ate My Brain, I was a Teenage Monster Shirt Painter, Desperate Generation, The Kustom Photography of Barris, MFS Invades Australia 1 and 2
I think that’s a great dvd . I was a teenage monster t shirt painter!!!.👌👍👍
@@MADFABRICATORSTV Thanks Piero for that info. I found a copy of #7 down under and it's on the way. That leaves me 5, 5.5 and 6 to hunt down along with "Ate my Brain". 🤘
