  • In this episode we had the pleasure of interviewing two ledgend's the A- Brothers!
    The A-brothers were pivital to the custom car world as well the production automotive world building some of the cleanest customs and hot rods and working with designers at Crysler and GM.
    In 2005 Bob, Johnny and myself had the oportunity to interview both so we packed up and headed to Detroit to spend time learing about the cars and techniques the used to build such amazing cars.
    The Alexander Brothers were not only ledgends but we concidered them friends. We miss Mike and Larry and seeing them at show's was always a pleasure.

    These brothers are my favourite custom car builders of all time. So humble and so cool pity people took advantage of them. But there legend will live on forever. Especially with the footage you took all those years ago. Absolutely love this footage. Piero your the tops. Take care all the best Tim.

      Yeah they did a lot in a short time considering guys like Barris, Winfield, Hines were doing it for a really long time.. I couldn’t imagine the cars they could have produced if they continued..

      Absolutely. I suppose when you take the knocks of loosing your shops like they did must take the wind out of your sails.

      I still wish they had got that book together. I wonder what happened to all the photos and memorabilia that Mike had.?

    I was lucky be born in Detroit and raised in Dearborn . The Catalo car was always in our neighborhood, The fam0ily owned a small store on the corner of Kendal and Warren ave. Clarence was older than me but I hung around when ever I saw the car. A couple years later on I helped build a hot rod in the rear garage of Pete's coney place. I would ride my bicycle up to the Alexander brothers shop just to see what was new. Had . a scrape with the law and left to join the Army.
    Great v0i0deo , lots of great stories .

      Thanks yeah Bob was a little confused we went to Mikes first not Larry’s. Larry was suppose to be at mikes and wasn’t feeling good so we postponed it for the next day but we could only do it the next for like 45 minutes cause we had more filming to do around the mid west.. it was like MFS was on tour haha

    I remember this one on DVD. A great interview with two of the best custom car builders of all time.
    9:26 that looks suspiciously like the Barris Ala Kart.

    • @MADFABRICATORSTV
      @MADFABRICATORSTV  28 дней назад +1

      They were the best! And yes it was the Ala Kart burnt up after a night out the worn out gas lines ignited the engine bay. At the time it was touring around the US and was owned by AMT. it went back to Barris and got repaired shortly after that. The Abros were housing it.
