As far as bmw, I’ve owned a few of them in my lifetime… great cars, fun to drive but has a lot of tech behind it. All the one I’ve driven felt more like rally cars to me. respectfully speaking, it's only an equal upgrade in terms of the potential over an r/t or 392 stock given it already has a twin turbo & top performance only requires a tune but all in all, in comparison to an actual cat, it's a major 👎.and it will never sound like an rt or 392 on its best days,...being a car show fanatic, the sound of a v8 or higher is all that attracts attention aside from rare exotics or supercars like the gtr.... g series nissans can sound like ar15's tuned, and bimmers have the tt v6/v8 game downpack, so a six banger dodge will be at a lost to competition popularity...this isn't the early 00's during the days where turbo'd v6's like the dodge stealth were unique and only a dime or dozen..turbo v6's are everyhwere and car folks will still chose bimmers and nissans over a six cylinder dodge..the hemi is pretty much dodges trademark now, ...

      This right here is what I've been thinking people have been missing. Some say it'll be slow,however, the jeep wagoneer that's 200lbs heavier than the 5800lb ev charger is capable of a mid 13 even tho it has 40 less hp with its High output hurricane vs the charger. That alone is a SUPER strong sign that these will be fast from factory,especially considering if the car weights atleast 4000-4200lbs,it'd still be super fast for what it is regardless.

    • @MrDionstarrr
      @MrDionstarrr 6 месяцев назад +8

      4000 lbs? In your dreams. It's going to weigh as much or more than the current gen because it's AWD. And because dodge doesn't seem to understand how to shave weight. They only seem to add weight 💀

      @@MrDionstarrr the past gen V6 Sxt chargers weighted around 4100-4200lbs while some of the V8 models weighted somewhat in between those weights. That's why I said it'd prob be around 4000-4200lbs or at best 4300lbs since the I6 is a bit heavier than the pentastar V6. That's still lighter than hellcats which weight more than the awd sxt and the 5.7 and 6.4 models so it wouldn't make much sense for it to bounce higher than that considering the I6 weights less than the V8s.

    This Dodge in-line 6 engine Six Pack will not beat a BMW B58 inline 6. Here’s why their car’s are lighter all around and they weigh in about 3,800lbs. This new Dodge Six Pack with out the 2,000lb battery weighs in at 4,241lbs. The BMW B58 inline 6 engine alone weighs less than the Hurricane inline 6 engine over a hundred pounds less.
    Also its a very tunable car it responds well to mods and it’s all wheel drive. The Hurricane inline 6 engine weighs 441lbs and the BMW B58 inline 6 weighs 300lbs. You’ve already lost the race from the start. Why in the hell did Dodge make a inline 6 engine weigh so damn much it’s a inline 6???

    A LOT more differences between the SO and HO than a tune! HO gets forged internals to handle the near 30 lbs of boost. Also the sedan’s SO only and the coupe’s HO only. IMO these are made for the guys who want the tech in a classic design. Worth comparing to R35’s & M4 xDrive’s
    This is coming from a euro guy who’s never owned a Dodge, but I’m hype as fuck for what’s essentially a big bodied maybe-half price GT-R. Everyone who wanted a V8 already got one. Though it would be cool to see them do a 4.0TT

    I think most "power dense" means most horsepower per liter. The 3.0 liter H.O. Hurricane engine will have 550 hp ÷ 3 = 183.333 hp per liter.
    Compare that to a 6.2 liter SRT Demon 170 Challenger which I believe is the most powerful Dodge gasser car: 1,025 hp ÷ 6.2 liters = 165.322 horsepower per liter.
    Therefore, one could say that the 3 liter H.O. Hurricane will be the most "power dense" Dodge car engine to date, because per liter, it is more powerful than the Demon 170.

However, with 65 more HP and AWD, the Six-Pack is gonna blow the doors off all stock Scat Packs--and don't forget turbo cars are usually easily (and cheaply) modifiable to get significantly more power, so they'll probably blow the doors off most modified Scat Packs as well...AND they'll probably get significantly better gas mileage in everyday driving too.

    My concern is how much boost are they currently running to hit 550hp from the factory. I know there’s a lot of talk about tuning them but it seems like they’re already on the edge. Similar to the SRT neon turbo 4. It COULD make more power but required a lot of building to stay relatively reliable. If this 3.0 engine is already making 183hp per litre from the factory I suspect there isn’t much room to make more power than that.

      26 psi. Plus,this engine is similar to the S58 that has 50 less hp and people throw a ton of power at those cars turbos(despite that their rods cannot pass over 750-800whp because theyre from the S63 V8 that has weak rods,although, there are ways to keep them safe around that hp,but the hurricane has forged internals from factory so it prob is capable of handling 800whp at best)plus it being closed deck helps it most of all for it handling power. Unless the turbos themselves are at their limit, the rest of the engine is more than likely ready for mods seeing how it practically already has what it needs to handle the power.

      I think you are correct at least in my case. I know a lot of V8 purists will not touch it, but imo the only thing you are giving up is the sound and maybe bragging rights that it is a hemi. The inline six is a very good setup and they can usually take a lot of boost without much if any issues. It will be much easier to gain power with simple bolt-ons and a tune, while it is very difficult if not impossible to gain anything with the 392 without opening up the engine. Yeah some headers and a tune will add some, but not cheap and kiss your warranty goodby. Plus the awd will make a huge difference in traction from a dig and that alone would make it much quicker even if power levels were in the same ballpark. Not to mention it will make much better fuel economy. On the negative side, these engines are not really proven yet so it's hard telling if they will last 100k miles or more without any problems and I don't know if I like the fact they are putting them in so many different vehicles, so it won't be as rare as the hemi. The other thing I'm thinking about is if it would be a mistake to trade in my 1320 since it may be worth something some day. Mine is a one-of-one I believe also since I ordered it in Sinnamon Stick and with options I don't think anybody else selected at least in that color and trim. But on the other hand I use it as a daily driver so it won't have super low miles on it or be in pristine condition so that will affect its value years down the road. I also noticed trade in values have gone down considerably in the past few months, which I'm thinking has something to do with Dodges bright idea of raising prices on them too fast in which led to an over supply that nobody can either afford or think they are not worth the price.

    • @bk-hq2zn

      @@Mrbobcat7 I agree with everything you point out. The one you have may be a keeper. I have a SRT 392 (the ones the stopped making in 18) with about 18K and stays in the garage but I don't see the value that everyone claims in the future. What people are forgetting when talking about future collector value is will there be a market 20 yrs from now. Think about the the enthusiasts now who are willing to pay appreciated value for muscle care nostalgia. With the current trends and feelings about muscule cars and gas powered V8s by those coming behind us will the next group (think a generation behind millineals) even value something most of them wanted to get rid of or who's parents couldn't afford to buy really be into them enough to make the collectible outside of museums. It's going to be a tough decision but maybe smart to let the first couple of iterations come out to work out the kinks and jump in when the tweaks and upgrades show up in a couple of years.
