- Its time to durability test the new Google Pixel 6a. Grab one of my Teardown skins for your phone here: www.dbrand.com/teardown The pixel series of phones has never been them most hardware intensive - Google tends to make their Pixel phones more about the software experience. Which is good. Plenty of phones to choose from these days. What do you think of Googles new Pixel 6a?

I find it kinda funny that a phone with a screen size of 6.1" is considered "small" these days. Just a few short years ago it would have had the largest screen on the market.
You are so right
I remember buying the HTC HD2, which was the biggest ever phone, and remained so for some time. How big you ask?
4.3" :D
And this 6.1 inch phones isn't really as compact the number would suggest either, because it has some noticeably chunkier bezels
it's literally a normal size phone, I don't know why people are insistent on calling it "small" (same with zenfone 9)
people forgot these size are Phablet.
my friend laughs at me whenever i say that word lol
Nice video man!
I'd love to see a comparison between different gorillaglas types and how much difference in scratch resistance from coins, keys and dirt there is between them.
Are you new to this?
Google: Provides a very hard to miss pull tab to help pull the phone out from the box easily
Jerry: Uses knife to pull the phone out
The whole section with the "G" alliterated paragraph and story was really poetic, I'm still gawping at how glamourous it was!
I love how he started petting the phone after telling it it would get the skin after going through some test. It was Soo funny 🤣
And then attacks it with a blade...
I love the time being 6:10, 10 in hexadecimal is A, making it 6A. Such a nice touch.

Also there's no shame in getting budget phones. we live in a capitalist world...afford what you can without going into debt.
@@Ezio470 never said it's bad to buy a budget phone
Pixel 6a is a budget phone
6 is semi flagship
And around 50$ different in price
Well, even the A series are out of my budget, at least in my region.
Looks like Google has dramatically improved that fingerprint reader, looking forward to seeing the tear down on this one.
Also Zack I see that you can't let go of the Nothing SIM removal tool, it now forms part of your tool kit! 😂 😂
The fingerprint on this pixel is extremely unreliable and unsecure. It doesn't really read your fingerprint and just acts like a tap to unlock button. People were able to unlock their 6A even with someone else's finger. This explains why Zack didn't have any problem unlocking it using his rough fingers.
Adding to it this issue has been happening on few other phones as well including nothing phone 1. I guess these companies were trying to make them faster but made them unsecure in the process.

You should include drop test in durability test. Thats much more needed than lighting up the screen with lighter ‼️
Nice drawing. You are improving constantly. The main reason why I am watching you.
I just realized that underneath the wireless charging coil on the teardown skin for the Pixel 6 Pro, there's a QR code thing. But next to it, Jerry's iconic quote.

Am I the only one who skips the part when he runs the knife along the metal frame in every phone ? My ears can't bear it, especially while on earphones 😢😢
To my eyes, Decade old glass tends to scratched more on level 6 compare to others having more recent tempered glass..
This review was more poetic than your other recent reviews I would rate this amount the best for this year, for puns, limerick and metaphors.. Had me smiling all the way.

I feel the burn test some find odd, but honestly I find entertaining. But also practically speaking plasma TV's had a problem of images burning on to them, and the early touch screen phones did too. And living in Florida, heat is a BIG deal. And also no other person does durability test like you, but when I'm looking to buy a phone Durability IS a factor. That's why I still keep coming back to this channel.
Gotta love art class with Zack/ @jerryrigeverything been a while
Loved the giraffe, also the sound quality of the video. They make me come back all the time
Zack you should include water test on phones that lift up the screen during the bend test just to see if the IP rating is still intact
Of course not bro, the ip rating is dead after this
I think it's pretty much common sense and understood that there's no more water resistance after the fucking screen pops out of the frame! 🤦😂🤣
Sounds dumb asf of course it won't be intact 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
Decided to pick up a pixel 6a for my new work line and I have to say I am very impressed. I used to bounce back-and-forth between android and Apple but I’ve been pretty consistently with Apple for the last seven or eight years. Google has definitely upped their game. Got me considering switching my main device over to a pixel in the future.

There will come a day that smartphones will scratch at a level 9 with deeper grooves at a level 10, but that day is not today.
Man Jerry makes the phones look so much cooler than what comes from the manufacture.
@JerryRigEverything you have to put the same pressure when binding the phones and have to keep the lighter in the same angle. I recommend using some specific instruments to show the pressure and lighter flame angle with the phone.
you should do them story telling videos too. Your voice is perfect for that.
Jerry got a baby, and his word play humor has officially became dad jokes.
Always love these videos. Have you considered doing the Sony Xperia phones? I feel like since LG closed their phone division, Sony is the closest big name brand to make anything even close to what I really want in a phone.
I always wonder if Jerry is really snapping his fingers right before the intro or if that's a dubbed in sound effect because that is the cleanest most crisp snap I've ever heard.
Hy Jerry you are partner with D-brand , and your hand carved razor blade arts are really amazing. Can we get those hand carved art as skins or back cover? It would be really nice
We need more art classes with Jerry

I bought the 6A because it reminds me of my trusty old Nexus 5 the unbreakable plastic back, the smooth running and clean android. Its a tat bigger but the size is good. Fits in my pocket without looking ridiculously. And lets be honest is 6.1 inch isn't that small for a phone.
The only thing missing is the headphone jack.
I have bad memories of my Nexus 7 tablet
@@vibaj16 O yes the Nexus 7, the slowest most laggy tablet of all time.
@@jtb2586 I don't remember that part being much of a problem for what I did on it. My main problem with old android tablets was that the touch screen and charging jack always would start to get extremely finicky after just a year or two, and eventually they became completely unusable.

Too bad it’s software experience & software updates aren’t on the pixels level
@Sheikh Shaq yes that's a problem these days. As long as you can delete these apps and it doesn't ram ads in front of you all the time like the default settings in xiaomis...
@@username8644 umm. people buy Pixels because of the software and quick updates and good ROM support. I care about updates/software than a headphone jack. The Zenphone only gives you 2 years of updates which is very bad.

I didn't scratch my pixel 3A at all, within two weeks of getting a 6A the screen is covered in tiny scratches and I have a pretty large scratch aswell, all though you can't see it most of the time with the screen on, I definitely feel like the glass is inferior to older generations of the pixel this time, but overall the build quality felt much better aside from the front glass.

Yo Zack - was thinking it might be an idea to try unlock the phones with your other unregistered thumb after scratching them to see how secure they are - you may get lucky at some point
I prefer the way the 6a back plastic feels more than anything of the other pixels with real glass backing. I picked this up a week ago for $299. It felt so premium yet still light weight that I thought it was glass. I immediately ordered a case on amazon but it was delayed for some reason and I was forced to use it naked. It feels so good and it has the perfect touch of one hand usability. Since it was so cheap I decided to permanently use it naked permanently except for nights I planned to drink.
I'm wondering if there's any minimalist case of skin out there that replicates the smoothness of the back plastic? Also, any recommendation for smooth screen protectors? I'm aware there's a feature that increases the touch sensitity when you throw a screen protector on. Does that feature successfully do what it's intended to?
I'm actually going to raise the sensitivity now and will get back with how its feels if you turn it on when not using a screen protector.
My last question is that if there's not a case or skin that can replicate, does anyone know if anyone who sells back screen protectors?
I'd wouldn't to mad if I dropped it and cracked, but at this long I wouldn't like it because this thing has sentimental value lol
Hey what's the update on using it without a case ??
Started to use mine without a case 5 months back and already I have some dents and pain chipping from the black bars...
Despite my Pixel 3A turning three years, and me wanting to upgrade it, I'll take a chance with another brand. This is because I consider it unacceptable to remove the headphone jack and charger
